Thanks SO much for this review. This is just what I need .
Snap! Yes this will get and has been getting lots of use.
Love this dev. His support for MPE is great.
This keyboard it’s a game changer. Incredible review Doug
Works great doing multiples of Beathawk inside AUM.
Looks brilliant, will definitely get this.
Thanks for the bright bean energy as ever Doug!
Nice option to fill in while awaiting for the Sensel Morph to come back in stock. Thank you!
Oh Yeah, Simply Brilliant. Thanks Doug. Yeah I bought it.
Masterful. Great review.
Had this app a while and never used it. Now I’ve seen a video on I’m full of ideas for hard synth uses. Great tutorial as always!
Thank you Sir Doug. You are my information explanation station.
thank you.for this great information video.
Looks like a great performance tool.
Yes, very useful indeed especially MPE, scales, and the many other options on offer. I would love to have a Wilsonic AU version where the scales are laid out in a way that makes sense for those non-12 tone scales along with synths that would support the MIDI generated by such an app like Synth One as trying to generate many of those scales in playable hardware would be very cumbersome and expensive to do wheras it’s a perfect task to be handled by a touch surface.
this is really good
I’m late but just got this right now 😂😂😂 can’t wait to try in Ableton
merci
Wow, thanks Doug....insta-buy through your link
Excellent Doug. The App Store should start giving me loyalty points 😳
Nice app, nice demo... need a bigger screen for all of the keyboards!
Great video and I’m jealous of all your audio units :D! Do the keyboards support any split points?
BRAVOoooooooooooooooo
great video! Any tips on having it work with audio modeling SWAM in Ableton?
Fact: Doug's reviews do actually sell apps. I purchased this app yesterday after watching the review. Purchased another app last week as well. Love the design and functionality of this app, makes life easier especially as some of the DAWs (Cubasis & BM3) have very rudimentary and limited keys.
Sold!
Is it possible to record chords into Rozeta cells with the chord function?
The standalone could work verrry well for my purposes. You used the sections for keys, but I can see controlling multiple sequencer/generator apps all from one screen so I wouldn’t have to switch. For example: Xynthesizer on one keyboard, so you can change chords with a single note. iBassist with the chord one (and having iBassist routed out to multiple instruments with its chord/note outputs) And then a keyboard to trigger drum patterns either with something like Soft Drummer (which could change iBassist patterns), or like Patterning. (Alternative option to the drum app option would be to reserve one row for a multitimbral input like iM1, Beathawk or Gadget, and change midi channel when you want to change ‘instruments’) Along with all this, which is more than enough, I can have one actual keyboard connected to play one other instrument and have a few midi controllers present for controlling the timbre and fx of the apps I’m controlling directly from the three rows. One question though. Does this app support program change? Seems it’d be a pretty convenient feature for this layout.

It is ideas like this which make me feel a strong pull towards upgrading from my Air 2 to a 2018 Pro 🤔. But it’ll have to wait.

The advantage of having AU is being able to have your keyboard setup baked into your project. With full screen AU, the usefulness in AU will depend upon how well the efforts of the AU host app and AU app developers mesh together (being on the same page).
Can you also set up a midi keyboard to control kb1 to then control An app?
Could you control different soft synth via able Ton?
Thanks Doug. How does KB-1 compare to Velocity keyboard?
You know on AUM if you pull down at the top of your app list first it gives you the search bar ... 🙂. App list is too long now to be playing hide and seek 🤘🏻
Where it says channel I hit the + sign to channel 1 and now I hear sound.
Maybe there’s something fundamental about KB-1 and AUM I’m not getting, because I’ve never been able to do anything useful in my recording production workflow with either app.
Can you connect this app to a external keyboard via usb midi?
OK, this vid is from way back, but I'm gonna try my luck with an issue I'm having and you seem to be an expert. I downloaded this app with the intention of using it in Garageband, as the app description says it's an "AUv3 MIDI Instrument" and supports "Inter-App MIDI". But the KB-1 does not show up anywhere in my Garageband, only as a standalone. (iPad 9th gen / iOS 16) Any advice?
is it possible to do 7th chords or other kind?
Great first draft of a great app… but am I the only one encountering bugs - like having to get out and in again of synth apps when opening another KB1 setup , or getting problems with AUM ? Also very frustrating, the lack of a proper user manual : I’ve been trying to change the midiCCs of the controller page « wheels » but couldn’t find the trick. It’s a pity because KB-1 could be the ideal app for real time synth apps CCs configuration, by creating ( and sharing !) config patches for workhorses like BS-i 16 and others…
How do i get sounds out of this...does it stand alone or need to be hooked up to a kybd controller /
How would I use this with BeatMaker3
can i use this app with roli seaboard? thanks
Just purchased this and can only get one keyboard to work. It will also only work with magellan...have tried zeeon, poison, KQ Dixie and none of them work. One keyboard only :(

I emailed the developer and had a super fast and very helpful response. My problem was that I didn't have 'Background Audio' enabled in the synth apps. All my synths now work.
Why do you open it like an audio plug.?
And only £4! Gotta be worth it at that price!!
Please help, i did what u did in this tutorial. I added the synths in the OutPut, but there’s no sound. 🧐🤨 what am i making wrong ??? Any idea ? Thanks for the tutorial.

I emailed the developer as i was having the same problem as you. In the synths that you want to use as 'Output' you need to go into them separately and enable 'Background Audio'
Bought it - but cannot find kb - 1 in AU in AUM ? …

Hi, KB-1 is a Midi Processor, so you will find it there. First, open a new channel and select MIDI, then tap on the MIDI Node and choose Audio Unit Midi Processor, and you will find it there in the list👍

@@TheSoundTestRoom thx - got it 😍✌️😉
Very frustating, using IOS 14.2 and AUM and it doesn’t show as an audio unit extension. No idea what I’m missing. The only thing AUM finds it as is a Midi Processor which is useless
Where do you call up these keyboards from?
No arpeggiator :(

Can’t you use the arp in your synth?

Or, I know it's more steps, but the Bram Bos Rozeta arp is good too.
I’ll buy it... just as soon as the flippin’ App Store allows me to connect. It’s down at the time I type this 😒

It would be useful if it was not glitchy and stuck
Great app. I just can’t stand that weird red color all over the place. It really bugs my eyes. I don’t get why interfaces have Colors that are not perfect contrast to make reading stuff really easy for anyone. If it’s a work of art then who cares but the main thing in an app like this is the music and to make it easy as possible to see everything. Is it just me? I know I have issues with red in general because I am mildly color blind or something like that. Some Colors bother me.

should be able to adjust all that in the accessibility settings on your device. The ios screen color settings have some controls directly relating to the most common types of color blindness. And you could turn that red to blue if you wanted.

I hate yellow. Don’t know why, just can’t stand it. Weird...anyway, yeah an interface should be readable and immediately decipherable at a glance.
