I have owned my Z900 for 3 years. Love it. I've done the usual mods. Suspension, exhaust etc. All helps to make a really good bike better still. What I would like to see Visordown do with the Z900 is dyno runs with the bike at different levels of tune: Stock. - Just a slip-on. - Slip-on & header. - Slip-on, header & filter. - Slip-on, header, filter & ECU flash. Most owners would never get opportunity to do that.

Bobby by Reading your comment you seem like the right person to ask. I really hope you can help me out,. I'm looking at a second hand Z900. Its 2018 in mint condition with 4k km, has quick shifter, remapped, billet levels, and full system decated. I can't make out what exhaust he put on it. My problem or I should say concern is the price he's looking for it, in comparison to others of that millage and age he's at least 1500 cheaper. Can you explain? I just have that feeling, if it's to good to be true,. I just don't understand enough about what he done to the bike and am wondering is that whats scaring people away from it. He's been trying to sell it for 2 months now. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, tx.

I've owned a super sport naked before (Tuono v4r). Sold it in 6 months. The seating position and lack of wind protection even with a windscreen made touring on it a chore. The wind at highway speeds just saps your energy. The money spent these naked bikes to set up for "touring" get you a really nice factory ready sport tourer. For day rides these bikes are great though.

I’ve got a 2017 Z900 that I’ve had since new (she’s 3 next week). If you’re looking for mods, firstly I’d say rad guard for obvious reasons. Aside from that, if the 2020 model is anything like the previous generation, get some decent tyres on it and do something with the suspension. Have a look through the Z900 forum if you want more ideas, but suspension and tyres are the biggest complaints from most owners. I’m running a set of road 5’s, a fully adjustable Wilbers shock and waiting to have a cartridge kit fitted in the forks. Just the shock and the tyres completely transformed the bike and the cartridge kit will finish that off. Other than that, a decat pipe or set of headers with a tune and you’re good to go. Then it’s all just shiny, pretty things and lots of carbon 🤤

I have a 2019 z900, love it. The mods I would suggest are first and foremost tires, then R & G racing radiator guard, T. rex racing or GB racing engine case covers, oes frame sliders, oes front axle sliders and swing arm spools, tail tidy (not sure who makes a good one for 2020 yet), shorty levers (so many good options to choose from), lightech chain adjusters, full exhaust, Ecu flash from 2wheelDynoworks are all a must. Some other things you can do based on preference are driven bar end mirrors, luimoto seat covers, tank grips, quick shifter, MRA racing windscreen, aftermarket rearsets.

I've got a 2017 I've had since new. Nothing crazy on there but I did CRG arrow mirrors with rhinomoto bar ends which made it much easier to see behind me. No more shoulders taking up the view. Tail tidy from vagabond which was very easy to install. Biggest gain I've noticed has been from the tech spec tank pads. With leathers I was sliding all over the place and had to really squeeze the tank when braking. Tech spec snake skins made a huge difference. Looking at GB covers next. Good luck!

Bought a new 2017 Z900 early in 2018. Have put 22k on her so far, more smiles per mile than anything I can think of. Here are the changes so far; Road 5 tires, Denali 2.0 driving lights, high output incandescent headlamp bulbs, Kawi extended windscreen, Progrip grips, CRG Arrow bar end mirrors, ASV levers, Givi tank lock bag, R&G fork, frame, swingarm & cotton jig sliders/spools, Puig pegs, GBR covers, R&G tank grips, tank pad, Yoshimura fender eliminator, K&N air filter, Akrapovic full exhaust with a SC Project SCR1 slip on, Dynojet PC5 and Autotune, Corbin seat. Wired for a Denali soundbomb horn but cant find a decent mounting point. Just got some EBC brake pads, see if they last longer than stock. Thought about steel brake lines but the improvement seems minor. Suspension is stock, but forks are dialed in to the max, looking at Ohlins or Racetech. Rear shock is ok for now. Biggest complaint is at 6'1" (185cm) I'm bound up a bit, after two hours of riding it's hard to unfold my legs. I bought the Kawi ergo seat but it only lasted a year before the stitching gave out. The extra inch in height was great but the gel under your ass in corners did not instill confidence. The Corbin is great but haven't quite figured out if the factory could rig up a spacer of some sort. Great bike tho, I thoroughly enjoy it!

I have a 2017 Z900 with the following mods, ride as an almost daily commuter - 1) Arrow headers with SC project titanium (so full system) 2) K&N air filter 3) Flashed ECU by 2WDW 4) Michelin Pilot Road 5s (must haves for Seattle weather!) 5) Aliexpress aftermarket crash bar 6) Vagabond Motorsports fender eliminator kit (highly recommended!) 7) Aliexpress aftermarket swingarm, fork and bar end spools So far I have faced no issues with the motorcycle. But I am somehow inclined to the 2020 model because of the rider modes, TFT screen and bluetooth connectivity. Is it worth upgrading? Or get something else? Or just wait?

2109 Red/grey/black ZR900B. Conti SportAttack 3 tyres, great on track too(~7-8000km). Kawasaki - Radiator stone guard, front extended windscreen, rear Moondust seat cowl. AliExpress - Grey rear seat cowling(almost same as OEM Moondust), Red Steering Damper with dark grey mountings, Red/black CNC front brake oil cover, Red foot guards, Red oil filling cap, 1080/720p front/rear camera with motion detection. Rizoma - Spy bar-end mirrors. Evotech - Exhaust hanger(rear foot pegs removed) and tail tidy. GIVI - Hard side panniers(have to swap back to OEM tail mount and rear foot pegs when panniers used). Motul 7100 oil replaced every 6000km. 22,000km thus far. Would like 2020 dash and reenforced rear suspension mount(if that's what they did) on 2019 model. Rider modes and traction control just get a minion shrug from me, but may be nice in wet weather.

