    Not gonna lie, the cat story had me laughing the whole time as I have been in both situations of horrible skunk smell and the workout of bathing an uncooperative cat (separate times thank goodness). I recommend going to like a Home Depot, Lowe’s, or anything like that as they usually carry something that can industrially deal with skunk smell, maybe a pet store too. As for the smell on yourself weirdly tomato juice helps a little. Lemons too.

    The story with a gamer husband, I wish the wife just packed that tree and actually took it back where it came from and let that man leave. Sounds to me like he wanted to leave no matter what, she should have made it easy for him without even getting to the point of telling him he's just like his mom. All in all, it doesn't look like the 2 of them are gonna last, they're not currently working towards 1 goal and that's a red flag.

    Story 5; Heh, yeah. The smell of skunk spray is just indescribably horrible. When I was a child in the 90s we had this little rat terrier that managed to get sprayed by a skunk. My mother doesn't have a working sense of smell due to a medical issue and she just let the dog in when it started making upset noises. The dog just runs in and immediately starts to rub herself all over everything to try to get the smell off of her. Including *_me._* That smell just does no come off easily, and even after multiple showers and bathing myself with tomato juice I still stank like skunk even days later. I even got sent home from school the next day because the shell was still stuck to me.

    Story 3, is not the jerk. That lady was way to sensitive. A similar thing happened to me once. My parents and I had gone to this restaurant, which was unique and new to me. We are seated, and our waiter comes around, and asks if we need a kids menu, while looking at me. I believe the kids menu at this restaurant was for 12 year olds or younger. Instead I was like, “ah no, can i get a (alcohol), drink”. He of course had to card me, and was completely surprised and embarrassed when he saw I was 20. If anything, being told you look younger than you are, is actually a complement. Now, we just get to share a weird story, and get a laugh out of it. So yeah, I was told that I look 12 years old, when I was 20 at the time. And I was the one treating my parents out for dinner to top everything off, that just made things funnier to me.

    Story 1: If I were the security guard in the theater, I would kick the Karen and her annoying kid out. Everyone, even Karens deserve a second chance. But NEVER a third. Story 2: A tale of two jerks. Though honestly, I think while the OP is a big jerk for throwing a recently discussed insecurity in her hubby's face, I think her husband is the bigger jerk due to his slothful and aggressive behavior. On top of not taking part in a family event that happens only ONCE a year, he refused to help find his wife's dog, which means a lot to the OP. So ultimately, OP? You're better off without that lazy sack of anger. If discussions in therapy don't help, leave him and never look back.

The bf trusted her about sth in the past and she threw it back at him to either get a reaction or to get some easy "revenge". Both of these ppl are red flags and shouldn't date until they've worked on their flaws. As for the relationship, I don't think it's fixable. The trust is gone.

  • @michaelwojerski

    @michaelwojerski

    Жыл бұрын

    The op is in the wrong for bringing up the family issue in the argument but something that needs to be remembered is all the things that compounded the situation. The continuous gaming, the second place relationship, the blatant disregard for the op’s worry for the dog and not helping look for it, the jab at the decorations and wanting to make happy memories over holidays, the threat to leave if the op returns the tree that he brought up getting, then returning right back to gaming, and then leaving the house. Sure the wifi thing was not good but the op was just trying to get him away from the games, i mean the whole reason for the argument is because of the gaming and the husband does not even try to listen to op about it because as soon as the fight is thought to be over the husband heads right back to gaming. The wifi can be seen as a passive aggressive way to get the husband to talk with op in order to get through the issues that they have. And the using the parents, yeah that is bad but who hasn’t said something they regret in the heat of the moment and regretted it afterwards. Op was seeing red from all the problems happening and all at once that she said something wrong and knew after she said it that she should not have. I probably would have done the same thing in her position, hell i would probably be saying a lot harsher things after all that happened. Yes, i do not believe that the relationship will last, the trust is gone from both sides, but it must be understood that both were at fault for this and what lead to the decisions made. To make any clear judgement i would like to know why the husband acted the way he did as well, as we know op’s side, if we know the husbands side as well then we would be able to make a clear judgement as to what was the main contributor to the problems. Just based on the post, the main contributor to the problems are the husbands PTSD, as some other comments stated, and his reliance on gaming to cope.

    For a longer-term fix, I'd suggest looking into getting that cat fixed as removing the testicles will reduce the drive to reproduce and fight in pretty much all male mammals. I'd also talk it over with your veterinarian about potential anxiety solutions like medication to keep his freakouts from future fireworks barrages, like one milligram per pound of body weight of Sudafed, the human allergy medication, will act as a sleep aid on dogs, but I'd highly suggest checking with that veterinarian before trying it with your cat.

    I will never understand why people let their cats run their households. Like. You’re a grown ass adult. Stop taking orders from your freaking pet. Have some freaking self respect. I’m a husky owner, and anyone who has ever owned one will know how much they will try to argue with you about things they don’t want to do. But if you let them, all discipline breaks down, the dog goes wild, and there is no controlling it ever again. Realize that you are the boss, not the cat, put your foot down in the beginning, and stop letting it run your life for you.

