i just think there's something inherently sapphic about ballerina rivarly. first black swan, then flesh and bone, and now birds of paradise??? i'm still waiting for the universe to prove me wrong idc.

i had no idea about this movie until i saw someone celebrating kate & marine kissing and saying how they were glad that the movie didn't queerbait (spoiler: it kinda did tho lol). i'm a simple girl, i see sapphics kissing, i have to watch.
about the movie, some parts i enjoyed, some i didn't. i feel like they didn't go all the way with the bird imagery/metaphor so at the end some elements felt rushed to me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but, if you're a sucker for sapphic enemies to friends to lovers to enemies, bird of paradise is the movie for you!
also, the song is from the neon demon ost ; it fits so well because both movies definitely have the same vibes.
