A truly good friend would caution her about treating people so badly, even in jest. It just isn't funny, only cruel. She had seen the danger in past behavior yet chose to continue acting as she does. I do hope that she gets some real friends who are not afraid to tell her the truth about such things.

@@candice4855 Thank you! I have seen too many people who hold on to bitter feelings and use it in the guise of humor to lash out at other people, because they are not properly dealing with it. In her case, being a professional comedian, it is easy to exploit her problems in this manner to profit financially and professionally until pushed too far to be hidden within the humor anymore. I just do not understand how people can be so surprised that she received backlash for her behavior, that people can be so blind to the fact that we always reap what we sow, more than we sow, and later than we sow, just as Kathy did. I do hope that she recovers in every way.

@Denise Higgins Sorry that happened to you. I have have a lot of depression. There are a lot of people who don't know what to say or how to empathize because they have low empathy. I have been lucky to have some very good people who have been supportive and loving. The ones who weren't, I have had to "unfriend" them. I truly believe those type of people are incapable of being authentic friends. I don't want them in my life. I'd rather have a couple people in my life than the ones who are just Fairweather friends.

What a lovely, kind and thoughtful sentiment. I’m so, so sorry about your friend. I agree, it’s a blow to the gut to hear that someone you know has chosen their fate in such a way. Those personal thoughts and feelings can be well-hidden, a singular secret kept only to themselves for fear of judgment or simply shame. I dated someone in college who killed himself, and, yes, even these many years later it’s hard to believe he’s gone. I still don’t understand why he did it. Kathleen has made me truly laugh with her unique take on celebrity. I, too, am so happy to see her looking well and beautiful. We love you Kathy!

I attempted suicide in my past, but I promised myself that if I lived though it, I would do my best to make a positive contribution by making them laugh / trying to make people happy - life, friends, strangers... - at my expense, not at the expense of others. As a recovering addict myself, I knew she was addicted to pills when I watched her on an episode of The Wendy Williams Show a few years ago. Like they say, takes one to one. Everything about the way she carried herself on that episode was very clear to me that she was on something. For those who don’t know about addictions it might not be easy to spot but once you’ve been in those shoes, you can spot an addict from a mile away. You can tell she is no longer abusing pills, she even looks a bit younger. Hope she continues to do better.

I agree. Losing friends and family 👪 is very very traumatic. Her so called friends were actually conditional friends. It reminds me of the Jehovah's Witness organization. The GB of that religious culture, shun people when they make mistakes and your entire social network within this culture turns against you when you are shunned. A great many of people have committed suicide, in this organization. Child SEXUAL ABUSE is also a major problem that the leaders cover up. The Australian Royal Commission case #29 proves this. It took place in 2015. The whole culture of Jehovah's Witnesses are brainwashed and are in a DOOMSDAY CULT.

  • @tammyg8031

@RN RNOk. But remember, God said in his word the Bible that there will be a resurrection of the righteous and unrighteous. So, its God's decision to determine who rinders that kind of judgment. There are a lot of people in this world that have done very serious bad things. Hitler, was very bad & definitely demonic for what he did. As well the Assyrians on how 🤔 they did people even how they killed them. They were known for their cruelty and brutality. I not saying two wrongs make a right but we don't really know these people, we just see or witness an action. We have all errored and are imperfect. And some people do things like Kathy and don't APOLOGIZE. Coumo...the new York mayor apologized for his wayward disrespectful actions towards women and came to the conclusion to resign. Now whether it was a dishonest apology or not, we have to remember that we can not read hearts. Only God can. But one thing I can say about him is that all these other high profile, high position idiots that defile women and disregard, and disrespect them have not even given an apology to the victims. A struggling person is not a bad person. Jesus talked so much about forgiving one another and sometimes we can't even forgive ourselves. I truly appreciate your perspective and your voice and opinion on how 🤔 you feel, and I respect that. I just know that some folks are very slow learners and when egos get in the way, that's where they Etched, God, Out= E.G O....all we can do is pray. Even the Bible tells us to pray for our enemies.

I've watched this video several times. I definitely think the loss of her mom was a huge factor. If she tried to commit suicide in June 2020, that's three months after Maggie passed. She was without a doubt struggling with losing her, as anyone who is as close to their mother as she was would. That's another big reason why I feel for her.

I applaud Kathy for being honest and open about what she's been through. Ive learned from own experience with opioid addiction and mental health issues, that it's ok to not be ok. Accepting times are hard for you and that you're not coping is important. Trying to put on a brave face and making out things are great, doesn't work. And Kathy's friends abandoning her is shameful behaviour from them. At least she knows who are real friends are now. Those losers who abandoned her, are best out of her life. I'm glad she's doing better nowadays. I wish Kathy happiness and good health.

I have always thought Kathy was so funny, and loved reading her books. I must confess that I thought the head and picture thing was in poor taste. It was an awful reminder of what was happening for real to soldiers, etc. I had wished she hadn't done that. Now, with that being said, I was so devastated for her when the fallout with Anderson Cooper happened. I thought those two were so amazing together. I can still picture the two of them eating sandwiches together on that swinging bench. She was so good for him. I always thought that she put more lightness in him (got him to lighten up a bit). So Anderson, just forgive Kathy for making a joke that you never agreed with. How can you not be missing her?