    Story 1: How did they not just kick this stupid bag out?? Im very surprised the OP, or even the staff, didnt completely lose it on this woman and her kid.... i've seen staff throw people out for way way less. OP isnt a jerk at all. Story 2: Ok, both the OP are the husband are jerks here. I think the husband was mostly the bigger one for all the time with games and not helping with the dog, but the OP pulling the mom/dad line on him was completely going overboard and was totally uncalled for. I understand things can get pretty heated in fights, but that was certainly crossing a line. You both either need some counselling or just end it, because this won't get any better after all this. Story 3: Wow. The OP isnt a jerk and did absolutely nothing wrong here. In some of those restaurants that have children's menus and big groups like that, its a pretty standard question to ask, especially if more people are possibly coming. The Karen here was just being snooty and rude here, nothing more. Story 4: If you get someone that is this clingy, RUN! This will only get worse over time. Story 5: Ohhhhh boy. I DO know the smell of fresh roadkill skunk and it is just brutal.... and it lingers for a long time! I would feel bad for Hongo here, but not as much as i should. I get pets dont like fireworks, but its also a cat that like to fight with other animals, so im pretty sure it was deserved, as the skunk won't spray you just because. Hopefully the stink goes away and quickly, and hopefully Hongo doesnt go out and pick fights with skunks ever again.

She asked why. We said to her that her and her kid just complaining and trying to rush is ruining our experience. She got angry and her kid cried. Her kid didn't even want to be there. We ended up talking to a manager at the end and he even thought about putting in better regulations on ppl going through the mansion. And told us how the other staff handled it wasn't what was trained on.

    2nd: I don't know if it's common but it became common over here in restaurants to ask automatically if we want kids menu / portion. They ask regardless of a kid's presence. The reason is: someone might have eating disorder or diet or just eats less.

    Third story: Don't feel bad. I was a hostess/server for several years in the late 90s early 2000s (holy hell I'm old now). About a week ago when my husband and I were out to eat and she asked if it was just 2 of us and started walking us to a table, I stopped and told my husband, "She didn't ask us to sit in smoking or non-smoking. I have really bad asthma. Should I say something?" As if I had been transported 25 years back in time. It was so embarrassing.

    I grew up in the country and we only had a few dogs get sprayed by a skunk. One of those dogs was our 3 legged beagle and she was not bright. She got sprayed 3 times in a week. It was bad. I don’t know anyone who was sprayed by a skunk and tbh I have never seen one outside before. I’ve seen lots of other animals including turkeys a fox and coyotes. But never a skunk. I also grew up in the 80’s/90’s and spent most of my childhood outside. I am glad I never saw a skunk. I worried about that for a long time.

    Nah that second story was a whole mess, but it definitely started with the guy being a jerk and ended with a very insensitive comment from her, she should apologise for that final comment, but honestly he also really needs to re-evaluate his life and relationship, if he puts games before everything else in his life that's an issue, I would also be annoyed and hurt if that situation happened to me, he didn't care about the dog, he said he was frustrated about the decorations and then got more frustrated when she was taking down the decorations that he apparently hated so much, threatening to leave her if she returned the tree which makes no sense like my guy make up your mind do you hate the tree or not? If his intention was to try and smooth it out and say she didn't need to remove the decorations and return the tree then he went about it all wrong, then he just went back to his games instead of trying to sit down and talk about it. Her disrupting the WiFi could annoy anyone but I don't think she was a jerk for it, it should have been a wake up call for him to see he can't just ignore issues and play games when they could talk about their problem and work it out and then enjoy games later, not to mention he always leaves her out of his attention to play games, that's not how a relationship is supposed to go, you make compromises. He was childish for leaving because of the WiFi, but then it becomes more of a her issue by calling him, she should have probably just left a message asking to know where he was and if he would come back in the morning so they could talk, but their frustrations escalated until she said a very hurtful thing, and she should apologise for it, I understand you can say hurtful things when you're frustrated and overwhelmed, but even if you can't help it you can at least apologise immediately, it doesn't excuse it but at least it doesn't let it linger like a bad taste. If they don't talk it out then that relationship is over, there's a small chance they could salvage it but only if they have a long and calm talk about everything

    I'd say the opposite. He should divorce her. Those things can be worked on and therapy can resolve it. Using a person's deepest most painful insecurity because you want to completely destroy them as a human being can not. That's malicious, hurtful, and people end their lives over comments like this. It's absolutely sick that she would say this to someone she claims to care about in anyway.

I mean if my sister tells me can't find the dog, i run off hard, leaving anything aside. And the OP overreact for taking the Christmas decoration like that in a fit of rage. And to top off, put that phrase. Steam the bed with white distilled vinegar and water, and hope for the best, you might need to take the mattress outside to sit in the sunshine and let the sun disinfect it. Skunk spray is no joke. I silly the the lady got offended that the waitress ask if the table needed any kids menus when it was a broad question that was not directed at anyone. She just chose to make it about her and chose to be offended for pitty points I guess. As someone who gets mistaken for a lot younger than they are often, even if it was directed at me, I wouldn't be offended, as their intention is to be accommodating, not upset anyone (and at least they asked and didn't just assume). Also, a fun reply for this one (if you don't actually want the kids menu lol) is to say "oh, no thanks but I would like a [insert prefered alcoholic drink here] please".
