Archer E -A little late but it's the same way with Kenpachi. Looking through the arcs, let's say they fought after Yammy died, Byakuya wins. Put Nnoitra against Byakuya and see who wins. And not being a fanboy because Kenny said he would die at the rate he was going (one of the smartest things he said all seasons, coming from the bloodluster himself), these are my literal two favorites. Skipping forward, Byakuya went through way more training with his Zanpakuto and still at the Quincy arc, well of course Kenpachi stomps all out. Both at an even level, yeah Byakuya have to be careful, as Kenny can be unpredictable, but it'll be more than a wear-and-tear fight.

It's wild how Kenpachi literally doesn't actually get "stronger" in a way comparable to any other character as the series goes on until the final arc, where he learns his zanpaktou name(s). He's technically as powerful in the Hueco Mundo arc as he is in Soul Society, he's just loosens up and flexes a little more each arc until Unohana actually pushes him to get better.

After each fight to the death fight that Kenpachi has he gets stronger especially after the fight he had with Unohana. In which he lost the remaining chains that he unconsiously had put on himself afterwhich he regains his full strength. So he definetly gets stronger after each fight that he has.

Kenpachi is this powerful without any formal sword training. He does not even use both hands. He couldn't even release his full power because it was too much. When he masters it can't imagine his power.

I think the fight would be like some souls like boss battle, when kenpachi is the boss. If kenpachi land a hit, its over. In the same time, he take a lot to be killed. The only way for clear victory for byakuya to have 100% is suprise attack, like attacking kenpachi with bankai when he don't expect any fight (good luck with that). If kenpachi activate his bankai, yea, he win.

Feel like if you reverse the opponents, both captains would struggle. Zommari is fast and he use HAX that is hard to dodge. No kido, nowhere to hide, can Kenpachi avoid getting his arms, sword, and head being targetted by amor? And Byakuya is fast enough to hit Nnoitra but Nnoitra is durable as hell. He ignored Nel's direct super hit twice in base. Byakuya's petals would struggle to do much damage at once amd he wouldnt win a stamina battle.

@@shihoblade You are downplaying Byakuya way too much. Byakuya's normal senbonzakura was able to deal more damage to Yammy in Ressurection than a hollowfied Getsuga Tensho. Ichigo with hollow mask getsuga tensho was only able to nick yammy. Besides, Byakuya didn't even used Senkei on Yammy. Yammy is way stronger and durable than Nnoitra. Zommari only survived Gokei was because of his El Embryo ability. Byakuya killed Zommari with his zanpaktou in sealed form. Byakuya 2 shotted Zommari, 1 with Gokei and last with his sealed Zanpaktou.

@@shihoblade the novels already talked about this what would happen if kenpachi would have fought barragan and zommari pretty much that there ability would be strong enough to control him as kenpachi would raise to level where he can neg the ability and also that he would have been able to cleave through barragans respira as you know kenpachi is a weird character as it was confirmed he didn’t do any training from his loss to Ichigo to the battle with yammy. As opposed to byakuya who actually was confirmed to train non stop from his loss to Ichigo I do think kenpachi probably would get cut a bit before he raised his Reiatsu to the point where he can neg the ability because before his fight with unohona where he awakened his original power he always fought to the level of his opponent

Just remember Kenpachi actively nerfs himself just so he can have fun fights. He wears an eyepatch that eats his spiritual pressure, has a base level zanpakto, wears bells in his hair so you can hear his movements, and if that wasn't enough he literally subconsciously cuts his own pressure based on his opponent.

Just imagine Zaraki if he trained like Ichigo. Two handed, Shikai and Bankai, no eye patch and as much attitude to boot. Scary.

Based on kenpachi holding himself back all these years, and the muramasa filler arc, he would body byakuya - Nii-sama is no slouch obviously but I give kenpachi the upper hand, he can take the hits and keep going.

It's a good day when chuck uploads. Also chuck could you make a video about Franklin Richards and his different versions.

