Season 2 was definitely less action-oriented than Season 1; it feels more like an interim between 1 and a potential 3. It definitely needed to happen though - we needed some breathing space to confront and flesh out the various barriers affecting their relationship. If/when Season 3 happens, it's going to be all the more intense because we've had that whole season of character development to contexualise their choices/actions and add to the emotional stakes. Having an action-packed Season 2 and then the forewarned Second Coming would've cheapened the overall story, in my opinion.

For me, I would've been okay even just with a confirmation but to have a canon kiss (even one as angsty as this) is such a relief after years of queerbaiting male/masc relationships. I couldn't have imagined the kiss happening any other way, they're simply too deep in denial about the various issues and barriers surrounding them for a wholesome kiss to have happened before confronting them 💚

Very true! Aziraphale is incredibly stoic, probably more of that Heaven conditioning coming through. That's why I'm not mad at him - he's clearly not rejecting Crowley (let alone out of malice), in fact he was trying to "propose" to him in his own way. They were both offering each other eternal companionship from the bottom of their hearts, but were also clashing on how to address the things keeping them apart. Once those external barriers are dealt with, I have no doubt they'll end up together. I guess time will tell! 💚

Haha, nice! Our household has shipped it from S1E1... our gaydar was off the charts right away! The queerness was different from other shows where queerbaiting is played for laughs or to suck queer people in for profit, but Good Omens always felt really genuine and unapologetic about it in a similar way to Our Flag Means Death. They both promised a payoff, and they came good on that promise (albeit while leaving us on an angsty cliffhanger). I'm glad shows like this exist for us 💚

We made use of them, to be sure! It devastated us as well, but in a good way - it was kinda inevitable that they'd have to confront these personal and systemic barriers at some point. Just like a Jane Austin novel, I'm predicting this is just the Act 2 cliffhanger where the characters are at rock-bottom, having fallen out over ongoing misunderstandings, but are now set up to learn and grow as individuals before reuniting to reconcile their past mistakes. No guarantees of course, but that's what I'm holding out for. At the very least, we've gotten confirmation that there are indeed romantic feelings between them which is infinitely better than the notorious queerbaiting of other notable shows 😭

Oh for sure, it devastated us as well. We're also enjoying the angst though; in a story with 6,000+ years of mutual pining amidst an oppressive regime which threatens them at every turn, it's kinda inevitable (INEFFABLE even). As I've mentioned her before, this was a necessary thing to happen - just like the Jane Austin novels GO is heavily referencing, Act 2 sees the lovers fall out over character flaws, traumas and misunderstandings (she had a knack for giving these complications depth and nuance rather than just as a plot device). This sets them up to soul search and reevaluate themselves before coming back together as better people in Act 3. Season 2 is definitely setting up for a climactic Season 3, where the characters finally have to confront the system instead of avoiding or complying with it. That's what's helping me cope at the moment, I'm just hoping the strikes are successful so that the workers get the conditions they need, and we can continue enjoying their content 💚

I couldn't agree more more! Both shows feature love interests who play around with gender norms and casually flirt with each other with minimal shame or forced no-homo-tho "comedy". They're free to just explore themselves and each other naturally, and come to beautiful realisations in very normal but wholesome ways. Of course, external factors add a lot of angst into the mix, but I have confidence both ships will work out; it wouldn't fit the vibe of either show if they didn't. I wasn't surprised with Good Omens, only because Gaiman was pretty upfront about it being a love story and that they were in love (albeit unknowingly and to a level beyond human comprehension due to them being supernatural beings). Nonetheless, queerbaiting has hurt us before, and every confirmed case otherwise is a win 💚

@@mariaclaragomesdecarvalho4117 no worries, you're doing great! 💚 in a lot of his interviews for the show (including for Season 1), Gaimon's been pretty clear that Good Omens is a love story (even though their love goes beyond human comprehension since they're spiritual beings), so to me it didn't feel surprising. The way Crowley and Aziraphale behave together differs from classic queerbaiting examples such as Destiel or Johnlock - they are shameless in their brand of affection towards each other, even when others try to mock it (eg the Sister in S1 saying she was breaking up an intimate moment when Crowley pinned Azi for calling him nice). I also doubt classic queerbaiting would have two same-sex characters dining at the Ritz having a candlelit lunch without making it awkward or played for laughs. Much like Our Flag Means Death, their relationship is taken very seriously and they're allowed to be wholesome together without the toxic masculinity creeping in to say "no homo lol". Of course, male friendships can be wholesome and not foreshadow romance, but they've consistently had romantic tropes respectfully sprinkled throughout their story, so to me that was a good indicator that this story was going to be something so wonderfully special 😇😈

Sorry if my video spoiled things for you - I did my best to avoid that by not revealing too much in the title, but YT won't let me change thumbnails on Shorts which sucks. 💚

That's why I kept nearly 10 seconds before the biggest spoiler to give people time to swipe past - if they've stayed on in spite of that and the title, at that point I'm afraid it's out of my hands if they get spoiled. In saying that, I understand how sucky it can be to be spoiled for a show/movie you've been looking forward to but haven't finished yet (for whatever reason), and I don't want to contribute to that for anyone. In the future, I'll definitely add a spoiler warning screen before letting the footage play to hopefully help alleviate this.

I'm guessing it's because Good Omens is based on a novel from the 90's, by authors who were fairly well-known at the time (Pratchett had been releasing novels since the 80's), so perhaps some of the parents are watching because they're fans of the book. Alternatively, David Tennant and Michael Sheen are older actors themselves who could very easily appeal to older generations. Or it could just be the overall whimsical comedic vibe of the show. Since there's no NSFW scenes (so far), I'd say it's a good pick if you were ever to watch something with your parents! 😅
