Kayak Camping - 2 days on Carolinas Best Kept Secret
Спорт
That perfect river is out there...somewhere. Kevin, Austin, Alan and I head out for a kayak camping overnighter. Looking at river options, there was not a lot to choose from due to the lack of rain and low water levels. We settled on a perfect little stretch of river and were amazed at what we found. Come along for a 2 day journey on Carolinas best kept secret!!

Everyone was asking where this river was. I think the point was, it can be any river!

Good point, but he did mention near the 32-minute mark they were on the Deep River.

@@johnb8369 Not the Deep. This is the Pee Dee as far as I can tell. From NC into SC. The zig-zag rapid near the beginning of the video is the remains of a huge native American fish trap.

Between this video title and the wandering electrician title and a pretty uncommon bridges span along with the double ramp the river is easy to locate. I have done several rivers in SC and from NC to SC and the Savanah but never this one. Great video as always. Adding this one to the bucket list.

@River Kings I know you'd love it! Twin river outfitters has great sites from what I've seen and there's tons of islands. You get to see the great state of va how it's meant to be seen. Not the small northern neck most people associate va with. Just be careful of dams!
Another great video. These are my favorite videos of yours. This is a great title for this video. As you know another River out there can be found in everyone’s backyard! Something of note I love the drone footage however if you’re using a draone in your videos you need a 107 pilot license from the FFA because your videos are monetize. Failing to do so could give the pilot up to a $600,000 fine. I thought you should know.

question for you guys - avid kayak camper here and live in the triangle so I've watched all your videos now. Do you get permission before setting up camp? I've been on rivers that have signs to contact land owners but that's rare. Do you just take your chances? I've heard horror stories of people being approached by landowners at gun point because they just set up camp on the rivers edge during a multi-day trip... As a female that generally only travels with other females, it concerns me.
@RiverKingsKayak
Ай бұрын
It is a mix of camping below the high water mark, designated camp sites, back country camping in National Forests, reserved camps in parks and obtaining permission from land-owners prior to the trip. I try not to ever camp where I will likely have contact with any other people.
Bring on the Kings..

Some people mentioned Pee Dee. Definitely not the deep as that one is too narrow for this. Also not cape fear. I did cape fear Fayetteville to Wilmington in college. No rapids once you get closer to the coast but I’d call it class I when you have tides and gators to worry about.
