The GBA version is genuinely better than the PS2 one, it even has Spyro and the bosses as unlockables.

You know which is an underrated Crash kart racer? Crash TAG Team Racing 🛐 The amount of detail that went into it is AMAZING and I hardly ever see anyone talk about it It had great new mechanics, an "open world" with platforming and an awesome design, killer easter eggs, amazing soundtrack and an incredibly good multi-player I really really hope you could do a video on it someday 🙏

Crash Tag Team Racing's still my favorite ps2 crash title, it may be the only kart game with a standalone platforming section

4:06 There's actually a reason for this, in a good half of the international releases for the game, they didn't have time to finish all the portraits, so they just upscaled the GBA ones for a couple of characters, with Crunch being the biggest example. Look around online for footage of one of the later releases and you'll be able to see the way better finished icons.

Crunch and Polar had different ranking sprites in the european version of the game. You'd probably prefer these.

in conclusion, great video. i agree about this games worse problem was being a successor to CTR.

I only played the based Crash games, maybe I should visit these Kart versions

I grew up playing the GBA version and it was genuinely one of my favorite games on the console. The physics felt really good for handheld and the drifting felt super punchy. Was very satisfying to just demolish the field when you got good at it.

also man, DON'T PLAY ANY SONIC GAME ON PS2, Much prefer Gamecube or Xbox, you can emulate it on Dolphin or XEMU or play the Xbox port on the Xbox 360, Gamecube on Wii too.

I remember playing nitro kart on ps2 what i like about it is that its the first one to actually give crash a personality, in other crash games he was abit goofy and silly but in nitro kart he has a few facial expressions such as giving one of the champions a yoyo as a gift or giving a thumbs up when the bandicoots were challenging the emperor, also the ability to use two teams and see their own endings were pretty good, the soundtrack was charming.

I actually like Crunch in this game as well, it's a shame that in the subsequent games he's just forgotten or gets evil one more time and then, back to the bench
