Great review Ali. That's a beautiful bike and I love the add ons you chose. I just bought a 2013 300; haven't ridden for 38yrs and I'm looking forward to it, even more so after seeing this. Fwiw, I sat on a Ninja 650 he was selling and it was too heavy for a first "ride again" bike. I'm a lightweight old shorty. Cheers; very helpful video and advice.

How much did each mod cost? I'm thinking about what to add to my ninja 300. I'm looking at more of a gold and black look so most of the black parts will work just fine, I'm just gonna swap the red tire illuminators for gold ones

That's awesome bro and no I did them myself. I ordered the lights from BKMOTO by a guy name Boris ... and they were plug in play. It took me pretty much all day to figure out how to get it on the bike coz it had so many wires... but with help of a friend I managed to do it. Just make sure you don't lose any screws... take your time with it. Do it indoors or somewhere warm lol. and do not force anything in or out... these clips can get very expensive... It was my first time installing a headlight on any bike/car ... and did a pretty good job... never had to take it apart again.

The 400 is the new 300. A guy who's about twice my size got rid of his 300 and loves his 650. The 636 is a super sport bike - much more horse power and not ideal for any beginner. good vid man. I've actually seen a lot of the mods you got and I'm looking to get the headlights. I'm trying to find someone who got after-market mirrors, because I don't like the stock ones; I'm a little guy and still have to tuck my elbows or lean to see. Your exhaust sounds pretty good, a little lawnmowery, but I guess they all do. I like the coffman myself, but contemplating the akrapovic.

How much did it cost in total (in dollars)?
With BKMoto, did you put them in yourself and was it hard, or did you pay more for plug and play and was that still hard? I saw one video where someone said parts are glued together, so it's hard to disassemble. It looks cool, just wondering if it's worth the hassle. If you do plug and play, it'll cost - looks like - over 500. for freaking lights. That could go towards a downpayment on a new bike.
@raghibphotography
5 жыл бұрын
I know I saw those videos and I did not feel comfortable disassembling the entire light. So I went with the plug in play method. I know it costed me over 500 but honestly it was worth every penny lol. I will keep this bike forever even if I upgrade to a 1000 in the future, I will still keep this bike, its a great learner bike and I can give it to a friend or cousin to practice so I did not mind spending 500 on cool lights :)
Great looking bike

I have a couple questions for you. 1) Have you sold your bike and/or helmet? I got an LS2 and when I set it by my bike, it looks a bit more orange than red; looked better in the store. I like your helmet. Matches well. If it's a medium, I'll buy it from you. 2) What camera did you use for filming this and also when you were riding around? I'm looking for a GoPro b/c I heard they got tech that prevents the video from bouncing. I'll go cheaper for an older gopro, or a good camera that's less reputable, so long as accessories I need are avail. Thanks.
@raghibphotography
5 жыл бұрын
I still have the same bike and helmet and its size small. I used a Samsung S8 nothing special. The lighting that day was perfect, that's why the video quality looks perfect. Phone cameras area great but only when its super super bright and sunny outside. Go PRO is best. Doesn't matter what version you get... as long as its 1080p at 60 frames per second.... keep that setting and then convert your file to 1080/30 fps before exporting... you should be good!
What kind of helmet, did you get it painted, and what brand of tank pads? Sweet ride.

The light strips and HUD's don't draw too much power from your battery? Or do you have a second power source on the bike?
@raghibphotography
4 жыл бұрын
not at all, still using the stock battery and it hasn't made any difference at all. I also have underbody light kit that is installed and still no issues with the battery. I leave it on a battery tender during winter also.
How is the light at night? Does it light up the road or is it just crap? I just got my own 300 in green, kinda wanna do the same thing to mine as yours just green instead 😅
