I think people want to hate her but Regis wanted to leave because he wanted to.

Regis leaving had nothing to do with her.

Regis did admit years later that he didn’t want to leave, that it was a breakdown in contract negotiations.

@@leonietaylor7054 Kelly wasn’t the reason he left, but she wasn’t enough to make him stay. 💰 Their on-air relationship was a farce. He didn’t treat her well, she pretended that all was great and took it too far, especially since she was simmering with resentment. If you watch their very first official show together, you’ll see all of his nasty barbs towards her. In terms of Regis never being asked to return to the show, the jury is out. But whether he was or was not, it seems to me that this would have been entirely the decision of production, Kelly was just the talent. Just like with Degeneres, we as viewers need to accept that they are acting!!! Can feel like an odd betrayal when they are invited into your home every day. Hollywood!!

No, she couldn't. It's not her show. She's just one of the co-hosts. Other people decide what's said and done on air.

Even Kathy Lee said she and Regis became friends when she left the show. I think Regis just didn’t make friends with his co-hosts and he didn’t befriend Kelly after he left bc the age diff was just too great and they didn’t have much in common. Also, people are entitled to not be friends outside of work. Regis could have corrected the record as could she, and BOTH chose not too.

KELLY Kelly Kelly, 🙄 Ive been watching the show for 38 years. You treated him like he was an old has been . He felt it. I remember when he came forward and he wondered why you never acknowledged him after he left. I saw a girl who couldn't wait for him to go so it could be all yours. My opinion.

@@ZeeGoes What R-anne is pointing out and The Network not interested in renewing his contract are too different things. I don't think she's blaming Kelly for that. Regis however, did make it clear that he was never invited back TO CO-HOST the show, even as a guest and that's because he knew he could've been! Same with Strahan, he said on his last day, he would be happy to come back and Guest Co-Host if needed, but also was never invited and I do think she did have a hand in that. She holds a grudge like nobody's business. In her book, she talks about something (trivial) Regis said on her first day, 21 yrs ago (probably kidding) that she didn't like and I guess never forgot!!

It’s not her fault Regis left. I loved Regis, but near the end of his tenure on the show I noticed he wasn’t remembering guests names etc. I could see it was time for him to leave.

It’s interesting her first thought was everyone knew but me and that’s the same thought that enraged her about Strahan’s exit. She seems to jump to the disrespect first, and the departure second.

Letterman said that Regis was forced out. His demographic were old ladies. Regis didn't own his show as a producer, so the ABC execs made the decision to get rid of him.

Kelly wants to take the high road and not discuss Regis leaving the show until it profits her.
