@@van-munozfamilyadventurest5021 Depends on Playgroup. In my Commander Playgroup we dont play Competive. You dont see Cards above 5$. Im not even running Sol Rings, because we play so Casual and relaxed decks, even while i have sol rings in my collection.

Oooh! Same here. A coworker bought me an old Quantum Quandrix precon, but I'm now playing, but still need more practice. I keep being the first to die. I'm surprised to see Adrix and Nev being in this new precon since it's my commander in the precon I have.

Nelly also removes a blocker by suspecting a creature so if someone only has 1 creature you can free attacks. I think thats being overlooked

removes a blocker permanently with each attack, and those creatures won't be able to block your opponents for your second ability. Goad just solves the weaknesses of Suspect in a great way.

Yeah I got the precon yesterday and played it against my friends and realized exactly this. Removed a big blocker and made it attack other players.

Maybe at the beginning of the upgrade section, the stats breakdown can pop up on screen. Then that can briefly inform the direction of the upgrade choices. "Looking at the stats," insert stat screen, "We thought adding more X would be important, so let's start the upgrades with Y" kind of format. That way there's a frame with the stats, but y'all don't have to read or discuss every stat. Otherwise, the new format seems great.

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe like a temperature gauge by each stat to show what you think the stats represent. We don't need a breakdown just a quick glance " oh the ramp is hot in this deck but the main theme is cold." As an example. Of course the breakdown of big topics is needed but I think you guys did a great job with the stats, to the point of not having it is like, "wait my lunchable doesn't come with a Capri Sun and cookies." You spoiled us.

I love the energy, fun, and enjoyment of playing Magic that Rachel brings to each episode. I appreciate her perspective and the way she breaks things down. She has been a breath of fresh air for this channel, and I often find myself smiling or laughing about something she said. 10/10.

I think the stats segment should still be in the video in some manner, but I love the two decks in one great job!

said it in the last video but I don’t think the stats section is necessary anymore since most precons have good removal, ramp, draw, etc now out the box. but a quick look at unique stats or underindexed stats in the Upgrade Goals section before going into the adds would be a great compromise.

I like the double upgrade format. I did like the Stats segment though, and would love to see it's inclusion, even if it's just a quick slide and a few lines of commentary.

I like this new side by side comparison. Love this show! Recently discovered MTG and I'm obsessed. First deck I bought was WOE Fae Dominion because you guys ranked it S tier and I absolutely love the deck. I've added over $100 in cards to it and it rocks.

I kinda wish that you guys would still review the backup commanders. Because the slight review for the backup commanders is one of my favorite things.

Just checked MTG goldfish and regarding deep clue sea there is now only 7 cards above $5. Total deck value is around $113 cards above $2 come in at a total of $73 Not a criticism I know there's a time delay recording production just wanted to give updated information to people who might be picking these up this week. 👍

This isn't a bad thing though. some of these cards were so expensive that people on a budget could not afford to spend 10+$ on singles but can easily rationalize spending 45$ on a precon to get gameplay out of them and then deconstruct it for parts. I love that WOTC are making these reprints affordable!

the value obv drops immense after a precon with the reprints is released, reprint value is always before pre order is available and before the prices dropped

I'd be really curious to hear Rachel's rationale behind KCI in the Deep Clue Sea deck over 500-Year Diary and/or Jaheira. It's obvious the deck wants a ton of mana, and both of those do a ton of heavy lifting for way less dollars than KCI.

So I know this isn’t a traditionally “good” card for commander, but for Deep Clue Sea check out Agent’s Tool Kit from NCC. If you run Sophia and Tiny as your commander it curves out such that you can play it the turn before Sophia and when you do play Sophia and Tiny, you get two creatures entering the battlefield so you can move two counters from the Toolkit. You instantly get a shield counter for Sophia and a Deathtouch or Flying counter for tiny.

I like using Toolkit and anything that animates an artifact, especially Case of the Filched Falcon, since it can make it fly.

@@TooMuchBSTooexactly. I’m running rise and shine in the deck so even if toolkit is played in the late game it could a be a 5/5 flying deathtouch artifact clue creature with a shield counter when you animate your board of clues.

Smuggler's Share+Nelly Borca equals 2 cards on each opponent's turn instead of Nelly's one. Honestly, it's so good with this commander.

Great format. I like 2 decks at once.

Prisoner's Dilemma will go in every commander deck I have that includes red. It may not win lots of games, but it WILL make lots of memories. That makes it an auto include.

I really like this two decks/one episode format! Good idea to try this out!

I've seen a number of games with these precons and Nelly always drew an absurd amount of cards. I would definitely keep the Blame Game and the Havoc Eater in the deck. They both work really well with what the deck wants to do imo, and they are super fun.

