Yes to loud pipes ... but not ear bleeding loud , maybe when I was younger it was louder the better. But now I feel it’s more of a classy loud , I have taken the baffles out on my Ducati monster, and yeh for twenty minutes it was cool .But then it just got to much .Much nicer with them back in .👍👍

I've got 53.000 miles on my 2015 Kawa Z800 and obviously use it everyday, to go to work, some long trips (500+ miles) and some track days. Have a Scorpion Serket can with baffle and believe me: everybody listens me when I'm passing and get recognized from far away. I don't care what anybody says, I know, for a fact that mildly loud cans SAVES LIVES. Period. Like it ir not. Happened to me that when I approach to other cars and even trucks, they make way for me to pass if we're in a traffic jam. And specially recommended if you do a lot of traffic in the city. They WILL HEAR you. Edit: Excellent video! Congrats!!!👏👏👏👏

Cans mostly do sod all these days (on modern bikes), this is a good result, even full systems tend to require some work before delivering, diminishing returns alright as things get more sophisticated and sorted out of the crate. Same with a lot of things really - even trying to overclock GPUs these days gets little in return!

When I'm in most cars (current car is electric, so this doesn't apply) I don't hear bikes coming up behind me no matter how loud, I only hear them as they pass me and the exhaust is pointing at me. In my EV I hear them, but it's pretty quiet until they pass.

It's something I've stuck to ever since moving to london (long ago), and while respectfully moving down the outside of two lanes of static traffic, a black cab I was just yards away from twitched enough to make me hammer the anchors. The driver stuck his hand out, apologised and said something along the lines of - if i hadn't had my window open i wouldn't of heard you, and i was about to do a U-turn! Luckily i was going slowly, and he had his window open, but it made me think about how in such a busy city this was unlikely to be a one off, so having some extra noise that someone who is listening to music/eating/on the phone/screaming at kids/whatever may hear as they're about to do something unexpected, was probably a good idea. And I was right! Now living in pastures green, I do cringe a bit whenever something I'm riding is obnoxious, but in the city i couldn't give two hoots who it annoyed so long as it gave me a better chance of making it through the day :-)

I think it's a modern car thing they are very sound proof. I do know what you mean. That said when I ditched my R6 and got a z1000 with stock exhaust noone ever noticed me and it made filtering a pain. That was some years ago however so older cars about. I still think a meaty exhaust is nice but it's spoiled these days by people taking it too far with full race systems. It's like how a powerful car used to sound nice but these days a car too loud just makes me think of a council estate micra. 😂

More and more, loud exhausts seem to be the exception where perhaps hey were far more common, even a few years ago. It's all about acceptibility in a society that is much more noise and eco conscious.
