Kay Woodcock shares her favorite part of her victim impact statement she couldn't read in court

#eastidahonews #daybell #trial
IDAHO FALLS - Kay Woodcock barely slept Sunday night as she put the finishing touches on a victim impact statement she read during Lori Vallow Daybell’s sentencing Monday.
It ended up being 18 pages, but due to a variety of reasons, some of it could not be read to District Judge Steven Boyce in court. During an interview with EastIdahoNews.com Tuesday, Woodcock shared her favorite section from the statement that she was unable to give.
“There was my favorite line in the whole statement and I couldn’t say it. I wanted to tell the judge - please do not give her even the slightest bit of hope for leaving prison in anything other than a body bag,” Woodcock says. “That was the best I could hope for. And he did it. So she will be leaving it in a body bag - just however long it takes for her to get into one.”
Larry and Kay Woodcock, JJ Vallow’s grandparents, have attended most of Daybell’s court hearings over the past 3 1/2 years. They admit they’ve been outraged, disappointed, discouraged and baffled at times as they’ve worked to obtain justice for their grandson, his sister, Tylee Ryan, and Tammy Daybell. However, they are pleased Boyce sentenced Daybell to serve life in prison without parole.
“People ask all the time, ‘How are you so patient?’ Well, we haven’t been patient. Sometimes you just have to choose to accept it the way it is and things will happen in time,” Kay Woodcock explains. “We were constantly reminded all of this is in God’s time, not our time. I would say that over and over and over. Unless you want it to eat your insides out, you have you accept it and wait.”
The Woodcocks will now wait for court proceedings to begin in Arizona, where Daybell faces two conspiracy to commit murder charges, and Chad Daybell’s trial, which is scheduled to begin in Ada County on April 1.
Kay Woodcock would like him to take a plea agreement and serve life in prison but Larry Woodcock wants a jury to decide Chad Daybell’s fate.
“I want him in trial. It can take a month, two months, three months, we’ll be there. We want him in front of jurors. I want him to try to lie his way out of this,” Larry Woodcock says. “Do I think he’s going to speak? No. I somewhat believe at this point that he’s going to have to look in the mirror and come to a realization of what’s happened.”
The Woodcocks live in Lake Charles, Louisiana but say Idaho feels like their second home. They say the love they have felt has been a bright spot during their real-life nightmare and they appreciate everyone’s support.
“The words of encouragement, the prayers - it’s amazing. I just sometimes think, why are we so blessed? What did we do to deserve the blessing of the world?” Larry Woodcock says. “It’s amazing to me. I can’t imagine this happening in New York or Los Angeles or Chicago because the people here are so totally amazing. I feel like I owe them. I truly do. ”

I am so grateful to the independent news media giving these victims a platform to say what they couldn't at sentencing. The objections from the defense to silence certain parts of impact statements were disgusting, as was the judge allowing Lori to make allegations against Joe Ryan that were ultimately dismissed.

Thanks for bringing up Joe Ryan. More likely than not, that was part of how Lori got going. Accuse her then husband and father of Tylee of child molestation, to get rid of him and get sole possession of Tylee. Lori had plans and an agenda. This time, hind-sight is sickening.

Somehow, I wish the death penalties should carry"gag" orders while in prison, so they cannot continue to spew this dangerous "message" to others. These two could very easily continue to grow their cult. Lori's "testimony" that she was allowed to give, scared me. There are SO many people out there who are easily influenced. *I wanted to slap Lori yesterday. 🤮

I wish Joe would get justice... but unfortunately, the state of Texas has already deemed his death to be of natural causes (heart attack), and unlike Idaho, won't exhume his remains to examine further. In fact, I believe he was cremated, just as they did to Charles' body so that the evidence wouldn't be proven that he died of unnatural causes that led up to that heart attack (i.e., likely, a taser, like Alex tried to do in the initial attack but was unable to complete it). This is why I don't believe Lori's statement... she went back to 2002, when Tylee was born, in order to excuse Joe's death, in case Texas decides to go after her, to provide context. She's been demonically possessed for decades, not just the last six years. She just kept lying and lying and having to create stories to cover her lies, and eventually, they just consumed her and became her reality.