Ramp Turn 2, Turn 3 Nelly, Turn 4 Attack - Suspect (don't forget: Suspect can turn of blocks in the early game for safe attacks) - Get something like Bastion Protector in there and prepare your defensive gameplan and shape combat while drawing a lot of cards. It might not be the strongest thing around but you make a lot of meaningfull choises as soon as the first Nelly trigger goes on the stack. It's a blast to play.

My cute addition to Morska is Jaheira, Friend of the Forest! Enjoy having the clue tap for G AND being able to be sacced for the draw!

I have had a ton of fun using that and 500 Year Diary from Dr. Who to produce mana with my clues.

since I've just returned to magic (only played Eldritch Moon and Kaladesh) I got Deep Clue Sea and Revenant Recon. Upgraded them both based on your recommendations and my god! Rise and Shine and Cyberdrive Awakener really tipped this deck over for me! Managed to play both, one after the other and my goodness it was insane to see the interaction!! Thanks so much for videos like this, definitely helps new players!!

I got the deep clue sea pre-con and did some upgrades to it, but I specifically changed the commander to The Third Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith and leaned way into the academy manufactor artifact token junk side of things.

I really miss the stat section introducing the deck. Maybe “best cards” and “high value” cards can be condensed to leave room for going over the stats breakdown

I just got my hands on the clue deck as I have wanted to build a deck around that theme for a while now. I must agree that the commander itself might be a bit boring but it makes it possible to get all the fun cards together for clues. I'll see what I can do to spice it up!

Personally I love the two in one and the comparison at the end is probably my favourite part!

Sarah Jane Smith is also a detective which is very on theme for the deck!

@@iainbarnfather4545 Blue probably hates Koma even more since it cannot be countered and Black absolutely hates Farewell... So Red doesn’t have it too bad. There is always burn 🔥 for player removal. That fixes most problems.

@@Dragon_Fyre that's debatable, answers to Koma range from Imprison effects like Wit Pro and Kenrith's Transf, exile effects, and -X/-X effects. Red is the only color without access to those answers. Blue has the most imprison effects. Gotta hold my Chaos Warp closer to my heart.

I can’t stress enough how great Psychosis Crawler is in Deep Clue Sea. It’s been a key card in the four victories that I’ve had so far (undefeated!) it’s incredibly easy to just draw 2-4 cards a turn with this deck and people don’t clock it as a huge threat when you play it. Consider leaving it in!

Love this new format. Would love to see the stats show up somehow but other than that this is super great!

Wow loving the amount and quality of high value reprints recently

I really enjoyed the breakdown stats. It kinda swayed my decision to get certain precons.

I played Blame Game (unchanged) today for the first time. Our table was Edgar Markov Vamp Typal, Theoden, King of Rohan humans matter and Eowyn, Shieldmaiden humans matter. It was round three after I got dumpstered twice because my friends are afraid of me, so I whipped this out and said, alright, y'all wanna fight? let's fight. Markov played an Armageddon (I know) and I enchanted Eowyn with Vow of Duty. Markov got us all to like 5 life when he got knocked out with commander damage, I kicked out Eowyn with Gideon's sacrifice on my boros reckoner when the other guy Earthquaked and then finished the last guy thanks to Gisela. For anybody contemplating: Markov couldn't stop laughing when I played Mob rule as he had a huge board because he knew it was all going at him and even though he died first, he messaged me after the game saying that this was probably his new favorite deck. Theoden player is contemplating just getting it as well, because it's honestly so interactive.

I brought deep clue sea but only to completely rebuild it as a Sophia, Dogged Detective deck. All the good dogs 🐕 ❤

Episode format is nice because it feels quicker like the time between this one and the last one feels shorter and we’re getting more out of it so it feel nicer. As for the decks I got, and upgraded the blame game. it puts in some work. most people liked that it kept the games moving, and they really liked drawing cards. trouble in pairs puts in massive work when it’s out cuz your commander goads multiple things each combat past the first one she’s attacked on due to them being suspected (because I’m pretty sure they stay suspected). if the deck is playing right everyone’s throwing hands so she doesn’t even have to swing sometimes, like sometimes her just being out you can be like “hey if u deal damage to either of the other people you’ll draw a card” and they are ok with that. That being said they drew for turn then draw from Nelly so it triggers your smugglers share and your trouble in pairs. I forgot my master Warcraft but that’s the only card I’m looking to change out and it’s gonna be for that big fire bird elemental.

