ನಾವು ಕವಲೇದುರ್ಗಕ್ಕೆ ಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿ 2007 ಅಕ್ಟೋಬರ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದೆವು. ನಮ್ಮ ಊರು ಉಡುಪಿಯ ಓಂತಿಬೆಟ್ಟು. ಆಗ ಅರಮನೆಯ ಕೇವಲ ಒಂದೇ ಒಂದು ಕಂಬ ಬಿದ್ದಿತ್ತು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಕೋಟೆಯ ತುತ್ತ ತುದಿಯ ಶಿಖರೇಶ್ವರ ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಮೇಲ್ಛಾವಣಿ ಉತ್ತಮ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿತ್ತು. ಬಹುಶಃ ವಿಪರೀತ ಮಳೆ ಬೀಳುವ ಜಾಗ ಅದು. ಮಳೆಯ ಹೊಡೆತಕ್ಕೆ ಮೇಲ್ಛಾವಣಿ ಹಾನಿಗೀಡಾಗಿರಬಹುದು. ಅವತ್ತು ತೆಗೆದ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳು ಇನ್ನೂ ಇವೆ.