Every video I've seen about Byakuya vs Kenpachi is so confident about Kenpachi's ability to stumble through Byakuya's attacks and get the one blow he needs to win. It's so disappointing. Don't get me wrong: I agree it'd only take one hit. I just don't think he'd get that one hit. I think it's pretty much guaranteed he won't. Kenpachi can shrug off pain, but he can't shrug off damage. And Byakuya doesn't need to remain stationary to continuously bombard Kenpachi with ranged attacks. And even if you want to point out his ability to knock away Senbonzakura's blades, he can only blow away the ones his strikes come into contact with. If he swings ahead, he's hit in the back. He swings up? He's hit from below. You could MAYBE make the argument that he could release his reiatsu in a 360 degree burst, but he'd have to keep doing it, over and over, constantly, while trying to chase down an opponent he has little to no chance of ever catching.

Byakuya is my favorite character but even I know that Kenpachi wins this hands down. He has been hyped up too much. Hate to admit it. But, when Kenpachi has been so overpowered that the difference of strength in his sealed form and bankai is practically nil, then i have no choice. Byakaya is hands down more versatile. But as Aizen states a fight between shinigami's is a fight between their reiatsu. And, if Kenpachi in sealed/shikai form can strike through meteors and supposed dimensions, whats the real difference when instead of a meteor, its a giant!? Kenpachi can break out of even bakudos with ease I'm sure, and of course, has more durability

Byakuya is my favorite character BUT I think kenpachi would ultimately win. It would come down to a battle of endurance. I seriously doubt either of them leaving that battle without major damage but in the end I think kenpachi can withstand more punishment thereby allowing him to win.

Can we talk about how kenpachis zanpaktou had her own zanpaktou

Toshiro is my favorite captain, but he is definitely not the strongest. Kenny or Byakuya would murder him in a brawl. Kenny and Byakuya are tied for second as far as captains go.

He might be in the top half of captains, but he doesn't do nearly enough to warrant placing him above those two. Again, reading that page when Kenpachi's sword is calling out to him, the significance of showing the previous Kenpachi is because that guy's death was part of making Kenpachi Zaraki who he is as the name "Kenpachi" became officially a part of his identity. The sword is in a since, narrating what makes Kenpachi who he is, showing significant moments of his past.

The stuff about Gerard swatting away the vizards made me wonder: Gerard and Pernida had their power before getting their schrifts, as they were parts of the SK. However, they do still call themselves Quincies. Is hollow reiatsu harmful to them like it is to regular characters who were born as 'human' Quincies? (even though, yes, it would probably be ineffective against them even if it was poisonous by nature)

Awesome video, thanks guys. Byakuya has to take him out before he goes bankai and Zaraki’s personality would allow that; I think Byakuya would know that and would go all out. We all saw how well Byakuya did against hollow ichigo and this would be much worse if he let Zaraki get warmed up. Love them both. As to Kenpachi’s asauchi, let’s look at Tosen. Was that not his real Zanpakuto? When a shinigami dies, their zanpakuto becomes an asauchi again because the blade is me. So when Kaname got that blade it became Suzumushi and when Zaraki took that sword it became Nozarashi; now why Zaraki’s Zanpakuto isn’t called Yachiru is beyond me. I totally thought he was going to say Bankai: Yachiru Kusajishi

My top 3 characters in the series. When I hear about this debate truthfully I think it would be a tie. I believe they were meant to excel where the one lacks in but overall they around the same. I like to think of them like Dante and Vergil from the dmc series. Dante ( Kenpachi) like to brawl more and Vergil ( Byayuka ) utilize his speed and techniques more then just relying on brute strength. Idk that's just my take

Tbh i think you guys are always very fair in your analysis and sometimes brutaly honest which sometimes sucks to hear when it comes to some of my personal favorite characters but thats what i enjoy about this channel. I dont think you guys were really buttering up Kenpachi I just think with all of the recent feats, and information, and powerups that have occured it just added alot to kenpachi's benefit. I do think Kenpachi wins fs. and i would say if Kenpachi went immidiate Bankai and went fullpower from the start of the fight then Byakuya would be beat within 3 minutes flat. BUT if it was a traditional Kenpachi fight where he still isnt holding back but actually just fighting I think it would be about 15-20 minutes, enough for Zaraki to enjoy it and be entertaining but i still think it wouldnt be One-sided because of how fast Byakuya is along with his arsenal of Kido in addition to his mid battle strategy i think he would make the fight somewhat difficult for Kenpachi but I truly think that he would still come out on top especially with his new boost in power. But thats just my 5 cents, I love your content and always look forward to seeing what new topics you come up with and shit great video!

