Keir Starmer's pitch to the nation: Political experts analyse every word
“It’s black and white. It’s very serious. Its sleeves rolled up. It’s no suit jacket.”
Starmer’s “incredibly slick” pre-election speech was designed to “appeal to as many people as possible". "They still think they need to do quite a lot to win”, says Kate McCann.

In the UK, lots of businesses are closed, lots of bars and restaurants, lots of shopping centers instead of investing and rebuilding businesses, they imposed more taxes and higher interest rates so i.e. the richest are getting richer on the wallets of the poor.
Housing? This is arguably one of the most important issues considering it is the single highest outlay most people have via rent or mortgage costs, also social housing that is desperately needed.

They have spoken about housing plenty, just most of the media don't bother to cover it. The speech is covering the "first steps", aka what parts should be achievable sooner than the rest, and which are important for voters. The housing policy will take time to ramp up, but they promise 1.5million homes in 5 years, much of which will be social housing.

Ha ha....Well it is New Labour 2.0, as advised by Tony Bliar....BUT....I am surprised Nigel didn't point out that the 5 pledges DO NOT INCLUDE anything on LEGAL immigration.....
I think the pledge card is very important, it will be difficult for the Tories to parrot the line that "Labour has no plan" if every voter gets a card through their door with some of Labour's plans on it.

Funny how the Tories can it seems in the media get away with saying ‘the pandemic, Ukraine war etc’ (despite for example the NHS waiting lists being terrible compared to 2010, pre pandemic). But those same circumstances (plus the Truss catastrophe) are never applicable here.

The UK is the slowest growing economy in Europe post Covid. How Rishi Sunak is so proud of Tory governing is beyond me! About time Kier Starmer went for the jugular and got stuck in to the serious issues!

Very intelligent 'SIR' Keir Starmer the first choice💮 In Christian tradition, the seven heavenly virtues combine the four cardinal virtues of prudence, justice, temperance, and fortitude with the three theological virtues of faith, hope, and charity. The seven capital virtues, also known as contrary or remedial virtues, are those opposite the seven deadly sins. They are often enumerated as chastity, temperance, charity, diligence, patience, kindness, and humility.
