I have this exact problem and was quoted by a repairman $350 for this to be done. What is the appropriate pricing? I am not sure I can do this myself.

Hello! We can not comment on cost as it all depends on the value you are receiving from that company and where you live. Things to consider: Are they Profesional? On time? Licensed? Insured? Timely? Etc... All of these things will add value to the cost of repair. Someone might do this repair for $100, and some will do it for $400. The correct answer is what it's worth for you. You can definitely do this yourself, and if you're not confident you can; no shame in hiring a professional! Hope this helps!👨🔧

Thanks for the tip on how to re-strap the gasket, it was a time saver! After changing the part (OEM) on this same model I’m still getting the DE1 Error half way through the wash and also towards the end of the wash. Any advice on what else it can be? Do I need to perform a reset of some sort? Thanks in advance.

Hello! The error is related to the door latch only. Rarely does the control board cause this error but is not impossible. Also check to see if the door is latching properly. Sometimes the door can bend over time causing it too bend downward and not latch properly. Make sure the door is level. If not, then you'll need to look into replacing the door hinge. If it's not bent bad, you can lift the door slightly before close to ensure a tight lock. Also check the striker on the door for any wear. Hope this helps!
