I am not the biggest KR fan, but I can appreciate that she was in an impossible situation when Regis began stating publicly that a) the show never asked him back and b) Kelly never spoke to him again after he left. Both of these claims were technically untrue, but if KR were to say something at the time, she would essentially be saying that Regis was lying. If she stayed silent (which she did until the book) it would seem like his claims were true. Regis was in his mid 80s when he spoke about this, and he was beloved by the public. It would have been hard to correct him. Although ABC tried when they put out footage of him returning to LIVE for a Halloween show. In that same footage he is seen talking to and joking with Kelly backstage. When Regis passed, Kelly had to comment on his death (how could she not they worked together for a decade) and to her credit, she never brought up the things he said. I really can’t blame her for telling her side of the story now in her book. There are always two sides to every story. Perhaps the truth is somewhere in the middle.

Why would Regis lie about this situation? Kelly shows her true colors when the attention is not focused on her. She showed ger true colors when she threw a fit and refused to go to work for 2 days when Michael Strahan left for GMA. She is making 20 million dollars per year. What else does she want for chatting for an hour a day? Many people work very hard each day for very little money. Sad she has to tear down Regis after he has passed on. 😢

She didn't get along with Regis. She didn't get along with Michael Strahan. Hmmm. 🤔

I want to know where she showed love to Regis in the book. I read it and can’t find where she shows love. More like tossing him under a bus.

Regis worked with Kathy Lee for years with no issue. Some people just don’t work well together.

I liked Kelly in this interview. I think she and Andy would make great co-hosts on a show.

Hard to hear them over the music...

I like Kelly bc she’s funny, works hard and really made a life/family for herself with Mark. Even when Regis went on about ND/football etc (borrrrrring!!) it was admirable that her eyes didn’t glaze over. He was a funny man but clearly a handful to endure. I'm sure nobody held a gun to head but that she applied for the position, I'm not in to football either but it never bothered him talking about it and she could've always quit. All i saw was her having FUN hosting the show, if she was so fake about the friendship what ever she says can't be trusted, the show has never been as good after Regis left.

Regis is not alive to defend himself and Andy should keep out of it because Regis is not around to tell his side of the story.

Nothing bad. She only said what he claimed (that she never spoke to him after he left and never invited him back to the show) wasn't true.

She’s using Regis to publicize her book for financial gain. It’s really disgusting. Regis would’ve had no reason to lie. I completely believe that she was icy towards him after he retired. She had the same reaction to Michael Strahan’s departure. Thinking that they owed her a heads up or explanation before making their own personal choice to move on is ridiculous. She wasn’t Regis’ or Michael’s boss, and she wouldn’t be anywhere without Regis. She’s not doing anything to help herself by trying to drag Regis down after his death. It only makes her look petty and conceited. She should be ashamed of herself

There are some people who don’t consider other people their friends either because they don’t know them or feel like they have enough people in their life and that’s ok. Kelly Ripa is such an honest and genuine woman who I can’t stop watching on tv.

Interesting, another "tell all" book about a relationship they pushed as wonderful on air and now that the other person is gone they trash for money. Seems from others coming out about her that she and her destructive narcissistic behavior was (and is?) the issue. No basic human decency there, I want be reading it or watching anything she does. As soon as Kelly Ripa started making more money, she became obnoxious and I could tell Regis wasn't having it. It's sad how she pretended to adore him and now that he passed away she's taking cheap shots at him. I stopped watching the show because she is unbearable to watch.
