The remark about how Ricky is like an iron lung because he needs him for his career but he wishes he didn't was absolutely brilliant; that man is NOT stupid.

There was nothing happening behind his eyes lmao In all seriousness he was a really nice guy, he chatted to me for a bit about his xfm days, he’s a genuine bloke, and he doesn’t seem to be very fond of the Hollywood scene and all that fame. The vast majority of us have an in-built barrier that prevents us from saying such things out loud, though. He sees himself as an awful conversationalist who can't chat up women, but he really says whatever pops into his mind, and it makes for great entertainment. He doesn't take time to consider whether or not he should be saying what he's thinking, he just says it, and that's what makes him a brilliantly unintentional comedian. Most people learn how to instinctively and almost effortlessly analyze and sort out their own thoughts at an early age, but Karl is a middle-aged man who simply doesn't possess that ability.

I agree with Karl 100%. If you can do it yourself, do it yourself. What's the sense in paying someone to do something you are perfectly capable of doing regardless of how much you make. It's the principle...and if you want something done right - do it yourself. Why pay someone money to do something halfassed when you can do it comepletely and right the 1st time. I agree, Karl. I agree.

This is quite possibly one of the few times Karl is having a go at Ricky. "Your problems are not normal", "You don't know what it's like having him as a mate", "I wish I didn't need him" etc. It took almost 400 hours of radio and podcasting (and verbal abuse) combined, a trip around world twice, an staged abduction and a televised rectal exam for him to stand up to himself.
