I got to be at Kamauu “A Quiet Moment Sound Bath” in LA last night. Kamauu hugged and listened to everyone there! When I asked if he had time for me to share my story with him he said “Yes please, please I want you to take your time” When I told him how I used his songs to begin my EMDR sessions, he gave me to most warm and loving hug. My mom said he was hugging with the expression and energy that we would hug our beloved who passed away. You could feel how compassionate he was from across the room. He helped us all drop our “trying to be cool” masks and appreciate and connect with one another. I am eternally grateful for that experience, I haven’t been able to afford a concert ticket for a decade so being able to go to any kind of event was so exciting, let alone one where we could here Kamauus beautiful vocalizations and interact with him face to face!!! 🥲🥹

I lived all over the five boroughs as a kid and at one point living in family shelter for battered women I would sometimes cut school and ride the atrian south just to try to get away from everything so the song carries so much beauty and love and connection and also and understanding of what Far Rockaway can mean for a city kid, and also recodes it as something beautiful in my own wilderness of my psyche. Thank you so glad to have found your music