I'd say Byakuya takes it 6/10 times. Byakuya is faster, has way better range and has Kido. Zaraki can use Nozarashi and kill himself while Byakuya uses Senka and evades him.

@@Chuck Kubo really did the Seiretei dirty. He used the old captains just to prop the Quincies. Kyoraku, Byakuya, Hitsugaya and Zaraki get fodderised in the TYBW arc. I'd say if we get a Zaraki who can fully control Nozarashi, then I'd say Zaraki takes the W most of the time.

you have missed a couple of things... firstly-an asauchi is a blade that function as an empty vessel which can be molded by one's own spiritual energy; if it already became someone else's weapon Kenpachi wouldn't be able to use it as his own; secondly, when he picks it up the blade changes. and third, Kubo has stated pretty much that Yachiro is an extension of Nozarashi that broke off, or something among these lines

Zaraki got the blade before joining the gotei 13. IIRC what happened was he took it from the body of a low ranking shinigami who hadn't been able to imprint his spiritual energy onto the blade yet, so the sword was still an asauchi ready for imprinting. And Zaraki's overwhelming spiritual power forced the asauchi to manifest in the real world in the form of Yachiru.

36:33 And how would he counter them? Zaraki is pretty straight foward with his fight, he hit hard and can take hard hit. Tsukishima would not take one hit and brush it off, and he might have problems with blocking them too (the raw strenght behinde these atack)

That's a pretty biased take tbh. You could just say that Byakuya can stay away and just grind Zaraki to the bone using Senbonsakura. We already know Zaraki isn't known for avoiding attacks.

That aside, even regular kenpachi has show enough common sense to avoid attacks that might kill him; so even your argument isn't that concrete as it would imply kenpachi would just stand in one place and let byakuya slash him till he dies.

That's not mentioning the fact he can simply repel or power through it with his spirit energy alone; either by powering up or swing his sword, especially if the eye patch removed, he can quite literally blow Zenbonzankura away if it's flying at him. Also, saying he has subpar durability is just wrong, because if that were the case, he would not be shown taking so many hits in the first place.

@@sirduke0128 He can't use his reiatsu to negate a bankai, the only shinigami to show such a feat was Aizen who has much more reiatsu than Zaraki and he negated a Shikai. No, I don't think he could "blow" senbonsakura away by powering up, not even Byakuya could escape it and Byakuya is way faster than Zaraki, in canon it's shown only to be slower to the elite speedsters such as Yoruichi. He definitely has subpar durability, I'd almost call it frail in comparison to the top tier Bleach characters.

In one of the novels the previous captain of kenpachis squad used alot of high level kiddos against him and he was still alive, he is super durable/pain tolerant,byakuga has always been practicing to get better,kenpachi is a brute, yet he is equal or slightly stronger then byakuga without any good training just in future potential kenpachi gots him beat alone.

Post Royal Palace Byakuya nuked a Gerard that surpassed the power output of Bankai Kenpachi. Ikka Senjinka literally killed him and gave him a powerup which scaled Vollsterndich Gerard up way past what Kenpachi did to Base Gerard. CFYOW confirmed Byakuya as next in line for Captain Commander after Shunsui. To be Captain Commander, you need the power to put every other captain in line. It's kinda been settled, as much as I love Kenpachi ._.

Eh? Id agree if it wasnt for the fact that the captain commander made Kenpachi a captain even with the numerous nerfs to his strength. Whereas byakuya outdid the banki kenpachi we saw, i highly doubt he scales even near a mastered bankai kenpachi. Love the guy as much as the next, but Byakuyas potential was displayed to all, while Kenpachis had barely been unlocked, yet still blows many a reaper out of the water.

