Hey there! I’m getting a microfreak, and have an iPad, would you mind defining exactly which chords and interface is need/you’d recommend? This vid was a great help but I just want to be 100% sure I don’t waste money on an incorrect purchase. Thank you!

Very very tempted to order one from cash converters tomorrow. Finally worked out how to setup one of the many outputs in my umc 1820 as an fx send. I might go to storage tomorrow and get my model d back.

I have become a UVI fan, because they don't make faithful recreations. That said, I have learned not to care, because just today I came up with another nice inspirational track just from researching the ODDY and noodling with a patch from another UVI synth I already have in my collection. - but thanks for this.

I'm hearing a lot of PInk Floyd here! Did they use one of these?

No, I don’t think they did, but you never know.

Floyd didn’t use one but it’s possible to make Richard Wright type Floydy sounds with it.

Thanks, Doug! That looks like a synth even I could get to grips with - so versatile as well! (btw: you are wearing your gauze pad in the wrong place to support Trump! 😉)

Got a Wasp this week 😂, perfect timing Doug. Can you get a Kobol next??? 😂😂

  • @kentaccordionist

The Kobol expander is excellent I’ve had mine since they came out. Has lots of neat tricks like the ability to morph through the oscillators using the 2 lfo’s. And some great patching possibilities.

As an owner of TWO of the original Wasps, including one of the very first to hit the UK, I can say that Behringer have managed to capture about 50% of its essential shittyness. On both machines that I had the filter was grainy and unpleasant throughout the octave range on both oscillators. I noticed that when you started adjusting it at 2:12 on oscillator 1 at 4ft. Later, when you adjust the filter on oscillator 2 on a bass setting the resonance is completely smooth. It wasn't on the original. Having said that, the first Wasp I had sounded completely different to the second one. Sadly, the original broke down after just a couple of weeks, and I got a replacement. The circuitry inside (yes, I did look at both) was quite different, and the second one lacked the wonderfully "fruity" sound of the original. I'd say the Behringer version is probably based on the second one.

Isn't Stephen interested in this one? Or did he get? The weather machine stuff was incredibly cool, I never would have about doing that. Also, I really like the colours, reminds me of the old Lotus JPS grand prix car. Thanks.

I have Scarbee and did an A/B between that and this EP. They're so close that I would definitely advise anyone that has Scarbee to not bother with this. Also, there are some higher-velocity samples in the lower register that sound like the tine hitting the pickup. If you're a heavy-handed player you're gonna find these and it may or may not be what you want to hear!

As you can hear, there is no round robin on the samples, so they all machine-gun artificially, and it doesn’t sound like an acoustic drum set at all. That keeps the download small but otherwise wrecks the value…like a 90’s sample kit where it’s trapped in the uncanny valley of not being fake and not being real either. Gadget should have a demo system like Module to avoid bitter comments like this one. There isn’t much in AUv3 for realistic drums I’ve found please suggest. Digistix2 apparently has this same issue. Not sure if Patterning 3 has acoustic sounds.

Hi, nice demo of the Audio Modeling F horn as controlled by the Touche. Question: one typical scenerio for me would be to decrease the Expression (when needed) in conjunction with the raising the volume…since the instrument is speaking much softer now. So expression goes down while volume goes up a little. How would you map those 2 actions to the touche for real time control? Ty in advance.
