One of the first things that I noticed about this song is in the first verse he says "So much for ditching this town and hanging out on the coast...." and in the last verse is says "She hugged them both and headed off to the west coast". She's picking up where he left off.

I've heard this song so many times it just grabs you. Now that my son is grown now and just graduated basic training for the Army. He will be training to be an Army Ranger and has started his own journey in life. I've had custody of my son since he was 4. It's hard on old dad to to let go but he's focused on the next chapter in his life. This dad couldn't be more proud

@@franquil85conn I appreciate the kind words and encouragement for my son. He was an All Star every year in Little League and continued to do so in the Babe Ruth League as well. Every coach wanted him on their team cause he was the only switch hitter in the league and the top left handed pitcher. Those are the days I miss the most. He never gave up on he was to accomplish and strive to do better each time. I ran across my baseball glove that I had gotten when he was younger. It made me tear up cause it looks old and weathered now. Can't get that time back. Better enjoy your little ones while you can. I'm getting us both new gloves for Christmas

It surely is a beautiful song but that’s how most country music works it tells a story in one way or another. I loved hearing your story at the end. I’m a father of six and our youngest moved out on his 18 birthday to start his life and it was also bittersweet he’s now 22 and he’s doing well but I sure do miss the old times but always wish the best and help where I can for every single one of them little shitheads lol that song put me in my feelings this morning

Man...you hit my heart strings on this one. Especially your story about your baby girl. My only child...My baby girl just got married last December. Even though she was 24 at that time, had graduated collage and was building her life, i still saw her as MY baby girl. That week leading up to the wedding, OMG i was a complete mess. and also a mess for a couple of weeks after. But walking her down that isle, seeing her smile looking at the young man that was about to be my son in law, and seeing the smile on his face seeing her walking toward him. Thats a memory i will cherish forever. BUT she WILL ALWAYS BE MY BABY GIRL! God Bless you man and thank you for this reaction.

I'm not even gonna speak on this reaction (it speaks for itself... great job Van!!).... as far as more Kenny Chesney songs??? DUDE!! He has a HUGE catalogue of NOTHING but hits..... some are fun, funny, moving, sad but inspiring, thought provoking etc., etc., etc.... continue with him. He's a HUGE fixture in the Country world for GOOD reason!!! Check out some of these..... for serious/inspiring: "DON"T BLINK", "THE GOOD STUFF", "I GO BACK".... for fun: "SHE THINKS MY TRACTOR'S SEXY", "ALL THE PRETTY GIRLS", "AMERICAN KIDS"..... for sexy: "COME OVER" (known as the best/classiest booty call song EVER!! lol!!) "TIP OF MY TONGUE" also "YOU AND TEQILLA" and for the greatest nostalgic-type song and an ode to the American high school football experience..... "THE BOYS OF FALL"..... the video for that is real footage and tugs at the heart (in a GOOD WAY)!!! That's JUST FOR STARTERS (and JUST off the top of my head!!) for Kenny Chesney songs..... the list at this point is damn near endless!!! Great pick and reaction!!!

The last verse hits me hard. I have 3 daughters. They are all grown and living their lives. As proud as I am of each of them it hurts and scares me as a father to see them leave my protection.

My daughter is a teen mom. I wish my granddaughters daddy wanted to be in her life. He’s really missing out. They took off out of state after we found out. That baby is loved so much by so many. I pray one day he comes around. ❤

I knew you'd be thinking about your girl and the walk down the aisle to come. Such a beautiful story. 😊

I'm really glad that you're still on this country journey, waiting for you to very soon drop all of your preconceived notions about country music 😁 Every 'country' reaction you do I see them coming down a bit more so great job! 'When the sun goes down' and 'No shoes, no shirt, no problem' by Kenny Chesney are pretty cool songs as well! 😇💜

Country music at its best! Always a story. As others have said, please listen to "Don't Blink" or "I Go Back". My favorite songs by him and he has many
