It's videos like this that start off saying "careless drivers are all around us" that make these new bikers think they do no wrong, this is where the victim mentality comes from. I drive my car about half the year and it's mostly these younger bikers that are going too fast. Tell it like it is and quit telling them everyone is out to get them.

This all won't happen if they had gone slow. Due to the overspeeding by the bikers, they don't have the time to react when something happens. Im not telling that bikers are overspeeding, but sometimes drivers also drive like shit. they are not careful about how they are driving, and this could lead to accidents.if they drive responsibly, the accidents' risks will also decrease

To answer your question on 9:12, those cops are Carabineros de Chile, the main police force in Chile. The police uses insurance policies for this kind of issues, and usually fill a report in the same place of the accident. If the affected citizen is not happy with the result or the police does not colaborate with the process, you can go to Court like in every other case.

9:25 almost the same thing happened to me on the same bike last year. Had my new MT07 for 2 months and a drunk driver saw me coming over a block away and still turned left in front of me when I got within 15ft of his Jeep.

This is how my motorcycle season ended on my first ride.... Me + Motorcycle + 40km/h + gravel= Low Side & Shattered Scaphoid Bone.... Oh, and could have thrown my inexperience on a bike into that mix of why I crashed.... Live and Learn I guess!!

Just the other day, I was in the lane beside and behind this lady for about a mile, and as soon as I was trying to move through her blindspot to be staggered in front of her, she takes my lane fast without a blinker or anything. It was the closest i've been to getting taken out yet, one of those moments where you just have to react. Rev-bombing or using the horn and i'd have been in her rear door. I just gave her a big stupid wave and all of the space after that.

12:45 a good example of doing everything wrong with riding a street bike.

WelshMoto Is I guess a new rider. Unless it's signed you don't have to go left at a roundabout, so as the car did not indicate you have to assume he is going to go straight on. The broken down van was blocking the left lane so the BMW wouldn't be able to get into the correct lane until he was past it, so charging down the inside was well risky. He perhaps should have indicated but I doubt if that would have made any difference, you need to upgrade your hazard perception skills. Ride safe.

I feel like I maintain pretty good awareness of what's happeneing around me when I'm on the road but I can't say I've been able to mantain complete awareness on any drive or ride.

So about 5 weeks ago my friend crashed his bike and broke his wrist, at that time he had only been riding his 50cc for around 2-3 weeks. It was rush hour and traffic wasn’t moving, so instead of him filtering through the middle of the road he decided to filter on the left side in the bike land and hit some mud and fell off. Me and him constantly argue whether he was in the right to split on the left or not, I’m saying it was his fault and he’s saying it wasn’t and that you are allowed to split on the left in a bike lane. Someone please tell me who’s right?

Can I please ask most of these riders to start driving defensively? A cager thinks you are skilled enough to get out of their way, with you being smaller and taking less room on the road. You need your senses to see situations, that's defensive riding. Letting them get on your nerves takes away the pleasure of riding. A good rider is one who gets on with their ride and gives cagers a moment of dreaming to be you, free and on the open road. A bad rider retaliates to their ignorance. Be a safe rider, watch your surroundings.

@@Daniel31216 If you read the highway code, all the examples it gives is for 2 lane roundabouts with 2 lane entry and 2 lane exit. If there's only one lane.....which lane are you supposed to be in? I'll give you a clue, there's a choice of......one.

@@swoop1352 Roundabouts are a little different, but at a normal intersection, if you're going straight, you keep to the right of the lane so anyone turning left can slip through on the side. You can't exactly do that with roundabouts, but you should still keep to the right unless turning left.

@@Daniel31216 In a car, when someone is turning left at a junction in front of you, should you swing out to the right in order to go around them or slow down and wait until they've gotten out of the lane completely? Would you swing out to go around them if the car wasn't indicating a left turn, but still looked like it was turning left? What if the car was indicating right (er....btw, reverse all this if you're in America) but looked like it was turning left? ie, he was about to do a U turn. Now apply the same logic to roundabouts that are single lane (and if there are no road markings, it's single lane no matter how many entry or exit lanes there are) and I ask once again, is it sensible to overtake on roundabouts even if you think the car in front is turning left? P.S. I'm just trying to keep you alive here.

@@swoop1352 At a roundabout, I've been taught to only stick to the left if your turning left just like with a normal intersection. Obviously only one car can go at a time, but at a normal intersection, you you can fit the two cars in the one lane. I'm pretty sure this is the same everywhere in Australia, but it's probably a little different where you live. The guy in the video just made it seem like it was the same up there as it is down here.

I did re-watch it and where they entered I can see where you might get the impression the car was probably turning left, but still no line and only 1 lane so I guess biker was just surprised, but car didn't do anything illegal?

@@NWquadriders There wasn’t any traffic built up, so it doesn’t really matter. But in Australia, if you’re approaching an intersection, you need to stick to the right so any cars trying to turn left can slip in beside you, even if there is only the one lane. But if you’re at a round about you can’t really do that, so it shouldn’t make much of a difference what side you’re on.

Jumping back to the original interaction with the VW; while I have seen a few comments stating it looks like a single lane (and I agree) the VW driver needs to put the phone down and concentrate on driving as that was rather erratic maneuvering. Angling left only to go right is confusing to anyone behind you. I only know the rules for roundabouts in the US, but signaling would have helped a little. Drive predicably, and use signals correctly, so other can react accordingly. That was a lot of 'ly' for one sentence.
