is a grounding thing too, you can tell he is on some mental health pills of some sort and he is less manic now that when Kasabian was massive, its a cbt or theraputic way of him trying to keep his natural manic down, he has worked and you can see him working to stop slow his brain down, you see his brain is manic alot is coping mechanisms to be as normal as poss, he talks alot better now his mouth and brain are more connected now, without what help he had he must have been in chaos and im not defending him as an innocent man but you can tell he cant switch his brain off full speed.
I'll give him a fair hearing, but you don't beat your female partner. No excuses.
As a massive Kasabian fan, I appreciate the nuance of the situation. But that’s exactly what it is, nuanced. It would be wrong to presume Serge was entirely to blame as well.

@JohnDavidSullivan

Sorry, but I don't see how something that happens in one's personal life should affect the band. If he'd been physical to the band I would say fair enough. The best way to deal with this was for Serge to come to Tom and say, look do you need a timeout to get your head straight and come back? But that didn't happen and Serge was looking for an excuse to get rid of him. And he already has taken responsibility he pleaded guilty. That's enough. This still smacks of a mega fanboy that doesn’t want to accept that one of his musical heroes plead guilty in court to a “sustained attack” on his partner. Tom plead guilty after viewing CCTV of the attack. Anyone that hasn’t read the details of what appeared on that CCTV footage, should do so. You will then understand exactly why Tom plead guilty, and why the CPS prosecuted. Great you got Tom on for this James , this needed to be out in the fresh air! He really had a rum deal the way he was treated by Kasabian and the gutter press - and it’s sad that Serge was an arse to him as well , he was jealous of that voice Tom”s got though weren’t he!! 🔥
A couple of things here confuse me, 1, Tom says he was made to sign a contract to 'gag' him from talking about Kasabian yet in this interview and other ones he is doing exactly that. 2, He says that it was his wife Vikki who called the police during the 'incident' as Tom was suicidal and Tom ended up with two black eyes. Why would she need to punch him in both eyes if he was suicidal during an argument? Domestic abuse whether it's from a man or women is never acceptable. 4, Tom says he was spiralling into drink and drugs because he knew it was the end of the band, but it's very clear in the last few years of Kasabian he had been acting this way for a long time and i'm not surprised if Serge and the other members got tired of his excessive ways, they needed a lead singer who was with it and reliable. 5, Tom mentioned that the band/management offered him short term support but he clearly didn't take any of it and refuses to accept any blame for his own behaviour. 6, it's quite telling that Serge and the other members have remained a dignified silence and Tom just comes across bitter and quite petty, I mean moaning about the name of the studio? If he was that bothered by it all those years ago he could have recommended they call it something else. It's great that he's cleaned his act up but he needs to take some responsibility for his part in getting kick out of Kasabian even before the incident with his wife.

So insightful 👏
If you watch Tom’s solo gigs and compare them to the versions Kasabian do now, the songs look and sound better with him. The energy’s gone from Kasabian now. I hope he tells them to jog on when they come crawling back, which they will.
Looking forward to the next chapter, great frontman.
It's a dangerous, incorrect and misleading assertion to state that the CPS went ahead with the charges in this domestic abuse case in order to "cover their arses". The CPS only go ahead with prosecutions against the will of a victim if there is absolutely zero doubt that it is warranted to do so. If your pub punch up didn't lead to a prosecution after you decided to drop the charges, that's solely due to the fact the CPS didn't feel it was warranted to prosecute without the victim's support. Genuinely think this misleading and incorrect information should be edited out as it's absolutely not the reality of how the British justice system works and could potentially undermine how people view all domestic abuse cases that are carried without the support of a victim. Irresponsible journalism.

I don’t normally comment on KZread videos but I’ve left a few on this one as I’m shocked at how many give him a “pass” because of his apparent struggle with mental health, fame, drugs etc. Bottom line is he battered his partner(a woman) & his band rightly sacked him for it.

In US this would not happen but I’ve heard of this happen in the UK. As much as the US can be as a “fascist” police state, it’s not as much of a police state as the UK. Remember this is the country that prevents you from voting if you criticize the govt & you’re not allowed to watch p**n

Lovely to see Tom. He does have a top stage presence. Hope he's in a good place and happy.
Love this 💙 thanks
Choose kindness, choose compassion…well said.
Great show mate. Tom seems like a good guy
What I love about these interviews like the Rick witter one is that it’s about the person being interviewed and not the host, I listen to radio x and when the likes of Moyles or Vaughn do interviews it’s always about them trying to tell their own little anecdotes, these are great because there questions that we like hearing.
James this is golden, you made it. You are way better than most of journalists out there, keep going this way you deserve this channel to be massive. You are great. Thanks a lot for your content and the work and love you put in every single of your videos. Love ya
Good to see Tom back where he should be, performing and making music
Wow. Great interview. Liam G should be next. Love this channel here in New Jersey USA.
I always had serge on a pedistool, but 💯 Tom made them Kasabian the epic band that they are… and to try and push him out has been shocking!! It’s obvious serge is happy with this outcome and it’s what he wanted. End of an era and I’ve gone off them altogether, Go Tom - we’ve got your back! 🙌🙌

Kasabian was better with him in it but it's his word against theirs so you don't even know what he's saying is true. Plus he was an alcoholic at that time, not exactly a reliable source
Great exclusive mate wish Tom all the best,to many people in this world ready to throw people under the bus for mistakes they’ve made we all live and learn
