A crashed chopper is prone to enemy rearm so in order to make the chopper a little bit survivable the coaxial rotor blades are born. And if not as you say hit on the blade or the engine atlest the chopper is completly destroyed and unable to be used by the enemy.

Love the Ka-52, the only modern attack chopper being tested in a real war, busting entire armored columns, hunting mbt, taking big damage and still flying, and not some fancy, overpriced pieced shi**y choppers being used against a 3rd world country in the middle of a civil war, big difference.

The Russians have adapted. The Ka-52s are butchering the Ukrainian armored columns with zero losses. It's been going on for more than 2 months now and neither the Ukrainians nor NATO have been able to find a counter, even one involving attacking them at their bases. They have now recieved longer range precision guided weapons, the Russians keep improving their tech on demand, day in, day out, as expected.

Have you heard of PIORUN a Polish made MANPADS that has an IR seeker capable of distinguish between targets and decoys? If Poland is capable of making such missails then most of western world is capable of doing it also. It is time to find new type of self defence systems.

All modern MANPADS distinguish between target and countermeasures with multiple seeker types or gimbal limitations once locked. Not sure if flares helped here but Ka-52 have DIRCM and its blinding of seekers can make a missile fly by like we just saw it.

Thats why US ARMY choose Valor instead of S 97, because although Raider has coax rotor, it stil uses tail rotor as a pusher. One thing i am curious, can Valor run with one engine/one wing left? Honestly KA 52 Aligator is one of the badass in rotor wing defense industry.

Maybe this is news for Western viewers, but in Russia we have a lot of videos where missiles simply fly past the KA-52. The point is not about heat traps, but about the fact that the KA-52 has a system that diverts these missiles to the side. Apparently, when a missile approaches a helicopter, the missile falls into the range of such a system and its brain-computer simply goes astray. We don’t know at what distance from the missile the KA-52 can damage its brain, but in all the videos the missile passes quite close to the helicopter. This means that the failure occurs next to the helicopter, 50, 100, 150 meters from the target, we don’t know exactly, but it’s definitely less than 1 km, otherwise the missiles wouldn’t hit the video. It feels like rockets are going off course at the last moment.

That means the missile was fired before missile lock was achieved. If the counter measures worked, the missile would’ve went towards the countermeasure. False propaganda right here!!!

Counter? SAMs are supposed to go after the flare's heat signiture, which is very much different in this case. Just pure luck it missed the SAM.

The 9K38 has according to tests in the former soviet republics an approx. 60% hit rate. This can also be confirmed by any infrantrist who has served.

Helicopters are unlikely to be shot down in open country, as they have plenty of time to react, but in urban they will drop like flies, and Russia only used helicopters at the beginning of the war, after that it is pure open field.

Russian tech is basically rip off Soviet union tech. The «new» t-14 armata uses a nazi built engine that has been improvisert slightly. The only reason the Russians build the t-14 was becuse their other tanks like the t-90, t-80 and the t-72 can’t fire a type of modern anti-tank ammunition. So they built the t-14 to fire that type of ammunition. The armata is already outdated by the m1 Abraham’s, leopard 2 and the challenger 2.

They simply miss nothing to do with his flares
