The Kali's are sure impressing a *lot* of people out there! You really seem to have done something special with these. My great dilemma is that I live in Cambodia, which makes it impractical for me to audition anything before purchase, or repair / return anything that has a problem or doesn't work out, after purchase. I'm actually thinking about buying three pairs -- of which these would be one -- and just absorbing a resale markdown on whichever two pairs don't win the contest. :-)

Thank you, this was the comparison I was hoping someone would do. I like the forward sound of the Adams but the Kali sounds more inline w the original track, and they have a power light in FRONT!

The Adam sounds more scooped, with more highs and lows, the Kali feel more meaty in the midrange to me and more balanced overall. It's especially audible in the first track, with the electric guitar, and on the tracks with singing. I really want to like the Adam, but I feel the Kali or even the Rokit are more balanced and have a better midrange for rock music.

The Heights of the Adam I like a percent more, an Idea more naturally. But very close, both good!

The highs of the adams make them very attractive but the kalis sound more balanced.

Focal alpha 65 > Kali > adam 7

I like both for different reasons, but for more balances across the range of genres, and low budget, I picked up the Kali's. They don't disappoint. That's just my opinion though.

It’s crazy how they each had their wins. Shows how even studio monitors aren’t flat.

What about LP-6 vs Eris E5?

Even I compared kali lp 6 with Adam and krk 5 when I bought Kali.i compared both the monitors one by one at least 20 to 25 minutes and in the end Kali lp6 wins. So thank you so much 😊 for this video.

These Kali have impressed me twice once against the Yamaha's and now against the Adams. I like flat unflattering sound,I hear that with these. I heard the comparison with the Adams against the Yahama's and I was like I still liked the Yahama, flatter sounding to me. But these Kali against both of my two favorite monitors. They held there own against two of the best I have heard up to this point. Yeah there are slight differences, but I like the sound of the Kali. I could live with them without thinking I was compromising anything, and the price..... Wow.

They are so similar however the Adam is warmer in the low midrange to upper low range.

Here with my new LP-6s, maybe they have a home court advantage since I'm playing on their monitors but they definitely sounded better. At 6:45 playing 'deep', the T7Vs were missing a lot of low mids, the LP-6s sounded a lot closer to the original recording. Other examples weren't as noticeable but I'm into that old school dubstep and bass so these are perfect. I had to exchange one monitor, it was hissing a tiny bit louder than normal, and I had to wait around forever at guitar center. One of the guys got me really convinced to check out the adams especially for less hissing and ear fatigue and also longer warranty. I got the Kali's on sale tho so I'd be paying literally double to switch to the T7Vs. Definitely happy with what I got

hi i'm new to the mix i'm also into dubstep and also drum and bass ... i was rather interested in the adam's ... but considering the price i found the kali's to be cheaper ... i don't really know what is the perfect frequency to choose ... what would you advise me please

@@DJZEMBRILO It's all preference and compromise on whichever you choose. As far as I know, the kali's have a flatter response, they hiss a little bit which is noticeable when it's quiet, and they're also cheaper. I've heard the adams will give you less ear fatigue with its design. Maybe check them both out at a local Guitar Center or something before buying

@@slightlypermafried Which is better for a guitarist? I heard some Kalis have to have firmware upgraded by returning them and I don't know where the service center is in India.

Listened on my Adam A77X's and Beyerdynamic DT 900 Pro X's. I felt that the Kali's were a bit mid and bass hyped - and smoothed out highs overall. I like the upper end detail in the Adams - except for Hearts Afire (a little more brittle). On Long Drive that mid-bump of the Kali's complimented the vocals - more forward in the mix. In the Adams, the voice kind of blended with the mix too much. I wanted it to stand out more. I'm surprised at how close they were on the frequency response. I'd still pick the Adams for mixing - but the Kali's are nice for listening to music.

would love to listen the comparison between genelec and amphions...

The frequency response for the Kalis looks exceptional; flat down to 40Hz. I wonder how accurate this measurement is?

