@Derek Nippl-e Silver is not that precious. A thin silver ring for rosary decade costs about five bucks. Literally cheaper than a half-decent dinner. So, if you don't want diamonds, fine, there are good moral reasons to avoid them, but if you plan to get married, I bet you aren't so poor you can't afford a golden ring.

Kelly clearly has a different idea of proposing than most people. Most of the time, the men buy the ring in secret so they can surprise their partner with the proposal. I think it's a great idea personally. I think he's right too, the process currently is quite shit. You have an idea in mind of what you want a ring to look like and you wonder around different stores until you spot a ring that is close enough to what you imagined and that your wife will enjoy. Making it yourself is a nice option.

Average Commenter I think that’s a reasonable suggestion. As he said, 60% of their sales were to couples choosing together. If it’s something I’m going to be wearing for the rest of my life, I’d want to choose it. Just the same as how you shouldn’t propose to someone without first discussing whether marriage is something they want, a ring shouldn’t be a complete surprise either.

Anyone has the right to offer a service they think is in demand. If there is a market it will sell. Kelly, just because you think it's sad does not make it so. I could easily see a personalised ring meaning more than an off the shelf one, a demonstration of how well the proposer knows the recipient perhaps.

Kelly is the saddest member in the history of the show, I don’t remember I have ever seen her smiling

Hi, I’m Jenny. I love your business - it’s a great idea, the market is huge and the margins are amazing, and for that reason, I’m out.

I love how she refers to it as a "Fake Ring," meanwhile sterling silver is a precious metal. There are other metals rarer than it, but it's still a precious metal. As for diamonds, they're common as dirt! They're nothing more than shiny rocks. Just like Swarovski crystals. The only difference being that, those in the industry at the very top keep diamond prices artificially inflated by deliberately limiting the supply available to the general public to a very small percentage of the actual supply out in the world. Yet she calls it a fake ring. Okay.... Let's face it, even men who know truth still go out and buy diamond engagement rings because that's what most women expect to be given during a one-knee proposal.

My engagement ring is actually a sapphire. Which imho is a very under rated stone. It comes in any colour you can think of and is much more affordable than diamonds, so you have colour choice and you can afford a decent sized rock, as opposed to the tiny diamonds most people can only afford in a normal ring. People need to look elsewhere than diamonds because they're just over rated. Some fakes cannot be told apart without a probe so there's no aesthetic advantage to a real diamond, and getting a good quality one of a decent size is impossible for most of us, so we end up with crappy quality small stones in ugly looking settings. I truly hate those rings made up of poor quality small diamonds.

This is such an great idea! Not only for marriage rings, but if you want to buy a present for your mother or your sister, you can design very unique ring and for a very good price...

To quote Jenny Campbell when she emerged from her mother's womb: "I'm out"

My partner designed my ring online in a website in America and proposed in New York. I love the fact my ring is not off the shelf and he has put the thought into the ring, the setting and the diamond. I can always say my ring was designed by my partner and that for me is the best part!

I am an older woman but agree that times have changed. Whether it's buying or choosing an engagement ring together on a laptop or receiving your partners great grandmothers engagement ring and pretending it's the most beautiful ring and exactly what you wanted is no longer something shrouded in romance. I think this is a great idea and it can be designed to suit the couple's budget. Yes, I deliberately said couple's because most of the current young generation don't follow the same tradition of dating, getting engaged, getting married, having children where the mother stays at home and raises children while the husband solely finances the family. Engagements often happen long after the couple have moved in together and had children so they are both involved in the financial situation and have knowledge of what and how much they can spend on a ring.

As soon as he finished his presentation I was left looking for the website haha, I think it’s an incredible idea and I would certainly use it. The dragons were very harsh. Most men or women buy their rings in secret then propose

Thank you, someone who gets it! Even if the man picks it out alone, it is something that has more than just financial value and convenience attached to it. Proposing is just a heartfelt gesture, to reduce it to just practicalities is kind of cold. It is like buying a house ; it is a building in and of itself but ppl are what make it a HOME.
