I am surprised the bus driver waited for her and her children. He was being considerate, and she repaid him by being incredibly rude.
She's lucky the bus even waited for her and her kids!!! I hope the bus company banned this woman for life!
I just feel bad for the bus driver-

I think there's more then just favoritism here. I think the OP's parents are also doing it to try and curry favor from those future-in-laws so that they can maybe get money from them in the future.

Last Story: This reminds me of my friend Gary and his family. Gary couldn’t afford a wedding, so he and his wife were going to elope. Gary’s parents flipped out and demanded a wedding. Gary said “We cannot afford it, we are going to elope.” His parents said “We’ll pay for it!”. But as they were starting the planning, Gary’s parents shoved a promissory note under his nose, insisting that he pay them back for all wedding costs. Gary said “What the hell is this!?”. His parents explained that they were going to need Gary to pay them back for the wedding costs, which were estimated to be about that much. Gary flew off the handle and refused to sign it. He said “What’s the point of demanding that I have a wedding, claiming that you’re paying for it, only to demand that money back? I didn’t want a wedding in the first place, due to COSTS!”. The parents tone policed him and shushed him like he was a screaming child, he cussed them out, tore up the promissory note, called off the wedding, and eloped with his wife instead. Two years later, Gary’s sister Donna is engaged. Gary and his wife are doing better financially, as Gary got promoted and they were able to get a nicer home on his salary. His parents call and ask Gary to foot part of the bill for the wedding after he received the invitation from Donna. The costs were TWICE what Gary’s parents wanted to spend on his wedding. Gary asked “What the hell!?” again, for a different reason. The parents said “Well, the bride’s family pays, Donna is marrying a rich and important man, from a rich and important family! We need to make a good impression!”. When Gary called them out on the cost of the wedding being more than what they would have expected him to pay them back for his, they said “But you cancelled that wedding and eloped, and you got that promotion with more money, so who cares? It’s none of your business what we decided for a budget on your sister’s wedding!”. Gary said “It’s my business, when you demand I help foot the bill for Donna’s wedding!”. After a lot of arguing, Gary cut off his parents and refused to go to Donna’s wedding. He would have sent a gift, but Donna swore at him over the phone later that week for refusing to come, and for “flaking out on covering part of the cost” (despite Gary explaining it all to her). Gary called her a Bridezilla and blocked her as well as their parents. TL/DR: My friend Gary’s parents demanded he have a wedding over an elopement, despite him explaining he couldn’t afford one. Parents offer to pay for it, but demand Gary pay them back. Gary refuses and cancels wedding. Two years later Gary’s sister Donna gets engaged, Gary’s parents want Gary to help with costs which were higher than what his would have cost. Gary refused and called parents out on that, they said that they were paying so much for the wedding because Donna was marrying up above her class. Then they told Gary it was none of his business. Gary said if he had to pay, it was his business and refused to come to Donna’s wedding. He would have sent Donna a gift but she insulted him over phone, so he cut ties with their parents and his sister.

His parents are massive Golddiggers. They offered to pay for the wedding but only as a way to try and get money out of him afterwards. And I’m sure after Donna’s wedding they pulled the same stunt
That bus driver actually did the woman and her kids a favor waiting 30 additional minutes for them to return to the bus. He could have unloaded their bags and left to keep his schedule. The woman with the broken phone was absolutely out of control. And what made her think the repairs would be free? A better question is why didn't she take the phone back where she purchased it for repairs?
It's sad that the father is just a pathetic person who needs a lesson in common decency to his family at the very least. I see why Mom divorced him

My dad has a cousin named Karen. One of the few of his family I know well and genuinely like.
Home made gifts can be much more wonderful because they are handcrafted which is posh and normally more expensive than factory mass produced things, plus they have a personal touch so if it's from a person with good vibes it's all the more gorgeous, the opposite can of course also be true if gifted by a person with sinister vibes whom you might not like. Who doesn't like couture for example? Plus the love and thought that goes into can make you cry with gratitude.