Digging this format, thanks for the hard work! I'd recommend [The Sound of Drums] from the Dr WHO set to upgrade "Blame Game", it softens the blow of having your creature goaded when it can do double damage so it's a better political barganing piece AND you can always recur it from your graveyard if you didn't need to use those untapped lands threatening Comeuppance! ;) Better yet, [Convenient Target] from the MKM set is functionally a 2nd copy in BrookNelly's Nine-Nine! To keep up the roleplaying, I also have to strongly suggest we include two Aurelias: the Warleader, and the Law Above. Bc she's Rosa and she'd kill me if I didn't

I didn't even think about being able to crack a clue for free on each turn. The new tezzeret seems pretty good 👌

Love this new format of 2 in 1!! One video for each deck was too much content focused on that. If it is even possible, all in one video would be great for me. Maybe it can't be done with out a reeeeeally long video Thank you for listening to the communty ^^

Well, good thing i got the whole 4 decks for 129$. These precons have very good cards.

Played my very first game of paper magic and commander today with the blame game pre-con. I won without getting hit and it was so much fun!

A note on the price tag against Fiendish Duo: it's only this high because it's only seen one printing before in a very small product (a "game night" box), so I'd expect this particular card to drop off dramatically in the near future. The effect is decent, but pales in comparison to Gisela, Blade of Goldnight imo

I’m definitely overhauling Blame Game a bit but it looks like it’ll be a blast to play. It’s going to look similar to Jordan’s Breena deck but in Boros.

For Blame Game, I would rather take out Etali than Prisoner's Dilemma. Etali is 6 mana and doesn't really synergize with any of the deck's themes or mechanics, especially considering the deck doesn't really have any haste enablers. Also, Life of the Party from New Capenna is a great inclusion if you're looking for cards that give your opponents free, goaded attackers.

I think the overall show is much better. The only exception being the lack of a visual aide for the decks' stats. I think just having it on the screen with the numbers and categories is such a big help to players.

I love the new format. Overall, I am excited for Blame Game. I am going to dismantle one of my other Boros decks to steal some cards for it. It produces a fun play pattern for 4-player. If you happen to be in a 3-person pod, it'll make for a feel-bad situation, so tread carefully.

Nelly Borca is the perfect Sun Forger deck! In slower value oriented Boros like this it is insane and you even get good use of the +4/+0 since Nelly will then turn into a serious wincon. 6 commander damage a turn is a lot when everything is suspected or goaded.

Blame game is a lot of fun out of the box. Played it against 3 other precons from varying sets and it did wonders! Trouble in pairs is bonkers...

I play an orzhov deck and included mangara after watching Rachel's white good stuff. That white Enchantment feels like an auto include

As a newer player. I appreciated the stats section of these videos. It was just a nice thing even if they are 'less relevant ' as these decks get stronger as they have been over time.

I bought that clue deck, mostly for value but I was thinking to build Sophie deck around historic value, blink and some neat clones like Sakashima of the thousand faces 🤔 some weird ways to win not dog tribal.

I purchased three copies of Firemane Commando for my decks when I discovered it. All of your opponents attackers are turned away for the low, low price of one card. Unless you're down to 1v1, It's a pretty sneaky way to skate by harassment and garner favor with opponents. Even then, you're still getting extra cards for attacking.

For the clue deck, I was also gonna add The Third Doctor, Urza, Lord High Artificer, and some other spice based around artifacts and using them in different ways. That's the route I'm going for when I get Deep Clue Sea.

Cephalopod Sentry is a sneakily good $0.01 card in this deck. 2 Blue White, */5 “Flying Cephalopod Sentry's power is equal to the number of artifacts you control.”

Like the new format, old one was, well, getting old. However would like to see you consider adding cards from the set associated with the precons. There are cards in the new set that would work well in these decks. I appreciate you don't know the cost of these cards yet, so perhaps as another side section?

Might buy both. Nelly for a build and deep clue sea to pull apart for singles to add to existing decks. Def getting deep clue sea though, see how I feel whether I get Nelly or not.

Deeeeep Cluuuue Seaaaaaaaaaaaa. Already been playing the deck for two days. Upgraded around 20 spells and switched the land base with the one from the Blast from the Past precon, shocklands, and the matching triome. The deck is INSANE! I was playing at the local shop all day yesterday and everyone was like "I need that deck" after watching me pop off.

So the Prisoners Dilemma card, as well as Mob Verdict, fit well in the DW Davros deck for villainous choices. Same with Rakdos, Patron of Chaos in the main set.

One other cute card for Blame Game is Tenuous Truce. More card draw, and it can help incentivise an opponent from attacking you since they benefit from that draw too

I have smashed with nelly with no upgrades went 5 and 0 first night i bought it. There is so much potential with that deck, im upgrading as i write this and cant wait to get my over powered nelly out again!