I tried Kali and Adam T7V and I'm keeping the Adams because they don't have ANY hiss here, the Adams have better high end and better seperation of instruments, the Kali do have more and better mids (you must EQ the adams if you want to reach a comparable mid-level). Bass levels are interesting: The Kalis do have more punch and in-your-face bass and reach down to min. 36-37Hz in my room. The Adams on the other side have a less punchy, crisp bass but it goes deeper until 33-34Hz - the bass is smoother and does NOT have a high cut. That means the bass speaker of the Adams still moves when you give it sinus waves of 20Hz (or below). The Kalis say "no!" to that and cut down at about 35Hz. In the end both are awesome but I like the stereo field and the "not existing hiss" more, so I kept the T7Vs.

Damn! I keep having to talk myself out of making a decision. Then whenever I'm about to I read stuff like this lol. I figured as I make bass heavy music that the Kali's will be better but I have tinnitus and any mention of hiss is a no for me. It would drive me insane...

The 2 sound very close but the kalis have more detail in the low end and they’re $100 cheaper.

I possess Eris E8, pretty good, but to get the most flat possible, I had to cut treble -6 db !!! raise mid 3db and -2db bass on accoustic space. That's what works here in my home studio (untreated I must say), but man! they sound accurate now instead of really fun when place on regular setting.

Both speakers sound great!! I prefer the Adam Audio T7V. For the type of music that I do in my home studio they seem to sound a little more flat up and down. It is a very hard choice. If I was doing heavier music; more metal or house, the choice would be different. It also will make a huge difference when you add a sub to either system.

I think for budget home-studio monitors,... Adams have a sery of little cons: -subbass reflects are behind (bad for an against the wall placement) - the activity green leds are placed behind (you need to stick mirror papers on the wall to see if these are on or off !) -no TRS-jack balanced input (also replace your jack cables to XLR connect these) -the high defined highs with ribbons tech are not well balanced with the classic boomers definition and there's an evident flop in the midrange. Kalis LP6, now in V2, simply don't suffer from all these cons and are a bit more powerfull (80W against 70W)... In my european country, Kalis are 25€/pair more expensive than German (my neighbours) built Adams monitors. Tbh I think I would go for the Kalis but... ...spending 200€ more I would definitely go for the french built Focals Alpha 65 Evo, pure excellence monitors easily challenging Adams A7X ! 🤔😉😊

It's so hard to tell the difference between these 2, which says a lot of good about the Kali LP 6's. The only real difference I could hear is that the Adam audio monitors sounded just a little cleaner with a tad more clarity. The kali's have almost a vintage sound to them like how vocals sound through a ribbon mic. They almost have a warm and pleasing sound to them. I'm actually really impressed by the LP 6's. They just may be my next pair of monitors since I can't afford the Yamaha jawns

I’m surprised at how close they sound. The Adams have a touch more detail in the high end but in cost to performance the Kalis are a winner.

Hey I mix mostly Hip hop so most of the tracks are pretty bassy, would yall still recommend the Kalis over Adams?

@@jonathanvenegas7543 I ended up getting the kali 6s and they’re ok...not very good at low volume and very mid focused compared to my hs6s...in my room the kalis doesn’t translate well ..and my room is pretty well treated. Also there a lot more hiss in them than the hs6s....to me the kalis did not live up to the internet hype

LP-6 looks great for the price, even compared to other monitors than T7V, but after listening a lot of your tests, I've the impression than Adam T7V (and maybe T5V) have better placement than other monitors, especially on vocals, they seem to be more in the center of the stereo field, while other have vocals a bit "floating" around the center and wider but not in a positive way. What's your thought ?

The Kalis seem more present in the mids, with the Adams more effortless in the highs. Bass seems pretty similar, well articulated, not floppy, for both. The reference original sounds very dipped in the mids. Really it seems there is no clear winner. Either could be used and will do as good a job as each other. Seems it will come down to preference and aesthetics. I like the mids being less in my face, and prefer the look of the Adams, and like how easily the highs come through. Granted this is after KZread transcoding, so it's whatever. I wish i could tell more from the lows though... But a sub would seem to be in order for what i do anyway, so not as important. Glad to hear something more direct in a comparison of these though. Really been wanting to get a better idea. I wanted the Kalis to be better enough to make it a clear win, but it just isn't.

