I'm just about to order one. Although I'm currently owning the Z900 little brother/sister the Z650. After test riding the 900 the 650 felt like a little tiny dirt bike. I was absolutely blown away from the power and sound of the engine. The stock exhaust sounds quite nice as well. It just wants to go. In the high RPMs the air intake just screams and the space around you starts warpping with a insane sense of speed. There is no way I'm ever going back🔥

I bought a Z900 in February. Loved it enough to buy a Z900RS in May. RS more comfy, but the Z is smoother, faster and tranny is a little smoother. Brakes on RS at the lever feel better, but the Z stops as well.Build quality on both are wonderful. Had an MT09 and don't miss it. Love smooth 4 cylinder bikes. Great video. Thanks.

I have 11k on my 2021 z900rs, and may trade it for a z900 se. I like my beautiful and comfortable z900rs, but a quick demo ride on a z900 revealed that bike to have a smoother engine response and shifting. Like both bikes very much, but there is that desire for variety. Life is short.

@@hellraiserrec19 Handling is superior on Z. Acceleration thru the gears is so close. MT is more wheelie prone, Z will nail it top end. Z's engine is so much smoother. Z's brakes better. All in all, Z's my favorite.

Love the power to weight ratio, the engine size, the weight is pretty damn light, it's built for tall dudes (I'm 6'2), my first bike was a Kawi Ninja so it has nostalgia, I've been wanting a naked bike, it can hual a kid passenger no prob, and it starts and sounds like a dream. I dont have a street bike yet, only rode dirtbikes but want to get into street. Im between starting on a grom because its affordable or making the jump so i wont need to upgrade to the z900. Advantage of grom, i could get it much sooner as they are about $3000, and thats about how much my current dirtbike goes for so i could sell it (klx140g) my main complaint with my bike is 100% the speed and ive outgrown it a lot. The fastest ive ever gotten it is 63 but the fastest it actually likes is 40-45. And to keep up with my dad, hes on a klx300 duel sport, planning on grtting an adventure bike. Currently i have to be full throttle 5th gear to keep up with him. Hes gotten up to 75 but on his ive gotten 85-90 just because at the time i was about 80lbs lighter. Im 200lb he was around 280 now 240

My advice. Buy the Z400 or Z650. Either of those will give you PLENTY of power, and they're lower cost than the Z900. I drove a Versys 650 for years, and know of many other riders who find that the 650 is all the power they'll ever need. The 400 is great too. I'd happily ride one of those, even with years of experience!

I am constantly missing 1st to 2nd and 3 times now under power i have found neutral between 4th and 5th, And i am talking about 115 mph PLUS. i would have called myself out for lazy shifting after 2 times, but 3 is nah this gearbox is garbage. I did years on single and twin cyclinders and close to a year on an 05 R1 and never knew there was a gap between 4 and 5. WTF

  • @PeterLoweOne

Interesting? I wonder if something is out of adjustment. I've had my Z900RS SE on the road for over a month now, and I've hit neutral by accident twice, both of which were my own fault as it was a lazy shift. But I've found my gearbox to be very precise and although my 1st and 6th gear ratios are different than yours, the gearbox is shared between the two bikes. So it sounds like you should see if something is out of adjustment. Even the shift lever being just a hair out of adjustment for your preference could be an issue, but as I say, I haven't heard that complaint with this bike, so it seems like something is up with your particular bike or how it's adjusted for your riding style. It seems fixable, is what I'm saying.
