If the Western world ever needed the Lord it’s now.
As a small boy, I loved this music and words! I would cry then and even now at 65 I still cry. YES Jesus is fairer than all !!!! I truly love you Yeshua, and the Father and the Holy Spirit. I am dying now, bed bound, very ill, was once a cathedral choirmaster, organist, teacher, violist, composer and expert in children's and men and boy choirs, went to Westminster Choir College, and soooo much more. Yet all is nothing and dust except the love in my heart and soul for my beloved Jesus.

My thoughts and prayers are with you Amen!
As a life-long Minnesotan, I can say that we ALL are so very proud of St.Olaf College Choir, and of all the very fine choirs in our state. It's part of our heritage.

Amen!
Every student at St. Olaf can sing this. You should hear the whole student congregation sing it in harmony at a church service. Lots of tears!

I see that St. Olaf College posted this piece the day after Prof. Jennings died. What a fitting tribute!
Weeping, weeping weeping. The tears are flowing down my cheeks.
This moves me every time I watch it.
This director possessed the secret of all great directors, the mysterious , rythmic pulse that draws his choir in to his genius and then emanates, in the perfect blending of human voices. No collection of man-made instruments could so exquisitely express the tonal vibrations of the Universe. Only a Conductor such as Jennings and his acapella Choir have brought us to this Sacred place.

Can't agree more 💯
Fair are the meadows, Fair are the woodlands, Robed in flowers of blooming spring; Jesus is fairer, Jesus is purer; He makes our sorrowing spirit sing. Beautiful Savior, Lord of the nations, Son of God and Son of Man! Glory and honor, Praise, adoration, Now and forevermore be Thine, Now and forevermore be Thine!
What can I say? Truly Amazing. Can you imagine what worship will be like in heaven? Perfect harmony 🙏🏽❤️

This song sounds fantastic at a worship service!
I've listened to this upwards of 100 times. Always ending in tears. So beautiful.
What a GREAT humble man, nothing of himself. Just heavenly humility in his greatness.
Our director graduated from St. Olaf, which made it so much easier. Looking back, I realize he was trying to instill the "St. Olaf Sound". We always did this song at the end of every single concert, but the best performance we had was a Chorale reunion 3 years ago. It was so difficult to get through the song without crying. We ALMOST sounded as good as this choir. Thanks for the memories.
Professor Jennings' hands were magic 😍
Beautiful hymn, led and sung beautifully. Praise The Lord.
It is Christmas 2019 and I have watched this, as I do each Christmas. The performance of this hymn brings tears to my eyes. It captures the wonder, joy, and beauty of Christmas to me. And it is a tribute to a life well lived, and a tribute to those in our lives who have cared about us, taught us, and helped mold us into who we are. Dr. Jennings was such a man to so many at St. Olaf, and they were blessed with a memorable opportunity to return and celebrate this very special day with him.

It is Christmas 2022 and I have watched this again, as I do each Christmas. The performance of this hymn still brings tears to my eyes. We all have had such people in our lives: parents, relatives, friends, teachers, and so many others. Take a moment to think of one such person - and be grateful. How pleased they would be to know that you are grateful.
A masterclass in expressive conducting. Solo Deo Gloria. Well done, good and faithful servant, and fellow UIUC music school alum!
If you don't like this or appreciate the quality of Dr. Jennings, there is nothing that can be done for you.
Tears Started Before the Intro Was Even Finished...
Absolutely stunning! I'm in tears just sitting here.
Missing this concert, and singing one more time under this genius of a conductor is one of my greatest regrets. I was involved in two productions in Germany (where I live) and when I wrote to Dr. Jennings and told him I couldn't be there, and why I could not, he wrote backk that he was proud of me and my career, and that this is the way he'd want it for me. He was not only a great conductor, but a true gentleman. I think of you, Dr. Jennings, each time I open my mouth and sing, and re-live those great lessons you are still teaching me. God Bless you, KJ. I'd say I miss you, but you are so present in all of our lives.

Beautiful tribute. Dr Jennings blessed the world with such beautiful music. Good for the choir, every eye on the conductor, as should be. Together they performed a gorgeous hymn and gave the world an everlasting golden standard. Thank you.
Amen!!! Bless New Year 2024!!!
I can feel the movement of the spirit in the song.Oh my little soul is so soft and tender now.
Much needed solace and calm amidst a world of tormoil
This rendition has more than the wow factor. If ever you doubted the existence of God, now it has been revealed.
Oh. My. Goodness. Words cannot describe the end of a life's work resulting in such beauty. What beautiful singing. What a marvelous legacy.

Oh, my soul, this is breathtakingly beautiful!
What an extraordinary moment....I will stop taking now!
Beautiful adaption of my favorite hymn of all time.
I want to sing this in Heaven . Although not an alumna of St Olaf I don’t think they’ll mind if I slip into the tenor section and sing along with countless others of the ransomed and redeemed - to the very Face of that Fairest Lord Jesus .

Goose bumps. Every time.
Beautiful vocal harmonics
This speaks to my heart and soul.
How beautiful and wonderful to hear that anthem again!
Tellement beau cantique que tout chrétien à travers le monde, chante. Gloire à Dieu. En français, le titre est TOI QUI DISPOSES DE TOUTE CHOSE. Amen!
Holy Moly. My daughter attended St Olaf and we were blessed to have attended a few of their Christmas Concerts. I cannot say how deeply moved I have always been by this piece. And to see it performed by so many alum, conducted by him, only Holy Moly.
Praise be Jesus Christ.
BEAUTIFUL, when I hear the Capital University Chapel Choir and the St. Olaf Choir sing this ABSOLUTELY beautiful praise to Our Savior, Jesus!!!!!
The Wonderful Praise to Almighty God, What a gracious Conductor,
1. Beautiful Savior, King of creation, Son of God and Son of Man! Truly I'd love Thee, truly I'd serve thee, Light of my soul, my Joy, my Crown. 2. Fair are the meadows, Fair are the woodlands, Robed in flow'rs of blooming spring; Jesus is fairer, Jesus is purer; He makes our sorrowing spirit sing. 3. Beautiful Savior, Lord of the nations, Son of God and Son of Man! Glory and honor, Praise, adoration, Now and forevermore be Thine!
One of my all-time favorite hymns which I have played many times as an organist.
So so beautiful. Thank you. I know this tune as Fairest Lord Jesus x sing my own prayers to it. Now there is this...
This was so nice to hear. Thanks for posting it.

This brought chills it was so beautiful. My goodness!
Thank you for sharing this. The world seems a little brighter.
It gives me goose bumps!
I look upon the crowd of people gathered and think of 2 things. #1. Can you imagine how the crowd is even bigger in heaven praising God ? Unimaginable. #2. Remember when we could stand so close to one another? Is this but a memory?

Gorgeous. St. Olaf qas always renowned for music. I knew several grads who made me seriously consider going there. Too bad that they have gone from being a serious academic institution to just another home of wokedom.

Please don’t allow the woke liberals any opportunity to enforce their destructive ideology and agenda which ruins the highly esteemed college its golden standard of academic excellence. Stand up! Stand up! Stand up for Jesus! Keep the faith of our fathers and the lamps of learning burning brightly. I shall continue my prayers that God grant us wisdom for the living of each hour and grant us courage for the living of these days. Agape, Elizabeth Conboy