The woofers are in fact 6.5" in both the Kali and the Adam.

Both speakers are similarly good and will only present relatively subtle differences to critical listeners. Technically, both are solid choices, but again, being only dual instead of triple driver speakers, they will benefit a lot from well tuned subwoofers.

@@timmypena241 Critically placed, time and gain adjusted, properly EQed for the room they are in.

The Adams just sound more hyped, I don't know how else to put it. Listening to the original and the Kalis back to back, there's much less difference, which is the point of accurate studio monitors.

I feel like people either like the Kalis more if they have less hearing loss or vice versa. Sadly I have a bit of hearing loss and am questioning my decision to buy the Kalis (they are ordered and maybe I'll give them back). Let's see.

Chris Bessy kali has more hssss. But they are amazing for the price. I have them

Kali LP-6 seems a little more balanced/controlled in the lower frequencies, probably due to the port in the front? less boomy?! But the adams seems a bit clearer at higher mids? I think for acoustic music and clear vocals maybe the adams are a little bit more detailed. During the "deep" track the adams performs better though? Goes slightly lower maybe? For pure vocals the adams performs better anyways. Especially in "I never felt this good before". Conlusion: Faster bass respons on the Kalis so for drum n base-like music they would perform a tad better, even though they maybe doesn't go as deep as the adams, I think the responsive bass is more important there than just pure deep bass. The adams would perform better for acoustic music in general but would probably be bad for placing close near back walls. My own conclusion... I'm willing to spend more and get more. XD What I would wanna see is a comparison cheap vs more expensive in the same series of monitors. "how much more do you get with twice the price?" Adam T7V vs Adam a5x and a7x?

I'd choose Adam, just because of the bass. I think the Adams have a clearer bass response, kind of fullness. I know they sometimes sound too much bright, but I think I can correct them using the eq. Also I think that it's not only about the response, but what are you looking for in your mix , your own sound.

I traded the adams in for the kali's just because they didn't have the connections for cords I already had from my old speakers and them shits too expensive not to come with the cords you need for the damn speakers real talk..

Since there is absolutely no way to hear this audio in the room it's a moot point to say this is a b.s. test. Even with a cheaper mic recorder this is a way better comparison than the vast majority of sites offering mostly verbal opinions and I doubt the graph is as information rich as listening but is certainly welcome. a/b-ing multiple genres help form overall picture of sound and help overcome recording media's bias by offering multiple perspectives. Cool video.

I just got myself a pair of LP6's today! Tested out Adam T7V as well! Adam has more clarity, but lacks in bass side! But still punchy! Lp6s were very balanced! And also nearly $100 cheaper!

I just got some TV7’s yesterday. The only ones I didn’t get to try was the LP8’s. I wish I could have compared. But for sure the TV7’s blew the Yamaha HS7’s and Rokits out of the water.

Maybe adam's highs are more clear...But there is too much of it! It's not the balance that i want, so i've got a pair of lp6's:)

lp6 have better low mids I think due to front port handling but has not so good upper mids. visa versa on the t7v.

Your zoom recorder lights up sound to much.

To me they both sound great (I prefer the Kali’s) but NEITHER sound like the reference.

I like Kali more. "I never felt this good before" sounds more neutral. Adam T7V highs maybe not that great :)

That is by far worst description, Being T7V has probably the best highs in the game in any budget monitor. Only way to really test monitors is to actually go listen in person. T7V really good for the money. Both good monitors though. If you're in the states, Kali is actually cheaper option. Where as in the UK Adam t7V pick up cheaper than Kali.. For the money in either place they're both excellent...

​@@frosty6845 Yeah I calibrate my monitors to my Room, Although my room is not finished. Never really been put of with any speakers, If you know what they sound like you can compensate. Adam monitors in general have the best top end in any monitor.. Its whats unique to their sound signature. T7V are budget monitors, But they come with the same technology as their top line monitors. It honestly makes them special. With any monitor you either love them or hate them. Simply playing a guessing game when reviewing them like this in terms of sound quality.

More space with the kalis, imo... blown away. I prefer focal to adam anyhow, but Kali over Adam for sure

Adam seem to have a little too many hisses with voices IMHO.

