Paul can get any sound he wants and chime in with any legend seamlessly. He’s also one of the few super nice guys that gets the respect of all the bad asses because he’s just that knowledgeable and intelligent and uninhibited without a hint of pretense. In other words yes nerdy Paul Schaffer is cool.

Sounds to me like Paul Shaffer was trying to interpret Keef's British speaking for the American audience. By repeating what Keef was saying but in an American way. Obviously T.v. was a lot different in those days. Lot to do with the over exposure today's artists are getting. It was so cool when you knew your favorite rock star was going to be on a t.v. so cool that a lot of us kids would stay over another friends house so you could enjoy the appearance with your best friends. Now any kid can catch the latest rockstar experience at their fingertips. Nothing for today's youth to share with each other on a different level like said above.

My opinion too. Somehow he always seems to get the music director job during the hall of fame, which is a joke in itself, blowouts. All I see is him jumping around try to get some attention from the real stars who in turn hardly even notice him. Never like him or especially the giggling idiot Dave.

Dan Michaels I don't think Shaffer tries to compare himself to Richards. Paul is technically proficient, and is a good musical director. From all accounts, he's a nice guy. Richards plays by touch and feel, and needs no evaluation of talent by me. I'm a huge fan.

At least Keith admits that he has ripped himself off. The riff from Rocks Off is the same as Before They Make Me Run among other Stones song that sound the same.. However Brian Jones came up with the riff on The Last Time, not Keith. and Jones had a lot to do with all the other early stones hits espically Ruby Tuesday and Paint it Black but he and was never given any writing credit so he quit in 1969 and died the same year. Too bad. I'm glad the 3 remaining Stones are still out there at 75 years old but I did not want to pay 300 bucks to see them last time they were in town.