@@lonedogg4857 Mastered/potential future versions isn't the debate, though. The ones we've seen concrete showings for are the combatants being debated, and Byakuya far outclasses Kenpachi from what we see. As for potential, Byakuya's not that old as far as reapers go. He was a literal child/teenager in Turn Back the Pendulum, and is stated to be the strongest head *to ever live* of the strongest of the four noble households, who already have spiritual pressure in a class of their own among reapers. He's got just as much room to grow as Zaraki, if not more so if his dialogue after the royal guard training is anything to go off of (he mentions getting closer to Senbonzakura and seeing their relationship from a different angle, and this alone made his shikai look like his old bankai to As Nodt, who literally used SBK before). So no, future versions of the two characters are highly debatable. As things stand, Byakuya wins by quite the margin considering how they did vs Gerard.

Tᕼᕮ GᖇᕮᗩT SᗩGᕮ Oᐯᕮᖇ ᕼᕮᗩᐯᕮᑎ i personally cant say i agree with his feat against gerard being enough to put him over on kenpachi at all, especially not by some “considerable margin”, implying it wouldn’t be too difficult for byakuya to best Kenpachi. In my eyes, Byakuya could do his best to whittle kenpachi down over the course of the battle, but he doesnt have the power to definitively defeat kenpachi. Whereas in kenpachis case, he possesses both the durability, combat prowess, extreme spiritual pressure, and self suppressed potential to kill byakuya in a single strike. With one arm and an eye patch that dampens his power, he is already an arguably high difficulty opponent for byakuya pre training, and an extreme difficulty opponent for byakuya post training should he remove the eye patch and fight utilizing both hands. Byakuya isnt a push over, and he has shown he can edge out kenpachi. But not by any kind of margin that would give byakuya a definitive leg up on kenpachi, as we’ve seen him overcome far greater gaps already. I wanna see your point in what byakuya has done, seeing as this is indeed a debate between what we’ve seen, but taking all that into account? Still cant see byakuya being the last man standing if the two of them had to fight to the death for any reason. Id give it a 60/40 in favor of Kenpachi. But i have no idea what byakuya has in his arsenal that can keep up with or surpass kenpachis resilience and tenacity, as well as his overwhelmingly explosive power. I can re watch the video and see if I can find your point, but the sole feat youve mentioned against Gerard definitely isnt doing it for me.

@@lonedogg4857 Go reread the Gerard fight, specifically what the Miracle does. It absorbs damage done to him and converts it into power. This means each time Gerard transforms, he becomes stronger than the attack that damaged him, and the power boost is manifest in his size change. Bankai Kenpachi bisected a base Gerard, who then popped Vollsterndich. Vollsterndich is about even with a Bankai as far as power boosts go. You could argue it's higher based on how it's supposed to be a completed Letzt Stil, but let's equal the two for argument's sake. This Gerard chadded through Adult Toshiro's flash freezes multiple times and pushed Bankai Kenpachi into literally imploding from trying to match him. Toshiro manages to freeze him again and is basically panicking because they need more firepower than Bankai Kenpachi. In comes Byakuya with Senkei Ougi: Ikka Senjinka. Senkei Ougi *fragments* Gerard (who is stated immune to the elements and breaks out of Toshiro's ice, so this is a surface freeze; it doesn't make him brittle like a bone freeze would). Note that this Gerard has a *minimum* 10× multiplier on him from Vollsterndich, and this is disregarding the Miracle boost he gets from Bankai Kenpachi. Ikka Senjinka *murders* this Gerard, and the next Miracle boost ups his size by at least 3× (A conservative estimate considering how absolutely shook the captains are despite being colleagues with Komamura and his literal behemoth of a Bankai) and transforms every part of his body into pure energy. We can theorize this is because Byakuya damaged his physical body beyond repair, or because his physical body can no longer contain his power, leading to him needing this astral light form. It doesn't matter what the case is. Ikka Senjinka *murdered* an enemy at least 10× stronger than that Kenpachi's Bankai output (which he can actually use, since the power's literally too much for his body). This entire exchange can be found, I believe, in chapters 660-671. Might be a few here or there but it's around that part of the manga. For CFYOW, - Byakuya is confirmed the next Captain Commander in case Kyoraku kicks the bucket. This implies he at least has the strength to keep Kenpachi in line. - Nozarashi's drawback is listed in volume 3 as 'physical kickback'. This is the exact same thing that happened to Gremmy when he tried to power up to Kenpachi's level. His body couldn't handle it. As far as what we've seen goes, Kenpachi caps off at base Gerard, while Byakuya caps around at least 3× Vollsterndich Gerard. That's a whopping 30× power difference on Ikka Senjinka. Kenpachi is literally dead if Byakuya decides to kill him with Senkei Ougi. I tried to make Kenpachi not look terrible with 'decent margin' but I guess 30× makes things much clearer. The actual number doesn't take the Miracle boost into account. This ironically hypes Adult Toshiro to the same tier, since he restrained Vollsterndich Gerard for Byakuya to deploy Ikka Senjinka in the first place. Bankai Kenpachi < TYBW Adult Toshiro ≤ Senkei TYBW Byakuya

