    Very informative video- thanks for taking the time to do it. This will be the next bar for me, after my SSB finally arrives. Also, I find that if I close my eyes when watching Kurt's vids, it sounds like Ray Romano is giving me lifting and strength equipment advice- which I find to be endlessly entertaining!

    Great review. Weird that they go so narrow (1") on the smaller handle, 29mm seems like it would be a better default choice, like a regular barbell. The tilting comparison with the TB-1 at the end though, I think is just a function of using the high handles... if you use the low handles on the Kabuki wouldn't it do the same thing? High handles lowers the center of gravity to a point below your grip which makes it more stable.

  • @timk8258

    @timk8258

    Hmm, I just saw on their website that the low handles are actually offset by 1/2" to make it balance better. Does that really make a big difference? Maybe the comparison you made was with the low handles and I just didn't realize it... ?

  • @TheKurtlocker

    I used both handles and was amazed at the balance throughout. A very well engineered piece. I didn’t notice the offset though. Thanks for the information.

    I can't shell out that kind of money right now, but it looks like an amazing bar. I was looking at the Rogue TB-2 trap bar, but that one will end up being about $500 after taxes and shipping. That's steep considering it has balancing issues and I bought other equipment recently. I think Kabuki one is the best on the market. Interested to see if any competitors try to make their own.

    Have you tried using this as a cambered bar for squats or goodmornings? They show it being used like that in their marketing materials but it seems like the square tubing would make it supremely uncomfortable.

    The only thing I dislike about this bar is I wish there was a faster way to switch the handle widths. I use the wide handles and my wife uses the narrow handles. It sucks having to unbolt them every week. I wonder if some kind of pin system could be implemented.

    @@TheKurtlocker gotcha, what part interferes exactly? Is it the sleeves not being long enough?

  • @TheKurtlocker

    @TheKurtlocker

    3 жыл бұрын

    The racks I tested in were monster lite racks from rogue. The sleeves begin to extend outwards from their attachment points inside the rack and because it’s a 2” diameter sleeve, the height of the crossmember would take a sleeve hit every time you came down with the bar. You could fix this by pulling from blocks or through the use of a flat footed rack

    I have never used the oppen bar. I have used the Kabuki bar extensively and love it but the one thing that the Eleiko bar has over the Kabuki is that it’s rackable in a standard rack.

  • @MrJkillahoe415

    @MrJkillahoe415

    @@TheKurtlocker the rack-ability is what is making it difficult for me. The eleiko bar only has low handles but that can be fixed using pull blocks. On the other hand the kabukis rack-ability cant be fixed unless you use straps which just makes things awkward. Tempted to go eleiko on this one.

    @@MrJkillahoe415 The real question is why does it need to be rackable.....A camber bar from Titan Fitness can do most of what a rackable trap bar can do. That bar PLUS the Kabuki are basically the same price as the Eleiko. Personally, I would go Kabuki, but that is based on my equipment and training preferences
