Bad Quality of the Metall Rings. But Kam Snaps are for Cotton Fabric (in German Webware) and the Metall one are for Fabric that is stretchy. In Germany you can buy the PRYM Pliers. And with good Snaps the are better for clothing than kam Snaps

I have never liked plastic KAM snaps because they are very bulky. I use to sew baby onesies/ rompers and plastic kam snaps are just big 'No' for me. And they're looking not so appealing on clothes because of plastic feel and bulkiness. Metal snaps have more clean finish and they are more flat on fabric. Probably plastic KAM snaps are good for sewing cloth-diapers but for delicate fabrics and baby's skin I like better metal snaps. My favorite all the time are (soon was, because there will not be possible to buy them anymore) Snapsource. I have never had that special plastic tool to use them, I use KAM hand press with molds designed for this size of snaps and it works like charm. And I love colour variation of Snapsource too.

Those snaps are different they have teeth the awl would ruin the fabric and provide nothing but damage to the garment.