Yes, it's just as flickable as the Z650, and has all of the Z650s riding characteristics (lots of torque, agility, poise, fun-factor) The Z650 and Z900 are true rider's bikes. And once you've tried the Z900 I'm sure you'll want to upgrade to it. I've also tried the Street Triple RS, but it feels slower on the roads than the Z900, because all the power is too far up the rev range, so it feels like it wants to be on the track. Z900, king of the road nakeds Striple, king of the track nakeds imo

Power Commander. Vagabond mudguard eliminator kit. R&G rad cover. Got rid of headlight unit and running two vertically mounted off road spot and flood 24000 lumen lights. Front and rear pads around 15k miles replaced with Double H. Living in Vegas kills the Dunlop Q3+. I go through a set every 4k miles Just ordered new Chain and sprockets as factory one has stretched alot.Sprockets still look decent. Absolutely love the thing. Its a wheelie monster and handles extremely. Predictable slides on deman when getting the rear loose playing out of the corners. I have my gear lever gp style and had to shave a bit off of the side facia to allow the gear link rod clearance. Had Valve adjustment at around 18k miles as per log book. All round reliable bike Runs sweet as a nut.

I am currently riding 2017 Ninja 650 and did not get tired too much after on a bike for more than 5 hours (out of 6. 5 hrs of total tour(!?) time) in terms of my posture (or body position). Oh yeah, my butts got so sore after 3 hrs, but that is a different issue though. 🥴🤪.. (I am getting a comfy seat soon). So, my question is, for the tour of 6 hrs of daily riding, would Z1000 will be much better than Ninja 1000sx?

@@Tobeon2 I switched from a Ninja 650 to the Z1000SX and IMHO the seat on the 650 was way more comfortable. The Z1000SX seat is much firmer and I start to feel bum fatigue much sooner (after a couple of hours) compared to all day comfort on the 650. Riding position wise, the legs are more cramped on the Z1000SX but I'm slightly more upright so arms and lower back are more comfortable. Definitely test ride both bikes yourself. I went for the Z1000SX (2nd hand 2018 model) because I plan to tour 2-up.

I know I'm late to the party but I got my 2021 in March this year, I have added shorty levers, RadGuard, Crash bungs, pillion seat cover, Tail tidy, larger screen, Larger sidestand foot and probably a couple more things. Got less than 4000 km on it what with covid lock downs and other issues.

Hi, any news on long term review "part 2" ? I've had my 2018 z900 for 8 months. Love it! Power, torque, handling, smoothness, build quality, fit and finish; all brilliant. Previous bike Yamaha mt09 tracer. Good bike but build, fit and finish not as good as z900. Mods:- performance version screen, Puig bar end mirrors, Louis Moto mirror fitting blanking plugs, shorter black adjustable levers, 3 piece engine cover protection set from avdb Moto, Evotech rad guard, tail tidy from eBay and lastly S P Engineering brushed stainless end can. Really happy with all the mods. Tyres have been ok but I don't ride much in the wet, however next addition will be new tyres, probably Pirrelli super corsa 2. Looking forward to seeing part 2 review in due course.

Would love to see the entire stock exhaust opened up and inspected in one of your videos! Have also added a Puig naked new generation touring windscreen. Has reduced the wind blast on the chest but has increased wind noise a lot! Really annoying. I am 6'1". Then some frame sliders, fork sliders, exhaust slider, spools, motografix tank pad, stompgrips (a must!). Please show some dyno runs on stock exhaust & stock mapping if possible. Cheers.

I have the 2020 z900 since march this year and rode 15k kilometers so I know some stuff about the bike. Overall experience PHENOMENAL! I did make some charges tho: - full akrapovic system (else your sound is just missing out!) - aftermarket quickshifter from Healtech (would recommend the Translogic ones myself and I will switch mine for the Translogic ones soon. Overall more quality QS) - shortened plate holder, stock one is just ugly as hell - performance package (windscreen, Seat cover) - frame sliders - radiator cover - Yamaha heated grips - USB charge station on front - RAM mount phone Holder - replaced stock tires for the Pirelli angel GT 2 - planning on buying some new stuff from barracuda too! Like mirrors and stuff The bike is great at handling. I mostly ride on sport mode or on individual with TC set off. If you go in Road mode I feel TC kicks in too much and too quick. Downsides of the bike I would say no factory quickshifter and no cruise control. Otherwise perfect bike for me... Greetings from Holland

I think Kawasaki have done the right thing by adding/updating the bike with additional electronics, TFT etc... This was sorely needed to bring the Z900 in line with other bikes in the class. The only thing really missing is a quickshifter/down blipper as standard. The middleweight segment of bikes in my opinion is brillant bang for buck and with plenty of different bikes for potential new owners to choose from! I mean nearly 125 HP, that's Kawasaki ZX-9R performance and probably 25kg lighter too! More than enough for the road.

One thing I'd like from a long term review is lots of footage of the bike on the road, bike/rider mounted cameras only. A good 20 minute comp of the bike on the road with its sounds is all I need. Perhaps you make 2 or 3 trips and let the camera roll. Edit it down for variety. No music. Commentary optional or as needed.
