The Supreme Court opened up a can of worms and shook it up when they overturned Roe v Wade. Now, it's come back to bite them...

I agree with your principle, there is no way anyone but mom,doctor AND dad should have a say or pay for the abortion, others have demanded they be paid for with my money, so I want a say too, and unless it's LIFE threatening, you don't get to use my money to take am innocent life. Roe v Wade by the way was the government, or at least 5 members deciding, and none of them.me, if it was or was not allowed, that seems like a worse case scenario, and I would rather have a say in it if I have to pay.

@PajamaMan44 I would be fine with that as a matter of fact, there is no reason for them that isn't provided for via personal liability and reputation. it's an overreach and not their role or authority. managed quite well without for over 100 years as a matter of fact.

We all know what abortion is... It should be classified as what it is. A crime.

The anaphylaxis argument is not applicable in this case. We here in Idaho provide emergency care if a woman comes to the ED with HELP or eclampsia. We stabilize and send to antepartum care to save both the mother and baby. If the mother’s condition does not stabilize labor is induced in an attempt to save BOTH lives. Is that an emergency abortion? No. There is no such thing as an emergency abortion.

@anaverageamerican7224 As you described it, it is inducing labor and not an abortion at all much less an emergency abortion. If something is elective, is the ER supposed to perform it all? The on-call obstetrician would come in and perform it. Correct? And the patient is admitted to the hospital out of ER.

Emergency abortion is pretty much an oxymoron term. If the mother's life is at risk of death, sacrificing the unborn by abortion is always offered, encouraged, and performed. But this is still elective, not emergent. Even in Catholic hospitals. A few heroic moms choose to take the risk and save the child.
