    We have work to do yet as he still needs to understand "Come" is not a request but a command. He's catching on to "Whoa" and I think we can figure out recall. @@TRPLCCOOP

    Great dog work, steady to wing and shot, most people don’t realize the time spent training to achieve this!

    Thank you! You’re absolutely right. I run them in field trials as well and there are those that say you can’t do both wild birds and field trial but I disagree. If the dog makes a mistake, which does happen, don’t shoot the bird… Thanks for noticing and thanks for watching.

    Nice GSP you got there sir! First time I saw bobwhite hide underneath that scrap metal. Where's that place at? I live in the border Kansaa & OK. We don't have Pheasant down here. I like to take my Pointing lab up and work her on quails and Pheasant!

    Thanks! It was quite a surprise to me too! I have friends that live a couple hours north of you and sounds like there are decent bird numbers there this year. Just got to get your dog out and find them.

    So a question to the author. Is Kansas worth the time and money to venture to for pheasants? Central and S.W Kansas has been in a two year intense drought.

  • @TRPLCCOOP

    @TRPLCCOOP

    7 ай бұрын

    I guess it all depends on several factors. What are your expectations to make it “worth” the time and money and what are you willing to put into it. I know Kansas is not North Dakota and I expect that going in to it. You have to work 3x as hard to get your dogs on birds in Kansas as you do other places. If you’re willing to walk 12+ miles a day and drive all over, and have good dogs that are in good shape then you will find birds despite the drought. That’s my perspective…