As an autistic person, the dad from story 2 is mean. Gifts that are made in my opinion mean a lot because a lot of effort goes into making them
I've never heard of waiting for someone that was 30 minutes late.
Story 1: If my dad was driving that bus. He would have left that Karen and her children the moment 10 passed from that break. Yeah, he would be chew out by his manager but he would point out that he has other stops to make and he can't wait any long than he had given those people. Another scenario is that if he did wait for that woman and her kids and she give him crap and being racist, you be your ass that he would cuss her out, as well as other words in both English and mostly Spanish, and tell to get the hell out of his bus. Story 2: Oh hell no! That father is a POS. No wonder his wife left him. Good for op for having an awesome mother. Story 3: I am fortunate enough to know I have better managers than op's. Also my personality would not let me to take crap from that kind of attitude from a customer. I would say "I am sorry to hear that. But there is nothing I can do." and when the customer finally lose their cool My manager will step in and then ask her to leave. But that me and my manager. Op needs to take lesson on how to take verbal assault or something because if you are working in retail, you are going to face customers with attitudes and hurtful words. Story 4: Ok, op is a beast. They (because no gender was given) just told that lady the facts about the service and let her rant on the second all while taking his break. Depending on how long their break was, it could be 10-20 minutes for all I know. Surprised she lasted that long. Any normal person would just hang up after not getting a response after a minute or two. Story 5: Ok, 1) I, and also my mom, am glad that me and my siblings are all guys. 2) Op has every right to be pissed on this blatant show of favoritism. Oh wow, she is marrying a rich guy then why not get him to pay for the venue? If anything, I believe in that if you are going to have a wedding, BOTH families have to contribute to it. But hey, this is coming from a gay guy that will have to fund half of his own wedding because I don't want to ask for help from my parents on it. Unless it's for the alcohol because I know jack shit about good deals when it comes to beer and odds are my future husband and his family would want beer in the wedding, along with my side of the family.
They might fix it for free in Story 1 if it was the phone manufacturer and it was under warranty.
Ah, the stereotypical mexican route for karens
At my father birthday he got tonnes of bought cards and one hand made whitch was mine. that night after the party my mother caught him throwing every card in the trash except mine when my mother asked him why he said "these one where hand made this one is" he said holding up my card my heart melted from joy after he said that.
I got into multiple kinds of art so long ago I cannot recall when I last bought a gift for anyone and not one recipient has ever complained, and I mostly draw.
Love this stuff man keep it up
Nobody is getting paid enough for dealing with Karen's
That was too bad. The father had to make the boy feel that he did not appreciate the homemade gift, which had taken the upstairs so much time to make.
Why are people racist like there is no reason

The wedding story: What woman’s family EVER pays for a wedding? Sounds like obvious favoritism.
Story #4: if that was my personal repair business, i would censor out all the names and post the recording, that's the kind of shit that others need to hear, that's the kind of shit that should follow that Karen for the rest of her life :3
The bus driver went beyond his job and waited for her to return. He should be given a bonus for this
Story one: this one sounds similar with a worse karen and her brood , when people got off her kids went through peoples bags , they stole jewelry, phones, switches, anything, and Karen refused to give them back and tried to run i know one guy tackled her because they stole a ring he was going to purpose , and decked her in the face
In botw o have collectors anxiety I have all best weapon
Story 1: As a Mexican, I find the stereotype about being from outside America a little insulting.
The bus driver was a jerk for making everyone wait for them. Five more minutes and your out of there.
Worked retail for years, alot of stories, I would get screamed at all the time for us not having either a specific item for a customer or a certain amount for a customer, thing that i got the most people paying for their foos on food stamps cause they didnt want to work. Would always give me the, how dare you not have what i want my money pays your salary, eventually i got annoyed with this so i would snap back and say yeah? Thats cool my hard work pays for ur food stamps to leach off the government
In country noone will wait for you for half an hour. You dont come on time, you're on your own. Where ever you are.
Last story idk if is just me but if fells the parents favor the sister and her husband’s family more seeing the sister and husband are doctors while seeing as the ops wife family isn’t well off probably not good of Job am probably overthinking things but idk I always get that vibe in these types of stories
bro got botw on the switch. nice
You know he was being overly generous I mean other bus drivers would have left with or without her
Breath of the wild is really addicting I don't blame the original poster. I'm shocked they pade attention
Here before this goes viral
I hope the bus drivers ok😢
Some people have no sense of punctuality: sure we've all been late at some point, but most of us learn from that to prevent it from happening again in the future, and of course then there's unforseen circumstances; but some people think it's ok to keep other people waiting and mak f-ck all effot to be on time. I've heard a story about a tour that had to cut some of the later stop points from the tour becasue one woman was, as the bus driver put it, "consistently late," with geting back to the bus. The other passengers probably weren't too happy with her.
I'm autistic but can pick up sarcasm

I really don't understand why the original poster on that second story is wasting her time trying to earn their father's affection like seriously dude this man has taken every opportunity to make you feel like crap and you're still trying to win his affections over the only person you should really be caring for is your mother your siblings and those are the only people that you should feel that should have any approval for and you should just not bother with this guy if he's going to be a dick head about everything

First off, who cries at verbal abuse? Secondly, no bus is going to wait for a rider for 30 minutes, 5 minutes tops, but likely less! IMO, these are all made up stories which is fine, but I prefer reality. Good luck to you, and it does appear you are doing something right so keep on keepin on! 👍😎✌🗽
