Keeway Superlight - New rider experience - Ride to New Forest, part 1

Taking my best beastie out with my crew to the New Forest, Hampshire. Using my new Gopro Hero 4 Black (shout out to Marine on Facebook as thanks). Talking about my little new rider errors and have a glance at a Yamaha Virago...

    I also have the superlight se and I love it, do you find towards the acceleration towards 7000rpm feels a little shakey? I don't like to push it too higher revs really but on a roads when merging with traffic I wamtbto get going and out the way do you find it doesn't like the higher revs? Maybe it's just the 125cc not having an awful lot if power. But all and all it feels like a proper bike and it sounds and handles well. Do you find the stock tyres are a little slider in the wet? I'm unsure weather to try different tyres to see if more expensive tyres make a difference, I've heard on reviews that the stock tyres on the keeway are useless in the wet but with them being brand new im hesitant to replace them until its needed, what do you think?

  • @TheValkyrieBiker

    @TheValkyrieBiker

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi Nicholas, thank you for your comments and questions. I find it a little harder at 50 miles an hour only in my lid. The wind against the wind shield can buffet little when a side wind catches. As for the revs, i don't think i have pushed past that 7000rpm to be honest as still breaking in the bike. Perhaps another owner on this channel can answer your question as I don't wish to give you a guess and rather you have facts for that one :) Tyres are so important, especially on the wet. I have not had problems myself with the stock but there are those that have changed the tyres. Again, please if anyone has does this can they advise Nicholas? I would certainly ask the shop where you buy the bike from for advise as they should be bikers and welcome versed with the safety of tyre to tarmac requirements in the wet. x

    The tyres criminal. Several cracked ribs, swollen hip for about 10 weeks, heavy bruising to majority of right thigh and an abrasion to the kneecap that has produced an substantial keloid scar. Plus to rub salt in the wounds my insurance wrote the bike off because economically it wasn't worth waiting to get the parts in from China. Many of the the components are not available in UK. If they were the bike could have been repaired. Even if you are on a budget, buying this bike is a false economy. Wish I had bought my Honda PCX back when I forked out this pile scrap metal. 😒
