Sohail seth has been found giving willy nilly silly suggestions. Don’t think he is a Titan in front of Karan Thapar. The content of his questioning or the underlying logic doesn’t require him to be so aggressive and put up air of authority, most of the time. He is not saying anything that hasn’t been said to defend the current government, even by his IT cell chiddis. He asked no question that was difficult for Karan or could even put him in a tough spot. Being friends with people of different political views is natural but Sobail is giggling as if he scored a point. But to be honest both of you are out of touch when it comes to what common people feel about economy and job market, crippling inflation and wealth gap, crippled justice system, discrimination and violence against women, minorities, backwards casts. You two rich bafoons are just sitting there wondering why people criticise or not this government vs other. They did the same thing too. Where in reality people are just fed up of criminals and politicians churning out policies that are not in favour of people. People are sick and tired of your political debates that considers politics as a sport and brings absolutely no value to the people of the society. I think this type of political debate is utterly pointless if you are just going to be busy feeling witty about the political game, if the purpose of it all is equally damaging to people.

Loved this interview. And truly admire Mr.Thapar. From this interview it's reconfirmed - to me at least- he's a person with his heart at the right place, and his intellect occupying most of his grey matter.

Well done Karan. You have summed it up well.. Modi is popular but his vision is a divisive India. It will be South India that will change India for the better

Just coz it's sounds amazing doesn't mean this has to be followed everywhere. People of the country must know what's good for them. I am yet to hear one Political party which says if the incumbent Govt has made 40 km Expressways and highways in a day, we'll push that to 60. I will definitely reconsider my vote, but I don't think I shall vote to those who can perpetually and only see hatred everywhere. Am sorry but I can't buy Mohabbat sold by those politicians and the reasons are simple, we need Infrastructures and this Govt is on an absolute mission mode. We are Bharatvaasi not Indians.

Karan thapar is history.,i havent seen him interviewing any personalities in recent years.,With Karan there was always a propoganda.,narratives .,and i see him glorifying all of his past . He looked great when there was no social media.,Now people are all well informed.

There plenty of leaders in BJP who are corrupted. One local example is Yedurappa in Karnataka. Modi clearly favours Adani.. and there’s no clarity on election bond received by BJP. Every political party and government system is corrupted in India. Don’t fool yourself saying BJP is clean. No political party is clean in India except perhaps AAp to an extent.

Atleast BJP has an ideology whereas the Congress has no real ideology & is a hostage of minority politics. The Congress has sold themselves to Minorities & now they can't back out. What did you expect when you treat Hindus as 2nd class citizens & then expect everything to be alright. The rise of Hindu Nationalism is a reactionary effect of Muslim appeasement. The Congress should have known better before getting into such a soup.

Extremely Enjoyed Suhel Seth & Karan Thapar interview. I couldn't make out who was interviewing whom infact. But, Karan you answered Suhel on each point he asked you. Very Nice....

Courageous, fearless, clear thinking & good understanding of the situation. Always calling spade a spade !

Modi is Hindu and he is proud of it. Why is that something others fear? He has a right to follow whatever religion he wants. He has motivated so many Hindus just because he represents Hinduism. He has also promoted Indian history and heroes of India in the youth so that’s good. Muslims he has helped a lot.

Lets see if BJP surprises us all by putting up a Muslim candidate ... for PM. Ok, so what has Modi ever done for India? Ans: he has polarised the Nation into Them and Us. In other words You are either with Us or against us. A great explanation of why Congress has no impact. Great discussion both intellectual and practical. Who knows Modi is a wily politician and could well have the guile to call Thapar and request a 2nd interview. Excellent!

Mr. Thapar's anger against evil, is called Righteous Anger or positive anger so much needed in our countrymen today. But the whole population is so complacent and blind to the country being led out of Loktantra.

Such great communication. I grew up listening to Karan and learnt a lot in terms of formulation of thoughts, usage of vocabulary and general articulation. I may or may not agree with all his views but he is an amazing interviewer

Respect for Karan has increased? How? He mentioned about increase in anti islam in the country, but failed to mention "Sar Tan se Juda", "hinduoo ki kabar khudegi JNU ke dharti pe" etc. which lead to anti Islam sentiment. He is smartly mentioning the cause but not the root cause

Mr. Thapar is a Genius! He is unbiased once he has his journalist cap on. As a journalist he doesnot have to act like a doormat while asking questions, bowing or bending backwards. He is curt! In India we are either rude or bow down completely. Which to some people who still need to grow up, feels like an attack. He never attacks, his questions are rather an opportunity for an individual to clarify or share their opinion. His language, his oratorship, his relevant questions, his delivery, his assertiveness...its all brilliant! Journalists like him should be studied by the current students of journalism Huge fan!!!

What a beautiful interview. It is always a pleasure to hear Karan speak. He is honest, decent and a true journalist. Kudos to Suhel for a well structured interview that was probing as well.

The chances of Yogi becoming the PM are pretty slim. He is not from the RSS and the Walrus's team will never let him become PM. He was made the CM because the BJP did not want a Bal Thackeray in UP. UP will be broken up soon and Yogi is not going to get very far. I wouldn't hold my breath on that. 🙂

KT is frank and brutal in answering probing questions, just as he expects others to be same. Great and memorable interview.

I was fascinated with Mr. Karan Thapar reading his weakly colum in news paper when did not have a phone but now I'm mesmerized when got a phone and listen him interviewing people.