Tᕼᕮ GᖇᕮᗩT SᗩGᕮ Oᐯᕮᖇ ᕼᕮᗩᐯᕮᑎ alright, fair enough. I’ll say I agree with the feat of power, but cant see it equating to and overall win for Byakuya at the end of the day. A powerful attack to be sure, one that would most definitely kill Kenpachi. But i’d definitely need more examples of attacks of such a caliber if im to believe Byakuya capable of killing kenpachi in a fight, because a single kill strike isnt gonna do it. Not for me anyways. Because taking that attack and making it the reason he wins is no different from completely ignoring things like durability, endurance, stamina, natural prowess and combat IQ. He has the harder hitting attack for the time being (because I whole heartily believe kenpachi can match that damage when he grows to the point of managing his own power) but that aint enough to put him over. Not at all. One hard hit doesnt make him the victor against an opponent who literally hasnt caught up to his own power. But i’ll concede in saying for the time being, maybe for a few hundred years, Byakuya is capable of keeping Kenpachi in line.

Yea I'm not convinced, I think it would be super close but I'm leaning towards RG Byakuya winning. Although one thing I'm hoping the anime is able to expand on is giving both characters, especially RG byakuya, more screentime & feats so discussions/debates like this are easier to have.

In the Sokyoku battle, if Ichigo wasn't being a cocky snob and went Ban Kai after Byakuya went Ban Kai, I highly doubt Ichigo would have been injured at all; his Ban Kai, lore-wise, has the same reminiscent weakness as Isshin's, that is that the reiatsu their Ban Kai produces gives them a massive strain on their bodies; and Ichigo went Ban Kai, heavily injured. He was fighting Yammy easy during their first encounter, slicing off Yammy's arm like butter, after effortlessly blocking a punch, reverse-one handed. But we all know what happened next. Right now, I only see Ichigo being the only one capable of taking on Kenpachi on their current levels; even Kyoraku won't even try it. In fact, I think Renji can take on Byakuya at this point. :/

Injury doesn't stop Ichigo to go Bankai unlike Isshin, Ichigo Bankai doesn't even wear off when he's pratically death. And the stress he put on his body can be released by throwing getsuga tensho as explained and shown by Hollow Ichigo.

@@TheEllord33 Hmm, that's not how I saw it; but you do have a point. Still; Ichigo was heavily wounded prior to Ban Kai, so I think my point stands; Byakuya practically was helpless until Senkei, and Ichigo was hard to keep track in the initial clash.

Kenpachi's stolen sword is either a zanpakutou that someone else completed, or an asauchi that wasn't fully imprinted on by the original owner. I lean towards the latter, since zanpakutou are essentially a part of the shinigami (as seen with Ichigo's training with the RG), so there would still be room for him to influence the sword if it wasn't completed by the owner.. but either way, it means it's not his true zanpakutou. Essentially, another Ichigo situation, in a wayby Ouetsu and gained a proper zanpakutou which he could use more efficiently, gaining access to his full power. Then he goes and spends 10 years mastering bankai. I somehow doubt Byakuya would still be relative to that kind of insanity.

To me and this is my own opinion, but to me I say if these two were to ever fight again it would just result in both of them collapsing from exhaustion of pushing themselves beyond their own limits. With that being said I vote for Kenpachi emerging victorious since he literally fights for the blood lust and enjoys being pushed past his limits. As I said, though, I just think it would be a tie between these two
