The freeze frames of the rooster against the blue sky and afternoon moon were second to none. Calendar shots. Amazing. Thank you. If we could count up the hours in dog training, and everything else, man, there is a ton of work that went in to that video. It is appreciated.

Can’t believe you only have 937 viewers. These are fantastic videos and the dogs are awesome. Good shooting too. Unfortunately I shoot a lot more clays than birds, but these videos and pictures are some “comfort” for my hunting urges. A shotkam video split screened with the flush would be cool too, but a lot more complexity in production (and extra gun weight). Anyway, great content and love your dogs.

Thanks! Highly recommend upland hunting with dogs. It’s can be addictive though!I use a Franchi Affinity 20ga which I have had no trouble with. I use a hero 9 black GoPro for my videos with the head strap mount. Thanks for watching.

Beautiful place ! Really fascinating ! Great expanses and grasslands. Reminds me of some western movies. But is there still a type of animal from those parts called : prairie dog ? It was like a kind of mormon that had the characteristics of making holes like wild rabbits . Then I still don't understand what kind of dogs you are using for hunting partridges , and pheasants . They would look like braques .

@@TRPLCCOOP As I understand it, you're hunting with kurzhaars. Here in my part, in southern Tuscany (central Italy) some people use them both for pheasants, quails and woodcocks. Your dogs are so well trained. Did you start them yourself? Please tell me what the beeping noise is as you get close to the dogs. Is that a command for them to hold? Great video editing! I love the still shots of the pheasants in flight edited out of the video!

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching. I use the Garmin alpha 100 system. The beeping is usually notification of a dog on point. I usually run 2/3 dogs at a time and when the other dogs back/honor it is due to them stopping. I also use it to let the dogs know to change direction or to deter the greedy dogs from stealing the retrieves from the other dogs.

Thanks! A friend let me borrow his 1967 Browning Belgium Lightning 12 ga to try out. I had a hard time hitting anything with it and went back to my Franchi affinity 20 ga. It was a really nice gun though!

Thanks! Unfortunately, we do see quite a few coyotes. One of my dogs pointed one in some tall CRP last year. It’s in one of my videos from last year. I think there is a great debate on whether the coyotes or the hawks are harder on the bird populations.

And I-70 to the Nebraska border. Unfortunately, my failing health in recent years, has forced me to give that up. Glad you are finding the birds!! PS: I will watch your previous videos to see that!!

Do you generally hunt public land in Kansas? Debating coming there next week to get some pheasant/quail hunting in as SD looks pretty snowy.. any direction on where to aim for in Kansas would be super helpful. I promise I won’t shoot them all!

I hunt all public land in Kansas. It was getting hit pretty hard this week. Still some birds around but be prepared to do 10+ miles a day and have plenty of dog power…

@The Good Boyz a suggestion that I would have (if you can)... Come and hunt the WIHA tracts during the week, instead of the weekend. Those places get absolutely hammered on weekends. I can't give you any tips on where to go though. I haven't hunted upland birds in about 25 years.
