What a talent Keely fantastic timed run.
She'll push Athing to a really fast time in Oregon!!

She nearly beat her.
Well Keeley looks 3 sec faster than last year, and is a year older. Her running looked more streamlined and less laboured. So should be a promising season.

@@iiam_keely1672 Yeah I noticed afterwards. Was my typo error, no need to worry about it. The main post was Keely run great and 1st run of the season, so even more impressive.

Was Hodgkinson's U20 Indoor WR last year really 3secs slower?
@bernardm2528
2 жыл бұрын
@@archiewoosung5062 What I was referring to was at the beginning of the season Keely was running 2mins + sec something like that. So therefore has improved 3 seconds since. What she improved to, you will have to look it up. Either way this 1st run of the season was very impressive. Out door 1.55. Can she improve upon that? Sorry I'm at work and really busy, so this is all from memory, but fairly accurate. Enjoy.
She is smooth. Looks like she is gliding when she lets it go.
Oregon22 will be a moviiiieee
Well done, Keely!
The best thing with Keely is at 19 she is so tactically aware of where she is at all times.
Great talent. Nice and humble too. Deserves to win gold at the next world champs if she can get one over on Athing Mu.
Her 1:57.20 indoor time is faster than Athing Mu's 1:58.40 from 2021.

That was a younger version of Mu - just to add context. Keely is still great though.
You go girl! Doing the northwest proud x
Insane running!
thank for sharing
Outstanding!
So good. The future for Team GB 💪🏻❤
Great run! Hodgkinson adjusting her approach no doubt with Mu fully in mind. Cant sit and outkick her so you gotta beat her running hard the whole way. Tall task either way. Cant wait for Eugene though. Hopefully having someone breathing down her back will only inspire Mu to run even faster.
This is the fastest time in 20 years. Ceplak ran the incredible 1:55 WR in 2002. Ceplak would later be banned due to EPO usage.

Isnt the WR held by Jarmila Kratochvilova? Which has not been broken until now?
@musik102

@@royestondsouza4069 Are you thinking of the outdoor record?
Amazing!
Keely's coach said she tore her quad in January and had disrupted training. She thought she could break the WR before that and expects Keely to run 1.54.5 or better this year outdoors. She also said her speed is much better now and before her injury she could run 51s for 400m indoors.

Will Hodgkinson run 400m in the hope of being able to challenge Mu over the final lap of an 800m later in the season?
@jackward9901
2 жыл бұрын
@@archiewoosung5062 Yes. She isn't as fast as Mu, but her speed endurance is sublime. If she can improve her one lap speed, it'll allow her to sustain a really fast pace over the full final 400m (as she did to Goule here), rather than wait for Mu to demolish her in the final 200. In all likelihood Mu will still be too good, but Keely is doing everything right to give herself the best chance.

Really!? You're quoting some insane times! 1:54.00 and 51 seconds?? I know she's good but perhaps those times are a couple of years away.
@jackward9901
2 жыл бұрын
@@zabaleta66 She ran 1.55.8 as a 19yo in a race where she had to come through traffic. Would going 1.54 in a paced DL really be a surprise? I don't think so based on her 1.57.2 indoors opener. She ran 52.4 indoors recently, right after her injury, and running the whole 2nd lap in lane 2. Maybe you are right, but I think 51.0 & 1.54.5 are within her reach this season. The coach in question is Jennifer Meadows, previous world medallist and NR holder, and a very savvy judge - I'd be inclined to trust her assessment 🤞🏻
love this video
Onwards and upwards 💪
Keely Hodgkinson I will always love you no matter what Happens 😇🇬🇧
Very hard race 💪👌
Well done 🎉🎉🎉
Lovely !
The stronger she gets, the faster she's running. Keely could break world records in the 800 and 1500. Good luck to her. She'll have to run fast like never before in training and get used to doing that hard and fast pace in those training sessions until they become normal to her. Once she's there, running 1.55 in training, that girl could dominate. Good luck Keely.
This performance is the 6th FASTEST of ALL TIME!!!
Top class 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Jenny Meadow's asked, "What can Keely Hodgkinson do in 2022? Well, what ever it is, it's going to be great and very entertaining..

Hello,where is athing mu to run against her,goule,Wilson,....
How significant is this? Goule has had a good indoor season so far, but did she over-reach herself trying to hold on to Hodgkinson? Has Mu run an indoor 800m in 2022?

Well, Natoya did run a sub-2 min race just two days before Birmingham, That effort, plus the travelling, probably took off her edge.
Keely and Athing....can wait for Oregon. It'll be an exciting race unless Ajee, Natoya or Halimaa upset the equation...or somebody else.

What about Mary Moraa?
I don't think that was a tear.
Keely really did finish like a train here. Just over a year ago, Keely set a U20 world record in Vienna of 1min 59.03, and on that occasion she was faster at 400m than in her Birmingham race. BTW, I wonder why Keely didn't go with pacemaker who did indeed slow down because she - at one point - was getting away from Keely. Indeed, the time at 400m was -according to Jenny - 1.5secs down on the requested pace, Of course, as this was Keely's first race for five months or so, that initial 57sec first quarter pace, was probably a shock to her system.
Good job. But damn, deliberately wont even show who els crossed over the damn line out of curiosity.
Did that commentator say that Hodgkinson tore her quad in Jan? Like WTF?? It must have been very slight... cause there is no way your running your running that well 4-5 weeks after a quad tear
@musik102

Well, the quad tear comment is very first hand because the commentator IS her coach, Jenny Meadows, a former very successful 800m runner ( Global medals etc)

I thought the camera would pan back to the place getters crossing the line. There was plenty of time. But after that the rest of the field was fodder, lane fillers. I think the camera person was prepped for a potential record and didn't deviate from script
