Kayak fishing~Snapper Soup & Snapper Crackling. Clay Tall Stories

This is will be the biggest Snapper I have caught in my Kayak. So much fish. Fish for family and loved ones. I am keeping the head and frame for eating and soup and the skin for making Snapper Cracking. It tastes magic.

Clay nothing wrong with ya clips 100% real life ...love all ya clips started watching when you started putting up vids. I can't see why we can't watch the "real world" on KZread. It must upset the pc snowflakes . You spend a lot of time editing and taking your time to show the world a small piece of your life. To me that is awesome mate. A lot of different ways to live off the land it's a dying thing here in nz ...I feel .anyway keep it up its good shit!

Snapper is off the menu over here in South Australia, there's a state wide ban on snapper for recreational and pro fishermen. They say that the species is on the verge of collapse here. Just shows the rape of the ocean here

They’re a fishing drone and I can’t find a video anywhere for them. Tempted to buy, but I wanna know they’re good first. There is a shop in Nelson that sells them, maybe they’ll shout/lend you one for a good detailed review? Anyway, good to meet you mate, happy hunting and fishing 👍

I think the cave would be a suitable place for the pups the only problem is the potential for a cave in as you said so maybe it would be a could idea if you could enforce it in some way?

hey clay i was wondering how you make your dogs cast out long range to finding pigs and teaching what a pig smells like?

  • @ClayTallStories

two good question Teina. Range and going on the find has a lot to do with the work ethic already bred into the dog. Thats why I favour working dogs like Po who have heading dog, Hunt-awayX beardie etc. They work hard cast out further on the find. If your dog is not going out then you need to start pairing it up with a dog that does. Sustain from whistling your dog in when it is on the find if you can help it. All my pups get the fress pig skin to track at home as soon as they can walk ad there is always a reward once they find the skin. They learn very early what the target species smells like. I also do all the basic training that many pig hunter ignor because I like to keep my dogs under control as best I can. Drag a fresh pig skin around the ground from your latest kill and hide it in the bush somewhere and let the pups track the scent to it. Give the pup lots of praise and a treat when it finds the skin. If you are starting off fresh with just pups then you need a main dogs to train your pups off. I always have a pup in the making as pig dogs don't live for ever.

If its wild and road kill then cook it slow and at low temp in the camp oven until the clear fluid comes out when you stick your knife into it

Gday mate. Good to hear from you. I think you are one of my longest and very first subscribers. I never forget people who have helped me along the way and you mate have been a real force in the clay tall stories journey. Just thought I wud throw that one out there. To answer your question. Yes. It's not a bad idea at all. I with give it some thought but I will have to a fan in there as she is already over heating and covering it will lock the heat in even more.

My dad used to make those with just the Pig's skin. A lot of people will leave the fat on the skin, but I do not like it that way.
