Very interesting that the cooling was a closed system , and also that is only a single screw Thanks

Alabama Smokey Wilson I imagine so. But be careful on that assumption- big boat/big engine room. Some of the most beautiful, big pleasure boats have terrible access below decks in their system spaces. Makes you scratch your head sometimes.

Captain Chris, I have a 15 meter inland and coastal cruiser in the south of France. It has cooling tubes each side of the keel for the engine but on the starboard side the exhaust exits the hull underwater and runs backwards towards the stern for 20 feet and re- enters the hull and then out the back. Question, why would a boat builder do this?

I don’t know. Might be cooling the exhaust gasses much like a water injected system would. But I’ve never seen nor heard of this before. Thanks for sharing.