Adam is more detailed, better high end, also has better instrument separation. Kali: better mids and more punchy.

Adam's got a lil sweep in the highs which is kinda exaggerated! Kali sounds almost close to the original track 🤔

Ho preso le nuove Kali lp6 V2, e le Adam 7, Kali nessun rumore di fondo , ma impegnativa per essere inserita in ambiente rispetto alle Adam. Forse e' la frequenza di crossover a 1500hz, ma il suono mi sembra un po' impastato rispetto Adam.

Io possiedo le Kali lp6 di prima generazione e non presentano un gran rumore di fondo, ameno che non ci si avvicini con l'orecchio al monitor. Le sto usando con la correzione software di sonarworks e sono abbastanza utilizzabili, ma secondo me, anche nonostante la rettifica dell'eq risultano un pelo fangose sugli alti e tendo ed enfatizzarli in fase di mix per compensare commettendo l'errore di causare harshness al risultato finale. Mi chiedevo se le adam t7v potessero essere più dettagliate sulla separazione deglii strumenti e meno ovattate

@@thrashcore7 in effetti in altre rece se ne parla del suono che risulta impastato. Con le Adam il problema non susstisce, preferisco queste, medio-alti molto precisi e non stancanti, forse un po' meno medi rispetto alle Kali, ma molto precise e definite.

Fun listening to this on my LP6s. Kalis sound so much superior @ 3:40 to 3:55 :D

Recorded with poor digi recorder? that doesn't tell anything about this speakers.

Even trying to compare tonal reproduction of a monitor using rerecording of a speaker is a terrible test. Much less using a Zoom H6 as your microphone.

Shuddhashil Dey They’re just different. Depends on what you need and what’s important to you. Seems like the Kali’s are better for saving money, very much ‘good enough’ but the Adams have amazing high end clarity and less ear fatigue.

Man, there is NOTHING that makes the intro of “Heart Afire” bearable on Senn HD280 phones, tho 😖😖😖

For me , bass frequencies were much more prominent in adam than kali, but mids and highs were much better in kali than adams. . . .

kalis have this kinda cardboard sound in the mids it sounds thin . adams sound more defined on the highs more even and fuller . for just listening you can get kalis they ok but for mixing adams are better.

Actually, it's the exact opposite of what you said... You are hearing a little 1k peak on the LP-6 but you are also hearing the Adam's 6k peek along with their 80hz bump which actually make them less acurate... Listen to "I've Never Felt This Good Before" track to check the midrange accuracy which is really the key in mixing... Boom and sizzle for home...

@@DWHarper62 adams sound better , better highs they sound good in my home studio and my university had them on a few studios too. all my mixes translate great. i listened to kalis in person i didnt like the boxy sound thats why i didnt get them. but mixing is about knowing your speakers accuracy comes to knowing the sound and knowing how to translate on the mix . Yamahas and adams are my favorites

Oh boy the Adam sound like they would be very fatiguing, maybe it’s the mic exaggerating sibilants.

@@oweegooss4132 I have Yamaha HS7 and DT 990 with SMSL SP200 THX amp and RME Babyface Pro SL DAC. My headphones and speakers are just as good as anyone else’s. I’ve also heard the A7x in person and they were fatiguing as well.

Seriously,this channel is not good for your wallet.

Sooooo, you take a speakers, point them to the microphone and then let people listen it in YT audio quality from their crappy speakers or headphones to decide what sounds better.... am I right? :D :D

I owned both and the amount of hiss from the kali audio was mind numbing. I sent those back and am super happy with the adam audio. They sound amazing, have a nice solid punch and clarity. Kali sounds good, but that hiss is just garbage. Go with the Adam's. I read a statement that Kali Audio put out claiming that their levels of hiss were the same as other monitors... BS. They are ssssselling sssssnake oil with all that hisssssssss

Kali LP-6 vs Adam Audio T7V. They have a different sound personality. Kali LP-6 as a very beautiful woman but slightly withdrawn and with a rigorous behavior but causing a slight frustration ... Adam Audio T7V like another woman less pretty, less rigorous, more sensual and who gives more ... Nobody is perfect.
