We sit with Jim Walmsley in his garage to talk about his Olympic Trials Marathon race, his canceled races, and his newfound affinity for Zwift. Even without UTMB and Comrades, Jim still is finding focus in his training, and balance in his life.

Comrades!!!!!!!!!! South Africa!!!!!!!! I started watching you run during Lockdown. You are super fantastic. When you do get to run the big C, I will be over the moon. You will totally nail it and I will be there to cheer you on.
Most of the time im out for a run, i have thoughts for Jim. It is just the truth. He is my role model when it comes to determination and commitment. I wish i can tell him more often. thanks Jim for being there and showing up !
Jim is actually 50% human 50% gazelle 50% wolverine. So it’s mostly that he’s got an extra 50% over the rest of us but the animal/X-Men DNA is also helpful.

You are NOT a cowboy
Sadly Jim has very weak legs and glutes... he only runs quick due to being very thin. Get in the gym Jim and build strength in your ankles, calves and glutes to be able to compete against the true elites.
