Not one of my 4 cats will sit still like this cat. The vast majority of cats will fight like wild animals but vets always show the most relaxed cats in the world, lol.

thank you for sharing! It would be very difficult to focus on topic of how to clean the different areas if Cookie (in video) was getting all worked up. He's a little stressed and tense but handles the stress pretty well. :)

My cat lets me groom him easily. It depends on your relationship with your cat & if you know how to handle animals. The vet did a great job demonstrating! I watched to see if there were any tips I could learn since I’m always looking to improve :)

@@zbedfi I've got four cats and have had many over the last 50+ years. I really know how to handle cats but it's a known fact that rescued cats sometimes had horrible lives as kittens and that experience hard wires them to NOT want to be handled and you can push them too far too fast. They all get play time, brushing daily and love but the love is only what they will accept without feeling threatened. They all have improved over the course of several years but no where near calm and normal and my experience is that many never really get over those first weeks being mistreated as kittens. Only one cat is very relaxed around people. One of my cats will cower if you pass him on the steps like you are trying to hunt him down and so we know to just go slow or stop and let him pass in his state of panic, which he gets over right away. And at times he'll even seek out affection although if you try to gently pick him up get ready to get scratched as he goes berserk to get away.

I have to work in the corner of the eye downward. Where any fluids would drain. Then across when that is cleaned. I have Himalayan & Ragdolls.

Yes you’re right! Do clean away the dirt from the corners (especially the inner one) prior to cleaning along their eyelids ☺️

I see people saying that they don't have NaCl(saline solution) where they live... That's literally impossible, unless there is no pharmacy/drugstore around you. If there is a pharmacy/drugstore around you they will have this 100%. This is the most basic and key stuff that a pharmacy/drugstore sell. Don't look for this at pet stores. Also the smaller bottle you buy the more expensive it is, so buy big bottles or at least where I live the big bottles are a lot better value than the smaller ones.

How ti get them to sit still like that though. What happens when they resist with paws

You can get the regular saline (sodium chloride, NaCl) used for irrigation from pharmacies

Try using a damp towel or cotton to dab the black area, if it softens and comes out good! If it doesn’t then it’s probably pigmentation. 😊

You can get cat wipes for eyes and ears and fur can I use that cus I already bought like 5packs of it😂

Do not use baking soda! Saline is very easy to make yourself if you cant find it in any stores near you; just boil 1dl of water with 1ml of salt, let it cool down, and done! Saline solution!

Maybe offer him a choice to come to your finger when you want to touch his nose. Sometimes all we need to do is to find out what their needs are for safety prior to or as we perform the grooming procedures. Breaking up the grooming experiences and using positive distractions might also be helpful. :)