Don't agree with him on everything but this man is best one on one interviewer. Much respect from AJK

Karan Thapar is a Name to reckon with...such fine English delivery . courtesy.packed ...display of such gentle etiquettes...energetic modulations of expression ...Karan beats his age in numbers .God bless him with good health...he is one of the few precious gems of bold media v have.

Karan Thaparji, your Wire is the only channel of our entire Indian media that has the courage to call a spade a spade and axe an axe. The rest have been gagged from speaking the truth and boldly standing up for the truth. I keep praying for Mr. Thapa that what happened to every dissenting person, be it Mahua Moitra or the other parliamentarians of the Opposition Parties or journalists like Lankesh. Our Democracy is all but dead.

Absolutely loved it. "I wish he wasn't my Prime Minister". I remember Suhel from his Equus and Bhutto days. As a senior in school, we looked up to him. Those days seem a century ago. Great interview. As an American Muslim i believe Indian muslims and most muslims around the world should have and could have done better in their societies to become indispensable and raise to the top. What counts is how much money, education and business not how many people in numbers.

@varoonshekhar4023 Frankly, Karan Thapur hates anything to do with Sanatan Dharma and it's amazing 10,000+ year AMAZING VIBRANT CULTURE In terms of time before 2014 , I recall, India was really dysfunctional. Eg we build a bridge during Commonwealth Games and it would collapse,( due to curroption resulting in purchase of cheap substandard materials to build the bridge). Until demonetisation, gangsterswere brash and used to laugh in the face of politicians. Now they are careful. In cities like Mumbai, bridges remain incomplete for 20 years due to curroption..... absolutely pathetic!! Not any more. India is BOOMING..... and in the next 50 years MY INDIA....MY BHARAT will be a world beater. I only wish we had this amazing growth and development in my grandparents time

Journalists and academics like Thapar, the Wire et al, have a real problem with identification and affinity with Dharmic consciousness and spirit.

I liked this interview Karan. You were righteously honest in this & you took the moral high road. Im beginning to reconsider viewership of your journalism. Thanks to Suhel as well for this unbiased interview.

Decent... depends on what you mean by that. He is an Thapar from the Romilla rank. His hatred for Hindus is palpable and visceral at worst which he so skillfully hides with camouflaged light hearted perspectives. Such intellects are more dangerous than the ones who have no qualms about wearing their intent on their sleeves.

Missing point here. There a majority of the population in south India that doesn’t want or support Modi or his policies. You are only seeing it through the lens out in ncr or thé so called larger Hindi belt. India is a vast country, look out oh the well too

The likes of Mr Karan Thapar are a rare breed in the present times. He must continue with his incisive touch without succumbing to expectations of favours of the interviewee. That's one of reasons why people are so keen to listen to each of his programs.

I watched his interview with Musharraf and he was rather kind to him. Speaks volumes of his love for his brethren in Pakistan

Democracy , unfortunately is the Game of Numbers & Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the hard working & devoted Prime Minister.

Nice and very candid interview. Go on as long as long as you have genuine interest in what you do and you feel you have a moral duty to bring facts in an analytical manner before the common man without prejudice and malice. And I hope, you are capable and honest enough in discharging your role as a journalist.

This is a good gesture and also gives you a 360 degree view...Every Journalist should do something like this and most importantly have to give the chance to pick the real opponent who is decent enough.

Karan deftly avoided being cornered when Suhel stated that brand India image was being destroyed by opposing Modi. Karan rihhtly stated that it was the policies of Modi and his government that was hurting Indias image abroad. He went in to explain in detail ,how it was being done. An outstanding journalist , on the mark and in complete awareness of what is happening in our country. Kudos to you Karan Thapar . May your tribe increase!.

For a change, it was great to see Karan answering some tough questions, put up by non other than the famous celebrity, Suhel seth. 👍💖

Mr Thapar is certainly disliked and despised by thousands ,but equally admired and liked by thousands ,Both the tribes continue to grow,in huge numbers .He will always remain relevant ,in the vibrant and tolerant ,Great democracy that Bharat is.This is indeed a memorable interview in every way.Great.♥

Thank you Suhel for bringing perspective to journalism. Being a journalist doent mean only my view are right because I am a fearless journalist. Journalist also needs to have a balance view , specially when it comes to countries brand image , rather than a clear agenda to be famous by targeting certain section at the cost of damaging brand India.

A friendly style conversation is amicable, and the hospitable interviewer didn't quite follow Mr Thapar's style of belligerent intelligent avalanches to satisfy the curious listeners across the country. I liked the casual prodding and mutual respect displayed during the dialogue.

Who the fcuk needs your brand with pity, weakness and mercy of others... Modi is building the real brand of India called Bharath with full of strength and strong foundation ❤❤

Interview was good. In what way South India has been benifitted by his govt till date. Acting as brand ambasidor to only his home state is not fair in our view.

Karan and Suhel it was an exciting and a transparent interview and I give 100% to this episode wherein Karan was very point blank in answering questions put across to him by Suhel. Karan has been very straightforward and his interviews always are very informative about people and their perceptions. I have always admired his way of interviewing and today I loved his confessional answers to Suhel's intelligent questions. I encourage Karan to continue his interviews without any bias and ignore those who have made mockery of democracy, governance and secular values of this great country. Men may come and men may go but this country shall prevail. One day all these stage extras will disappear and only heroes will prevail .

This guy lives in his own world.

I liked this interview very much. So open and honest. I watch Karan Thapar's interviews and he does a good job. I also felt that Suhel Seth was being very open with his questioning. So overall enjoyed it.