"Boros which used to have a reputation as the worst color combo in commander..." Good. Keep underestimating me. That's the exact same mistake that Xerxes made when he faced Leonidas and the 300. For Aurelia! For the Legion!

I can't agree with cutting Finale of Revelation, because it can easily be your finisher in case you have Alandra, Sky Dreamer with some drakes on the board, or you untap 5 lands with it and cast Knowledge Is Power, which also can finish off you opponents in one swing. Of course it certainly depends on the power level of the decks you play with, but if it is close to precon, it is a very powerful card.

Prisoner's Dilemma seems like a hilarious card to copy multiple times on the stack.

Blame Game is the most interesting precons of this set. Political play and reaping extra benefit from white's usual altruistic play are the way to go.

Clock of omens goes hard in deep clue sea

I think if you swapped the cards to add with the cards to remove section that would make these flow better.

KCI is not a 30 dollar card down under :) minimum is about 50+USD shipped from CK in less than a month shipping time, or 40-60 AUD for MP. Any Suggestions for replacements on this one?

Out of curiosity have yall ever addressed the fact that nearly every deck gets the secondary commander removed from it? Part of me understands the why wizards does it. to give you some more options but it always just leads to a more clunky deck feel bc they then add about 5 cards for the secondary commander that are just dead in the deck.

Would be nice if you could suggest some upgrades from the main set, even not knowing the prices, put them is as a would be nice to add sort of thing.

Sage of Lat-Nam let you sacrifice a clue (artifact) by tapping it. Does that mean that you get the effect from the clue as if you had paid for cracking it?

Not very budget friendly, but Displaced Dinosaurs, Jaheira Friend of the Forest, and Urza Lord High Artificer are all great upgrades for Deep Clue Sea. On the more budget friendly side, I feel like the deck could potentially turbo it's way through dungeons with Thorough Investigation, as well as deploy Rampage of the Clans is a fun alternate win con.

A pet card of mine that fits the deck and surprisingly isn't in the deck is Master Warcraft. Goad is good, but just choosing what goes where, lives, and likely dies is a bit better.

Few other ads to clue deck to consider are things like Urza and Jaheira to allow us mana generation without sacing our clues also clue book from doctor Who is a great include. For token support we can use Mondrak wich also gives us possible sac outlet if we want to synergize with the +1\+1 counters Doubling season and primal vigor are also quite a good option as is Ozolith. Then i know its boring but if we have Urza/Jaheira finale of devastation is just perfect to finish the game.

I was starting to worry that you wouldn't cut winds of rath, I'm not sure what they were thinking inlcuding an enchantress board wipe in a deck with like 4 auras that you put on your opponent's creatures 🤣

I think that's the point. It clears off all creatures except those with your auras...which have to attack, and can't attack you, and now have the way completely clear to punch your opponents in the face. I still don't think it's a good include, but I can see why it's in here.

When I see Rise and Shine, I think of the Sword and The Stone when Merlin awakens his tower, and the items all start packing itself.

I like the Bant one because of the name entirely. "Deep Clussy"

I don't like the side-by-side comparison of the decks that much, because it feels like it can create a false dichotomy. If you're going to do a comparison of the precons, it'd be better to just do the whole lot of them so that players can see the bigger picture. That and I miss the in-depth discussions about the individual precons that the previous video format allowed, especially in regards to stats, since that's typically a more concrete way to get across the overall quality of a deck versus just opinions. That being said, Deep Clue Sea is probably my favorite of the bunch. Morska really ties the deck together, since she's a very direct way to convert the value it generates into damage, which I can appreciate.

Can someone explain better why Koma is a possible remove in this deck? Token doublers with Koma give a ton of control over the board. Yes its expensive but doesnt everything it brings make it worth it? Relatively new to edh

Academy Manufactor made my turns PAINFUL when playing this deck this week, it is really good but it was agonising LMAO

Esix is amazing from a combo perspective. Worst case your commander is on the board and you can duplicate another powerful creature. Best case you summon Hornet Queen and go brrrrrr.

Hey I'm new to magic and looking for a new precon to play vs my friends, my fav deck so far is Draconic Destruction. I'm debating on getting Cavalry Charge or Veloci-Ramp-Tor. Which is stronger or more fun? Thanks in advanced!

A friend of mine plays the dragons deck and when they get the dragons out, it's scary. But it's very slow without upgrades. Just my obs

2 cards I'm considering for my blame game upgrades are bedlam and angels trumpet Make those attacks count

double strike should trigger the commander a second a time for the red white commander. Additionally the new 2(w); 2 power creatures or less cant be blocked and double triggered abilities for power or 2 or less will be a great in it too.
