That battery really needed some kind of structural case with shock absorbing material inside so if it got dropped, it wouldn't damage it. Just the cost of it would warrant taking care of it. Great Job as always Dash!

morning, that battery is massive wish it would go on my kaabo mantis ,just got hold of a few ebike batterys with the lg mh1 cells great capacity on the ones ive tested so far ,,ive joined 2 of them together and doing a range test as this weather permits (currently at 20 miles minimal peddal,love your vids they help me out alot thanks

Yeah it's a lot - but they're good cells and as long as you're careful it's ok. When I welded in the new group I taped off the rest of the pack to stop my fingers getting exploded.

So what ended up happening? I'm planning on building my first ebike by spring I'm trying to learn, and my brain works the best when I can see everything interacting together. So just want to say thanks. This channel is really a big help 😮. Cheers I'm trying to learn saftey first.

Thankfully for the nice feedback! I replaced the damaged cell group. Not ideal as it won't be capacity matched but I explained that to the customer and he was happy to proceed.

So I may be having battery problems with my Kaabo Wolf King GT … based on the video, it makes no sense to see if any cells are bad because it won’t be a good idea to replace partial cells … however, the cells could be good but have a bad bms … then you talk about special gloves that one should be wearing … a new battery pack is $1,000 … 😭

if you're not comfortable, don't open it yourself! There may be a battery repairer in your area willing to help :)

Maybe there is a chance to get similar or the exact cells used? I mean they probably are also not exactly used the same but maybe better than new ones

I ended up replacing the cell group after talking with the customer. MJ1 cells are available, and while the battery wouldn't ever balance up fully, an 80% effective battery is better than a dead one!
