That mean REALLY BRAVE SWIMMERS.Not to mention the Highly Patriotic spirit. Patriot is not that one which cry when hear own national anthem, but that which did not cry suffering and struggle to accomplish own mission against invaders.
Just for your Information: The last picture of this video shows combat swimmers of the east german army NVA - so it is a picture from long time after WW2
You always dig deep Sir.

is there a special badge for WAFFEN-SS frogmen and SS parachutists?
I miss your old voice
One last desperate throw of the dice. Almost as bad as the japanese and their special attack units. I can only try and imagine how desperate the german leadership had become towards the end of the war

I wonder how much compression the human body feels from explosions under water ?? My old workmates' brother used to dynamite fish. I wonder how much you need to get a flogman to float up?? 😂

As water doesn't compress much (and won't create a 'cushion' effect of the air), better be out of the water even if the blast is miles away! Then again, if you know the explosion won't be immediate and they are looking for you - better stay under, as even if they shoot at you, the bullets won't penetrate more than 2-3 meters deep ;-). Anyway, for some interesting details, look up "Human Injury Criteria for Underwater Blasts" (The National Center for Biotechnology Information). There is also a 1973 study "Safe Distances From Underwater Explosions for Mammals and Birds" (available on DoD's Defense Technical Information Center).
