Kawasaki Brute Force motor disassembly

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This is an engine disassembly video on a 2007 Kawasaki brute force 650 irs bike which is identical to the 750 brute force engine with the exception to the cylinder size and the crankshaft dimension. The process will remain the same. Stay tuned for a reassembly video coming in the near future #ad

    Sometimes it can make a ring stick on the piston.Try and put some oil in the spark plug hole and see if will make the compression get up enough to allow it to crank.

    This is a great video, lots of detail and I really like that you explain everything very well. I just bought an 06 Brute 650 not running. Guy showed me a video of it running it smokes and a knocking noise. I have low compression on front head 28 psi and 90 psi on rear. I think it was sunk in water just guessing. I know it needs rings and once I pull heads I will check the crank bearings like you showed and see what else it needs. Your video was great at showing how to tear it all down. First question is what symptom would a spun crank bearing be? Second question when I picked this atv up it rolled easy put it on trailer set parking brake and the guy put it in gear and I strapped it down. Strap came loose and the atv moved on trailer a little. Now I put it in neutral and release park brake and can hardly move it. I jacked up rear end and its real hard to turn rear wheels. Have you seen this before and could it be the rear wet brake stuck or something in transmission? I know when I remove the engine I can try and turn the rear wheels and I will know then if it is problem in rearend or transmission at that time.

  • @FourwheelerDoctor

    @FourwheelerDoctor

    3 жыл бұрын

    The spun bearings often times show different symptoms. I will just list all the the ones I can think of. Bottom end knock, loss of power, starter dragging/ hard to turn over. I would about bet your front rod bearing is spun. As far as your brakes go. I would guess your cable was sized for the rear brake. See if you can get the arm where the cables attach to the front of the diff to move. It should release the brake. I doubt it has transmission trouble.

    Excellent video , I have a customer's 2014 Brute force 650 (this model seems to be Canada only, no 2014 's any where else ) with spun rod bearings , the engine is in good shape otherwise , the 17yr old owner really abused this thing and is likely the cause but I need to be sure it is not the bushing/oil pressure. the manual gives ranges for the bushing and journal but no acceptable tolerance . I measured them and the clearance is about .0035 . the manual says journal service limit is 1.652 and the bushing service limit is1.6567 so I assume the clearance here would be .0047 if I am reading this right ???? your thoughts would be appreciated. The pickup beside the stator is the sensor that controls when it fires. I didn't get a picture of it in my video but it is just out of the top of the frame at 9:43. The speed sensor only controls the speedometer and can cause some errors with the front diff shifting into 4wd. The sensor you are chasing is behind the left engine cover at the stator.

    There are really only three places to get water in the oil on these bikes. it could be your mechanical seal and oil seal on the water pump shaft. Both of those would have to be bad for water to get in the oil. Not real likely that's the problem. The other two places to get it in there is either the head gasket. Or your head could have a crack in it. I've never had a problem with head gaskets leaking on these but I have replaced a few cracked heads from time to time
