I totally dig the vibe of this song
Saw them live in 2004 in my hometown of Kristiansand 🇧🇻
I don't know, not my favorite either but Katatonia is more of a vibe to me, especially since the sound they started with The Great Cold Distance. It's the stuff I'll listen to in the Fall when it's dark and rainy. Or when I'm feeling melancholic. Lacrimas Profundere is also in the same ballpark to me.

My Favorite record fron my favorite band 😊
I can see not liking this one much, since it's not very dynamic. But it stood out to me from the first listen, mainly for the atmosphere (a strength of that album as a whole) and the groove from the guitar and bass. Simple but very effective.
I have a request...New Horizon's Apollo
Night is the New Day was a very hit/miss album. You had some pretty boring tracks (like this one), but then you had amazing tracks like "Day and Then the Shade," "The Longest Year," and "Idle Blood."
Had to go back and check the album and yeah this one is really boring. There are so many better songs to pick from the band, don't understand the choice here... even more when considering their most beautiful song is on the same album (Idle Blood).

unfortunately the worst song from the entire album. I even like departed better.

Katatonia probably isn’t for you. Their sound is very melancholic.
