F.A.Q Section - Ask your questions here :) Q: Do you take aircraft requests? A: I have a list of aircraft I plan to cover, but feel free to add to it with suggestions:) Q: How do you decide what aircraft gets covered next? A: Supporters over on Patreon now get to vote on upcoming topics such as overviews, special videos, and deep dives. Q: Why do you use imperial measurements for some videos, and metric for others? A: I do this based on country of manufacture. Imperial measurements for Britain and the U.S, metric for the rest of the world, but I include text in my videos that convert it for both.

Suggestion: at places like 1:12 flash the alternative value (in this case 184 MPH) on screen. That will simplify the "audible flow", if that makes any sense.

I think an interesting aircraft to cover would be the Westland Whirlwind, it's for sure an interesting design that maybe had much more potential than it showed.
hmm speaking as a non czech, it'd be interesting to see rex do an over view of Czechoslovakia's air industry before funny mustache man annexed the poor country

thats interesting , we seem to get little snippets of how advanced the Czechs were in the field of engineering before invasion , we know Porsche stole the beetle idea , we know they used a Czech design for a tank and we know the semi and full auto gun world was very much ruled by the Czechs

Porsche stole the idea for the bug from Czechoslovakia? That would make an interesting story to see.

The Czechs had a thriving aircraft industry in the 30s. Off the top of my head I can name Avia, Aero and Letov, probably the top three although I'm sure I'm missing others.
@LeftMech

@@kevindolin4315 Post war the Czechs also had some notable designs. Particularly from Aero, but there are others as well.
*Got to love the military bureaucrat mind* 'This is a superb aircraft which meets or exceeds all requirements' ! 'Ah. But. It was not ordered on the correct form sir'! 'Apalling - Discard it'
That plane is completely symmetrical. Vogt must have been having an off-day.
The co-designer, Richard Vogt, was an employee of Dornier which had a co-manufacturing agreement with Kawasaki. He later worked for Blohm+Voss, designing many of their major WW2 projects including the BV-141 assymetrical reconnaisance aircraft and the giant BV-238 flying boat. He was clearly a function over form designer.

He spent most of the 1930s and 1940s playing weird plane bingo.
Yet another episode that helped understand how much choice of engine makes or breaks an aircraft design.

........ And how efficiently over-reach breaks engine function 🙄 [I just watched a rather good vid 'Why Aircarft Engines Quit' on KZread Focus is on US GA aircraft - But if you like Rex's stuff it may appeal]
I’d love to see you do a video on the Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien. It’s a truly unique aircraft, with a unique history, being the only single-engine Japanese fighter to use an inline engine, rather than a radial one. Plus, it’s one of the slickest looking fighters of the war, hands down.
Dr Voght was involved? Why isn’t the fuselage on the wingtip? 🤔
Was re watching your caproni video due to lack of new japanese aircraft videos to watch... Then this appears 👌 thankyou Rex!
Been watching your videos for a couple of years now. I really appreciate your passion for planes. I've always been an aircraft geek myself, but your broad and deep knowledge put this old man to shame. I'm glad you are sharing your enthusiasm and presenting skills with the broader world of military aviation fans. Greg Turner, Indiana USA

And P.S. - I thought I knew warships and naval history until I started listening to Drach. You guys are amazing.
The first model with the enclosed cabin, I like the look, nice. Open not so much.
Yay! I’ve been waiting for this one!
great video. always informative, enjoy watching! Good work!
Great video, Rex...👍
Thanks Rex.The kawasaki was a very nice looking aircraft
This short video format suits me. Nice work Rex

Hi mate would it be possible to do a video on the Foke-Wolf 189c, it’s a bit of an obscure one, but I would like to learn more about it. Thanks, Rob T.
Thanks for pronouncing Ki correctly.
Kawasaki makes some nice motorcycles as well.

Wonder if the engine in my Kawasaki motorcycle could do better than the one in this plane.

They do, among many other things including satellites, railroad trains, and ships. Their C-2 is one of the best cargo aircraft in the world and the T-4 trainer is used by the Blue Impulse demonstration team.

@@NeungViewThey have almost no native industrial resources native to the islands other than coal, and their technical base went from matchlock guns to aircraft in the space of about 40 years, so they had to do by experimenting or import foreign experts rather than have a solid foundation of tech expertise to draw on.
Was the Ki-10/Type 95 related to this program? They have a bit of similarity to their looks.

Probably the same design family. Using the same engine doesn't help either😅
looks like a fiat cr-32
Make a video per day please.
You gotta wonder that when Richard Vogt finally returned to Blohm und Voss, he outwardly declared, "Alright, no more conventional designs. This time, I'm gonna do something radical!"

@@moblinmajorgeneral Yeah, but the BV 138, the BV 40, the BV 155, and especially the BV 141 are way up there in the eccentricity factor.
Ah, the Ki-32 is so fun to fly in War Thunder. It's so fun taking out way better planes with a single rifle caliber machine gun.
👍👍👍
All these designs, where is the game that starts Ww2 in 1933, you would have all these aircraft, rex has all the research, ❤😊
"... Or there abouts..." It made me snort.
I wish this abysmal bomber was in War Thunder
cant believe Glimbo’s japanese cousin messed up this aircraft
Talking about Japanese, might I suggest using Miyazakis "The Wind Rises" as the base of some future episodes, maybe some technical and historical background for the movie? Copyrights might be an issue but just using screenshots should be fine.
So the Ki 3's engine was a Japanese goblin.
Bro, you are always away.
Kawasaki existed before motorcycles? Who knew?😬
That Ki-32 just won ugliest airplanes: Japan edition. It looks like someone saw a Stuka once 2 years ago and tried to describe it 2 years later.
What constitutes "average "performance? Pretty much a meaningless term. Please expand on that.
