Doesn't matter what President is in office. Someone does that to Obama or Bush or Clinton, the same thing is going to happen. So I don't get the faux outrage by the Left as though this woman is being persecuted. She was the victim of some either 1) Bad advice, or 2) an idiotic choice by her to do such a thing. I love Kathy Griffin. She's a fighter. Reminds me of what the Lyndon Johnson administration did to Eartha Kitt in 1967 after she spoke out against the Vietnam war. It was 25 years before she worked in the US again. Eartha moved to Paris and had a successful career performing there and in other countries worldwide. @Amber Phillips-Hall As a Political Science major, that is a very good description. A demagogue, is a leader in a democracy who gains popularity by exploiting prejudice and ignorance among the common people, whipping up the passions of the crowd and shutting down reasoned deliberation.[1][2][3][4] Demagogues overturn established customs of political conduct, or promise or threaten to do so. Demagoguery exploits a fundamental flaw in democracy: because power is held by the people, it is possible for the people to give that power to someone who appeals to the lowest common denominator of a large segment of the population.[5] Demagogues usually advocate immediate, forceful action to address a national crisis while accusing moderate and thoughtful opponents of weakness or disloyalty.

@Toori Baba That is literally the basis of law and order, especially when crimes reach the scale of doing serious damage to a country. Was Kathy Griffin wrong? I'm pretty sure she told us all about it so take a wild guess. Is the president wrong? Only most of the time, and always to a lethal scale considering his position and what he incites. If we're ever going to hold republicans to the same standards as friggin' entertainers, they wouldn't be able to go one breathe without suffocating with all the wrongs they've committed and all the lives they've tortured and ended with their barbaric and selfish policies. Oh, and btw, the president is only a clown, anyway. What's the point in holding him to any standards now than before he got elected? It's the people who put him there that should face the consequences of their irresponsible actions.

The mindblowing part of Kathy's situation was that everyone knew it was a joke. Yes, a gross and shocking joke, but a joke nonetheless. It was not a real and true threat towards Trump needing the involvement of Homeland Security and the Feds. And yet our country's resources were spent on it. Why? To send a message to the American people of the president's reach should you displease him (just like in Russia, China, and Japan). For me that was unprecedented. In that moment everyone was put on notice as to what could happen to you if you used your freedom of speech. Why this gets even crazier is that Kathy was the only person to be attacked like this for what she did, even though the artist-photographer who came up with the idea and solicited Kathy was left alone. Why? Because Trump was just doing abuse of power because he never liked Kathy to begin with. They ran in similar Hollywood circles. So it was an ego thing and him getting the last laugh as to what he could do to her. A president using the power of office for a person vendetta is and should be far more shocking that what she did. And Kathy is right. She was not the first or only celebrity to demonstrate such an overt and suggestive move on the president. But all the others were men. Trump went after Kathy because she is a woman, whom he has zero respect anyway. Think about it for a while. What she did might have been a bit too far, but so was George Carlin just about every day. The bottom line it was a joke and everyone knew it; and yet it was treated like a real situation.

That's not the same thing as threatening to kill someone. Meanwhile, the guy she was parodying in the Oval Office has said one terrible thing after another about any number of women and done his best to ruin their careers, including those of the women he had affairs with, and nary a peep is heard out of his fans who adore the Dear Leader. @@garlicknot887 Exactly. The sheer amount of hypocrisy coming out of both Colbert and Griffin is disturbing, to put it mildly. He whines and complains about how much Trump is "threatening" the free press, and constantly compares him to a third world dictator, but the second a comedian as unfunny as Kathy Griffin pulls a stunt in which she receives a two month federal investigation for conspiracy to assassinate a sitting U.S. president, he doesn't so much turn a blind eye towards the situation, but also allows her to play the victim card by listening to her go "WAAAAAAAA TRUMP RUINED MY LIIIIFFFFEEEE!!!!!" How no one sees a double standard here is beyond me. If she had just apologized and ended it there, I would've forgiven her. But for her to now go on shows like Colbert's, do a complete 360, and claim that it was Trump her decimated her career, not her own stupid, dangerous stunt that did, shows what kind of a sick character she really is. But again, no one on the left will care, because she's part of the "resistance" in their eyes. So I expect her to make assassination joke after assassination joke following this interview, and for not even Colbert to care, because her politics line up directly with his. What a match made in liberal heaven the two of them are.

much damage is done by women against women . . by educated-personally-damaged women who have been recruited, and made allies, against a man's 'enemy-woman'. married men used to just get laid, and maintain mistresses, that way . now some divide conquer and destroy that way . . .turning (not-so) good Christian sister against sister

Kasper Joonatan “Anderson cooper called me disgusting” No. He never did. He said the photoshoot Kathy participated in was disgusting but he still considered her a friend. In fact Kathy herself told Howard stern that Anderson texted him multiple times last August.

Funny.. just bought a bunch of her specials on Amazon and other places a few months ago, and I will be buying each of them again now. Plus I'll binge my life on the D list, which I've never seen. Support this one, she is a true powerhouse comedian!

After seeing you on this interview, I have more respect for you. I'm sorry for saying I didn't like you. I do now. So sad how you have been treated you. Life can be so unfair. My son is in a mental health facility and now has a deep vein thrombosis. And that isn't fair. My son deserves better then this.

This should be a longer interview. Her journey is one #MeToo saga, which although does not involve sexual harassment, tells of a universal issue of ganging up persistently on a person mainly because she is a woman. Colbert should have Wynona Ryder as guest soon.

You do know that these late shows don't beg people to come on right? The celebrities are only there to sell their product. It's just advertising. Then they have something to promote, they beg the last shows for a spot.

Honestly it isn't a "me too" case since she wasn't targeted 'because she is a woman' but because she publicly criticised the Great President Bonespurs.

MCL MG But why does she constantly lie about Anderson? “Anderson cooper called me disgusting” No. He never did. He said the photoshoot Kathy participated in was disgusting but he still considered her a friend. In fact Kathy herself told Howard stern that Anderson texted him multiple times last August. So which Kathy am I supposed to believe? In her cut magazine feature she says she was hurt that Anderson was publicly calling her a friend even though they were not on talking terms. And that she told him their friendship was over when he texted her multiple times trying to reach out. What is the truth? Which Kathy am I supposed to believe?