Then I watched a cousin of Lori speak .. Megan .so her father & Lori's mother Janis were brother & sister abd I believe there's another brother Rex .. so.all of their kids adx up to 21 cousins So Megan spoke about how Lori grew up and what she saw & heard.. their family was always very dysfunctional, N it seemed they put a lot of emphasis on looks.... But again so many players bc she had 4 husband's .. and now about 4 ppl have stated they're writing books. And I believe 1 or 2 jurors already stated they're writing books 📚 ... I'm so truly sorry for your loss. There are no words and no excuses for not attending to a patient, merely because it's not convenient (& I say that as a doctor who has worked more holidays than I've spent with my family). Even one avoidance is one too many. I thank you wholeheartedly for pursuing that charlatan (who was an insult to the profession) and ensuring that he can no longer practice. Whilst it will be little consolation considering your loss, I can assure you that it will have served as a powerful deterrent to other would-be awful doctors (because it reminds them that their actions have huge consequences - for them and their patients) and I have no doubt that you have stopped numerous families from having to lose a loved one unnecessarily. That is a truly poignant way to honour your daughter and you are an absolute hero for showing that level of strength and tenacity for others in what must have been your darkest days. Thank you for your selflessness. I wish you love, peace, and healing 💕 I also have no doubt that your daughter is now your guardian angel, watching over and protecting you. With love from the UK 💖🇬🇧 x

Thank you for sharing this. Very moving. However, I have issues with the "mental illness". She was smart enough to lie about kids whereabouts, ask a 'friend' to lie. Change bank accounts for Tylee & JJs monies to be redirected. Order wedding rings and plan a wedding. Manipulated her way through interviews in Arizona, pack and move quickly to get to her Dinglebell in Idaho. Sooo many lies and manipulations. She is not 'mentally ill'. She is coniving, manipulating, a pathological liar, a murderess, a she devil. Tylee and JJ could have been spared had Arizona listened to Charles in the beginning. I will believe till my dying day, THAT negligence/failure lays soley on the the shoulders of Jason Mow. The murders of the children? Lori Shallow.... I pray once she realizes her 'husband' Chad Dinglebell WILL throw her under the bus, SHE SUFFERS EVERY DAY OF HER MISERABLE LIFE!

But i do hope that at sometime in the future, she will have her vision opened up to reality. I do believe that she is mentally ill....but, mentally ill folks make choices every day that don't include killing. Mentally ill folks still believe in right and wrong and make great choices. @@lisak5804I was wondering why her aunt did not speak. I thought maybe she couldn’t attend the sentencing due to illness or something. Now that you said she was there, I can only presume she was NOT allowed to speak. It’s not Tylee’s fault that her father and step father, and uncle are dead and that her mother is her murderer, and finally that her maternal grandmother and grandfather CHOSE not to speak for HER!!! Her paternal Aunt (since no one else spoke specifically for her) was not allowed to speak!!! I do want to add her maternal aunt, Summer was unable to attend (don’t know if she would have been allowed to do a victim impact statement or not. I saw a day or two ago AFTER the sentencing, Summer was interviewed and did a wonderful victim impact statement letting us know who Tylee was and she had some great pictures. It pissed me off though as she said she was abused by her biological father. I really think Lori was such a great manipulator that EVERYONE BELIEVED her about the abuse!!! I’m sure she talked both Colby and Tylee into believing they were abused so she could attempt to get full custody and full child support!! So I’m sure the children acted like they were abused as well. After all of these years and lies and murders, her family should rethink about whether Joseph Ryan was really innocent (as the courts believed) and that she may have caused his death as well!

YES…holes in court & victims rights nerd to be revisited. You go! I was a victim and had to write a letter. The prosecutor read my statement and She & the judge said it was the best they ever heard. The perpetrator laughed & was reprimanded. Second felony…illegal weapon & elder abuse & small children in the house! Not as serious as Kays but could have been without God on my side and if I was not as strong as I was! I understand Kay’s anxiety writing her statement! So happy for the success of these two, their strength, integrity & perseverance. I hope Chad gets the death penalty & no appeal!!
