Having one mag in the gun and 2 ready in the stock defeats the purpose of the New York safe act and 30 round “high capacity” aka standard mags I love it lol. There’s always ways around that unconstitutional law. I haven’t seen any of these rifles around my area in the auburn/Syracuse area.

I'm debating on making my lower compliant before I move up there, or just keeping it out of NY state, and buying one of these. The keltec stuff just seems like a roll of the dice.

Truck gun. Way better ergonomics than most of the Ny-compliant AR options out there.

Yeah, I agree. Kel Tec should definitely make more of these. If they'd dedicate their resources to refining the gun just a little more & making more of them, they'd have a winner. Great video, thanks for sharing it 👍

if KEL-TEC made the barreled upper receiver out of aluminum it would be a perfect 5.56mm semi-auto rifle.

I bought the SU16CA model several years back, and I love it!! I've shot over 2500 rounds through it, and it's still going strong! I had to swap out that God awful factory bi-pod it came with, and installed Kel-Tec SU16 compact forend, new bipod, and a Strike Industries Warhog compensator. Looks & shoots GREAT!!

Squirt some oil in it, autos won’t run dry. I ran into the same thing with a Benelli Supersport shooting sporting clays. It got dry and was failing to load because I oiled it too lightly. Luckily, they had bottles of oil every few stations so I gave it a liberal squirt and it was running again.

I bought a CA model almost a year ago, simply because I wanted a semi automatic rifle and the SU 16 was offered for 750€ back then, next best option would have been 1100€. I love this thing, over about 400 rounds out of Magpul P Mags I had not a single failure and it's a bit of a fun project to work on as I'm making it my emergency rifle. The rear sights are really bad which is why I've recently put a Victoptics S6 LPVO on it, the lack of picatinny rails are a shame but it was another fun project to put a rail on the handguard and a light on it. Overall, I can't complain about my purchase, it's hard to modify for certain needs but it comes with a lifelong warranty for the first owner, so I'm definitely gonna keep it.

I looked at the SU16 many years ago but never did pick one up. I do however, really like the holosun red dots. You get a pretty nice flame out of that thing every now and then. Cool gun and great video man!

There is a spring for the AK47. Don’t quote me but I think it’s called the AKG47 this spring system replaces the bipod spring

16C is the unit that they should produce more of. It is the under folder that can be fired while folded. Replace the silly bipod forend with a railed one and you have the truck/car/get me home rifle supreme.

Had one of these about 12 years ago. Sold it for some reason. Regret that along with the AR I sold 2 weeks before the psycho shot up the theatre in Colorado which doubled AR prices for a while.

Kel Tec gets a bad rap pretty much like Taurus (don't own any) I guess. I've owned a CA model here in Kalifornia since 2017. Close to 2k rounds , never cleaned , no cracks , no jams , extra mags don't fall out of the stock while shooting. No red dot just factory sights and I can hit pretty much anything with my 62 yr old eyes. My only complaint is no easy way to attach a sling. I know there are ways but I just use a slip on shotgun sling. None of the complaints you usually hear I have had none. I'd buy another one if they ever came available , beats a grip fin or maglock. And it's use FOR ME is just a camping rifle , SD sort of thing. I don't care much for AR's anyway I prefer larger rounds from a rifle if it's gonna be used for anything serious. YMMV

Is it really a big problem for left-handed people? In hot weather I wouldn't be able to comfortably wear one of those fabric things that slide over one's forearms (I forget the name). I want one of these, but I am left-handed, and I don't think I could shoot it right-handed. Maybe there's something else that I could put on my arm if necessary. Edit: I just did some searching, and apparently they make a Dynamic Deflector, and some people are saying that they had no problems even without that.

Im guessing that the sight has a 2 to 3 Moa dot, So a 2" group is great! And go and put a ring on thats gals finger!

Put an AR extractor on it and it will run great even when dirty.

I live in Texas, a free state, and it saddens me that people live under unconstitutional laws like you describe.

Kel-Tec aren't my cup of tea....some of their designs are very innovative...just wish the quality was a little higher...thanks for sharing

This rifle will require a license under the new law…

A lot of people won’t buy this rifle because it’s not “tacticool”‘enough for them. But I have found my SU-16 to be just as good or better than any AR platform out there. It has chewed through all ammo I’ve put through it and I think the AK style piston design is superior anyway. It’s lightweight and does exactly what is needed and accepts AR mags. The only reason these don’t sell more is because everyone is an “operator” now days and has to have a super cool tactical AR.
